Is it legal to get a copy?

I don't know. It's a fairly normal service offered by some key shops and locksmiths. I just don't know where in Chiang Mai to have it done.

  2. Anyone know where I can get a key card copied?  The juristic office wants 500 baht for an extra card. I have had copies made in Bangkok for a different condo for 150 baht.

However, the  key card I want to copy in Chiang Mai opens both the common area doors and the condo room door, so maybe it's more complicated then a key card that only opens the common area doors.

Got an original NHS supplied one and one I bought from Lazada The Lazada one is more power more functions and you can buy the sticky pads cheap as chips ????

Can you tell me if your Lazada one has a brand name on it?  Thanks.

The one I bought says Health Herald on it.  That is the brand that many vendors are selling from 100-500 baht.  I wonder if they all come from the same manufacturer or are just copies of copies of copies... It actually works but only on one setting.  Most of the buttons don't do anything or do the wrong thing.  I can see that it would be good if it was not defective. ????

I ordered another one from a different vender just out of curiosity.

  4. Well, I ordered a Chinese TENS machine off Lazada for about 200 baht. Seems unlikely that it will be effective but it is the one being sold by many vendors and actually has good reviews. Seems worth a shot compared to the 2600 baht for the Omron device.

The 300 baht Chinese blood pressure monitor I bought a few years ago still works and is just as accurate as one that cost five times as much so that gives me a little hope.

  5. Any recommendations for a TENS machine,

I saw a couple on Amazon for around $25 that are really well reviewed.

Looking at Lazada though I can't really figure out which ones are legitimate and which aren't.

    It's for shoulder pain.

    Thanks

You cannot change visa types inside the country (except to go from a tourist visa to a Non-Immgrant type one), so going from a Non-B to a Non-O can't be done
    HOWEVER WITH THAT BEING SAID
I'd bet dollars to durian you don't have a Non-B VISA at all ????and instead if you read the stamp in your passport it probably says "extension of stay permitted until" and has a date stamped <- that is NOT a visa, it's exactly what it says, an extension FROM a visa..
    AND
You can change the reason for an extension from employment to one based on being over 50 (retirement) by cancelling your work permit, getting the termination paperwork from your employer, getting ALL the required documentation, bank letters, updated bank book, copies etc and going to the immigration office.

You would cancel your current extension based on employment and then immediately apply for a new extension based on being over 50 (retirement). People change the reason for extensions all the time and this is a common "reason change" (employment to retirement)

Before you're going to do this go to the immigration office where you live and get the hand out listing the requirements for the year extension based on retirement so you can get all the documents, you have just one chance to pull off the cancel current extension/apply for a new one, so get it right

Thanks.  Yes, I have a visa extension.  Unfortunately, I have to go to Changwattana.  Do you know where  to find a current list of document requirements?

  7. Interesting note to my original post asking for help.  I was selling a couple of nice Ikea rugs on Facebook and someone came to my condo to pick them up.  This was just a couple of days after posting this.  We chatted a bit and it turned out that he was head of periodontics and implant surgery at the hospital of the  same major Thai university that I work at.

The exact person I needed to see came knocking at my door!  Anyway he was able to save the tooth, at least for now, and advised against an implant in the future as it is a rear molar and the opposite tooth has had a root canal.  And he charged virtually nothing.

    What an extraordinary coincidence.

Assumption: you have a long term extension of a Non Immigrant permission to stay.

Usually, you must do the transfer at the Immigration Office that issued your most recent extension. If you have changed your permanent address (TM30 and long term rental contract to prove it) you may be allowed to do the transfer at the immigration office in the area you have moved to..

Thanks. Yes one year non-immigrant B and I have not moved from Bangkok. Oh well I guess I will have go to Chaengwattana. At least they have what seems to be a functional appointment system now.

Odd... I did my 90-day report online about two weeks ago, and got my confirmation receipt/next reporting date notice back in email 3 days later, so all is good.

Now today, I get an email from BKK CW Immigration reminding me that my next reporting date is coming up tomorrow (the original reporting date prior to my most recent report two weeks back).

Maybe they've started their Song Kran celebrating a bit early this year???

Maybe the 12-year-old boy that does all their IT work had to take a couple of Wednesday afternoons off to get his braces adjusted so they have fallen behind.
