If the rich and powerful nations who control the worlds economy weren't so unholy pernicious then maybe the populations of the nations they so callously exploit wouldn't leave their homes in order to try to feed and save their children's lives. The murderers have been killed by the tactical response team at the site. There were 3 shooters; 2 male and 1 female. They ARE NOT STILL AT LARGE they were shot dead very shortly after the officer murders took place. The two officers were 29 and 26, male and female respectively, The younger had been a constable for only 8 to 9 weeks and on her first posting. They were pre-meditaledty 'ambushed' (or so the police Commissioner of Queensland said live on the feed I just watched) with semi-automatic weapons and after being dropped by rapid multiple shooter gunfire they were shot again as they lay on the ground. The following responding police patrols were held at bay under what was described as "withering' fire and unable to retrieve the bodies of their colleagues as they were operating under a hope/belief both were hopefully still alive when they arrived. A civilian from a neighbouring property in his 50's who was first at the murder scene was unaware of the shooter in hiding and when he tried to retrieve the officers was shot in the back and died instantly.

Living here and learning the patterns of traffic and 'peak times' helps us negotiate the roads with little problems. I'm retired now so I have switched to Thai time and simply call if I'll be late for some arranged time thing, and simply sabai sabai the traffic away. Sitting in my uber-comfy SUV with the aircon, some good tunes, or listening to the latest Facebook favourite news feeds I have makes the time go along just fine.

I try to chose carefully what times I drive across to the other side of the island and this seems to help a tad with the road mania e.g to play at Mission Hills I/we book only for first tee times and leave super early.

Yes it was really magical and the clock truly turned back. To see the burst of fish-life e.g. schools of fish at haad Surin, Bang T, Layan and Naithon with turtles and sea grass and coral begin to grow all over the place was amazing. We hired a large catamaran (private not tour) to the Similan's when nobody was going there at all and stayed for a few days and it was nothing like it was pre-covid and the hoards of tourists (didn't see ONE other boat the second, third day) ... insane fish life, rays, dolphins, the whole nine yards. I don't miss the confinement at home (thank the gods I had a pool to myself! The battle to get food deliveries (I was new here back then so didn't have a network of local restaurants contacts I knew and could call, plus the supermarkets were having a devil of a time keeping up with the huge increase in online home deliveries, so ran out of Weetbix and Vegemite .... OMG ???????????? But I don't miss the lack of nutters on bikes almost daily ending up under the SUV. Thankfully where I live the local beaches are still all but empty at sunrise when I go to swim my laps. The super good-looking free-agent ladies seem to be slowly returning to the beaches and beach clubs and I'm seeing more on our occasional visits for drinks n the latest Euro tech music. I'm so glad for the struggling locals finding more income, yet sad to still see many of the small mom n pop businesses along the way from Surin to Naithon shut and really struggling if open at all. Its still really quiet here on the island where we live. Boat Harbour is definitely seeing more of the tourist trade. The Friday night market scene at Blue Tree in Thalang of late has gotten much more viby too. I'm not averse to the gorgeous Russian women I am seeing more of though lol ???? I have to admit to, despite being with a stunning woman (well to me she is), being gob-smacked at the Venus's from the eastern block nations I see here. This is a checkmate for the Orange freak and one he can't get dismissed or delayed by him. Add to this the bag-load of federal subpoena's for high ranking Republican operatives across the nation by Smith in the last few days and things aren't looking good for the treasonous co-conspirators of J6, right the way to the top of that rotten tree. What is also of very pressing magnitude for the fraud, thief, and traitor Trump is the NY investigations into his NY tax fraud which now has a new prosecutor appointed by Melvin Bragg. Not to mention Letitia James' tax cases in NY State which are very advanced solid and indicate criminal charges for Trump himself, his family, and open court for them all. Both these tax investigation and what appears to be a inexorable pathway to open court trial on very serious tax fraud charges for both, which carry tens of years in jail as commensurate penalty if found guilty. It also appears that through Letitia James investigations and the recent appointment of an embedded 'monitor' of all Trumps businesses in NY State means (if he is indeed as guilty as many observers, and pundits say he is) his capacity to do any business ever again in NY. This will bring lawful disqualification, under any circumstance, that will see him unable to conduct any form of financial wheeling and dealing in NY ever again, not to mention the pending garnishing of over 250 million dollars from his ill gotten thievery. The stinking stigma that will come from. this will brand him forever. He will, if convicted, be persona-non-grata to banks anywhere in the USA. His capacity to do backroom shady deals with foreign lenders like he did with Deutsche Bank and the Saudi's and god knows who else will be impossible. I heard from a Republican voter who's a centralist I guess in her views on Midas Touch Facebook and she said this is totally strategic in that Sinema is up for an election race soon and was staring at being done like a dinner by a fella with a Spanish American name (can't recall it). Often sadly the oh-so-often issue with this problem is Thai builders being absolutely cr@p at setting and transitioning from one RL to another i.e. they set levels for floor slabs which don't allow enough depth & fall to the exit points off the properties for the sewer drainage (such as your shower pan) which often results in next to zero play to install pans, and 'u-bends/s-bends' with sufficient depth of pipe 'fall' to the drainage exit points. Bad building practice! This is on page one of any decent builders plans! I was very specific about all my shower pans, bathroom floor, toilet, and laundry floor pans with the setting of the house floor slab heights so we had perfect angle of exit and Aussie standard specs on all pans, s-bends, and pipe dimensions to the mains sewer. With sufficient fall, correct sealing, correct pipe dimensions, and correct s-bends nasty vapours are impossible.
