Yay to Veggie!!!!!! ???????????????? But a usage warning to those who don't understand its potent flavour: Hot, and well buttered toast brioche etc light scraping on toast. DO NOT layer it thick like other spreads. Gobble it down and enjoy. P.S. It makes a good additive in soups and cooking for a deeper beefy taste. But watch the amounts of any other salty or salty ingredients you might add.

Reports of modern slavery double in UK care sector

Sounds like one of the oldest bigot tropes to me youreavina. 'They're' invading 'us'. They're taking our jobs, they're ruining our society etc etc. -
Thailand’s household-debt storm taking deadly toll on guarantors
Tropposurfer replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No apology for the dark (possibly to some) jarring post: Massed poor. Elite class. Elite class control all the wealth. Some call this Capitalism, but it is really neo-feudalism. One of the buzz phrases of today is 'trickle down economics'; The fantasy that those who hold great wealth drive will reinvest this in the world to grow and propagate the dissemination of this wealth, of privilege, so all can access security, comfort. This has proven by its own action to expose itself as untrue. The poor, and those allowed to enjoy just enough wealth (the middle class), act as middle men between the elites and the poor and help propagate the illusion 'the con' that they too can join the elite. Slaving under the illusion of being able to rise above the structure of imprisoned institutionalised slavery and one day will break through and join the elite to the great vast and grand utopia. Mire yourself in debt, work (or slave) all your days ... 'Pay it to The Man'. Men work so hard and so long they miss the childhoods of their own children, many, most are strangers to their own children. Men die young from the strain of this 'work'. Women are too often left to be both mother and father, alone. -
Ahh the to's and fro's of test cricket. What a wonderful thing to be able to ruminate and care about ... A real first world problem right there.

Russia hits Odesa after killing grain deal
Tropposurfer replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Disgusting huh Dickie. So sad because many who are fed by this grain live in poor and near starvation limit nations in Africa, and the impact of little to no grain will bring starvation to millions there. I don't know the answer to this but I do wonder if the world were to completely cut the entire Russian nation and ALL its citizens off from the world (ala Apartheid bans of the 70's) e.g. no visa's, allow no transit travel to other nations who don't, no financial contact, no trade, expel embassies. Expel Russia from the permanent membership on the UN Security Council for sure. Lord knows that in our world many nations have perpetrated colonial imperialistic abuses throughout history and the most obscene being in modern history so all western nations for sure have blood on their hands. This latest atrocity is just another shameful episode in mans inhumanity to man. I agree that every weapon needed must be given NOW. Sadly Putin will not stop unless he is stopped. This is, it seems one of the sad realities of madmen with power roaming, enabled by sycophants and a fearful, and or brainwashed populace. I decry the use of cluster bombs as I have seen the maiming first hand they randomly distribute. I can't help but wonder why a number of foreign fighting brigades can't be formed of ex-servicemen and women. Independent of any nation, funded by some of these well known trillionaire/billionaires. Forces similar to the anti-fascist fighters who fought alongside the Spanish against Franco. These troops and airmen have direct experience flying F16's and operating the armoury that could be brought to bear faster through their hands. -

More Americans say Supreme Court is too conservative
Tropposurfer replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Ahh ... its reality and fact. How about you stop disseminating porky pies and total misinformation. The reversal of Roe V Wade is exactly the removal of a woman's right to autonomy over her own reproduction and has heralded, by design, the passing of laws across the nation to penalise and prosecute and ban women from bodily autonomy of their reproduction. It is YOU who choses, not doesn't know the truth, but chooses to deny the truth and facts mate. What is wrong with you people ? -

'Big Joke' Targets 'Outlaws' Gang Leaders in Pattaya
Tropposurfer replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The Outlaws in NOT a 'biker club' i.e. a peaceful group of law abiding citizens who enjoy riding their bikes about. It is registered (in many countries) as a criminal bikie gang organisation. They (and this included the US originating Outlaws) are proven to be responsible for murders, prostitution, drug running, extortion, bombings, insurance fraud, car and bike rebirthing/chop shops, illegal gambling, lone-sharking, drug production e.g crystal meth, mass exporting and importing of drugs across the globe, money laundering, human trafficking, muscle for hire, you name it if its illegal they are into it. Bikie gangs are considered a major criminal scourge in many nations across the globe, on the same par as the many ethnic Mafia type groups and triads e.g Russian, Sicilian, Albanian etc. -

More Americans say Supreme Court is too conservative
Tropposurfer replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Interestring statistics huh? I'm curious about the 30 odd percent that are reported as seeing the court as too liberal. How is it possible for an enlightened person who believes in individual liberty think removing, by law, a woman's autonomy over her own body, and punishable by Law if she does exert such autonomy is in any way exemplary of the Constitution and The People being free of either civil or sectarian tyranny?- 105 replies

Russia strikes Ukraine grain after ending sea deal
Tropposurfer replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I heard about 2 hours ago on an Aussie news feed (evening news there) that Russia has announced it will consider any ships entering the ports of Ukraine as legitimate war targets and they made specific mention of grain ships. -

Was the spider you saw anything like this? Its what we call a white tail spider in Aussie ... maybe it was one of these ... LOS version that bit ya. They cause a small reddish bite area which grows over time and can show necrosis of the area, flakey skin, blistering, pain in this red area, burning, stinging reddish bruise-like roundish mark. I've had a few when I lived in the land of super venomous crawlies and ended up with a 5 cm diameter raw super sensitive (burn-like response) mark that lasted for about 2 weeks. I've not seen one here, yet, that I'm aware of, but apparently they do have a similar species to the Aussie ones here. You should be able to see two clear fang marks about 5 to 10 mm apart if you were bitten by a like sized spider if it was one of these critters.

My experience with all of the opposite sex no matter what culture is communicating in a caring and respectful way and being clear and holding my boundaries. I have found to talk kindly, directly, slowly, openly (not indulging in unspoken thinking in my head or assumptions or projection helps) to acknowledge the others desire for somethings more than I am offering or a bit to fast for me. I can simply tell the woman i am used to going more slowly and learning as a friend first. I learnt to say what my intentions were right at, or near the beginning e.g. I asked you out for company to share enjoyable friendly time, to help pay the food bill (joke), because you have a kind face, or I enjoy listening to you or some, or maybe an open vulnerable sharing of 'I enjoy making, and want to make new ones and I have an idea we can be friends. Sometimes such declaration of intentions can come during the time together when we sense a woman beginning to become a but more comely towards us and we sense/feel things are speeding up inside their heads and hearts. These moments can be a great improver of our friendship and not at all destructive. Its amazing to me that we can say we are flattered, happy and glad that we can share so honestly with each other. People have needs, sometimes neurotically driven ones, seeking codependent relationships is not uncommon amongst our species and the delicate measure of relating requires sensitivity and appreciating of not only mine but the others feelings and thinking. For some, especially men, we tell ourselves to just switch-off, be indifferent, deny our deeper needs, and in doing so never ever get to any place of deeper intimacy, 'walking away', blocking communications, etc is common. Like you describe yourself none of these is me either.

Cleaning up my front yard
Tropposurfer replied to Confuscious's topic in Plants, Pets & Vets in Thailand
As posted before; Vinegar will kill everything - spraying with a spray bottle to near run-off will do the trick. Salty hot water in watering can will also kill most plants, the salt will leech out of the soil pretty quickly. Roundup mixed at the correct dose and used once will offer minimal impact to the soil flora and won't harm most insects dogs or cats. The issues with Roundup, or any other herbicides is that folks think making the mix stronger than recommended will work better - it doesn't but it does cause risk to animals as on poster remarked about their dog nearly dying. Sadly Thai's seem to do this a lot. With all herbicides it helps to add an extra surfactant (all herbicides carry such an element in their composition but added detergent really makes the application effective) ... add a squirt of dishwashing liquid to your mix help the herbicide stick to the leaves which aids absorption. Prolonged use of Roundup (active ingredient glysophate) will kill the soil flora and render the soil barren. It will also, with prolonged use reside in the soil be absorbed by plants, which is nasty if eaten by animals or humans. It will decimate bee and butterflies populations etc if used regularly. -

RIP young fella. So young. Horrible for the family he has been torn from. As yet no definitive understanding and statement about how he died. The Thaiger article doesn't give any more info either. How strange is this island? A lot of nasty murders, suicides, and misadventures it seems. Don't know about any of you folks but no way we'll ever set foot on the place!
