I had mine at the same place (Sukhumvit soi 12) back in November 2021.  The compulsory fixed-price "donation" is now 5,000 baht.  Still significantly cheaper than any hospital, even if you drive up from Hua Hin.  The whole procedure takes less than 30 minutes.

How was your recovery from the procedure?

Better to find the cause, than continue to treat the symptom, especially with cortisone.  Agree with changing up the exercise routine and see how that goes.  There's a few things that could go wrong in the shoulder, so either find out what it is, or give it more time by itself.

I screwed something in my one shoulder, lifting weight I shouldn't have, and it took years to correct itself completely.

My orthopedist said that in his experience some people do not have new flair ups of pain after 1 or 2 shots. I think there's a mind-body interaction going on there. But I agree with you.

According to Google cortisone injections can make it worse long term. I have a labral tear in the shoulder, flared up recently so i limited the cause and it's getting back to normal now, so if exercise is causing yours change the exercise

Thanks. I've only had one previous shot 8 months ago and my doctor in Chiang Mai thinks another one is reasonable before doing an MRI.

I was told overly frequent use of cortisone can soften bones and make them vulnerable.  I have to wait 6 months between injections though the pain relief from cortisone only lasts about 3 months for me.

    Thanks.

I get cortisone injections in both knees every 6 months at "Bangkok Christian Hospital" on Silom, about 300 meters from Sala Daeng BTS. Dr. Somchai Kuptniratsaikul.

No appointment needed, just bring your passport and register at front dest.  I've never had to wait more than 30 minutes.   Usually B2000 for 2 injections.

I did pretty thorough shopping 3 years ago and this was the best price I could find with an actual orthopedic Dr.

Thanks.  I'm already registered there so maybe I'll give him a try.

  6. Where can I go in Bangkok to get a cortisone injection in my shoulder for a suspected rotator cuff tear or strain?  I am looking for a place that is cheap and with the least drama about it.  Thanks!

I went to a orthopedic clinic in Chiang Mai about 8 months ago (Dr. Chanakarn) and the doctor evaluated my shoulder pain and suggested trying a shot of cortisone and seeing how that worked before going to the expense of an MRI.  It really helped a lot and I was pain free for many months.  Now the pain has returned at a minor level after regular exercise and I want to try another shot.

The fee in Chiang Mai was 600 baht.  300 for the exam and 300 for the cortisone injection.

I may wait until my next trip to Chiang Mai but if anyone has a Bangkok recommendation I would appreciate it.  Obviously not as cheap as Chiang Mai but not 3-4000 baht either.

I was peeved I can't talk to support or someone at Grab.  500baht order showed up and the food was still frozen.  "Fresh" oysters my behind!

FROZEN and unedible.  And no way to complain or get a refund

There is a way to complain about a bad order or report a problem but it is so deeply hidden in the app that it is virtually useless.

  8. I rented a fairly new Aerox in Chiang Mai for a month recently.  A slight bit of a rough ride in the city, I thought, but it really came into its own on a trip to Pai and back.  I loved it!  Smooth, powerful, great handling.  (The road is also exceptionally well-maintained and sign-posted these days also.)  Kind of made me think it's time to replace my 20 year old Honda Wave.

I'm curious if the NMAX, which I have never rode, is better than the Aerox?  I guess I will rent one next time but what is your opinion?  Thanks.

  9.  What are the transportation options on arrival now? I think the taxis there have a fixed rate of 1,000 baht into Pattaya and I'm hoping there are vans available. Thanks.  (Chiang Mai to UTP is only 750 baht now on Lion Air)

But they do not enforce it.

I have seen many report of them being processed if the were received within the real requirement of being received within 7 days before the rpor date or even less.

You could mail it by EMS so it is received within the 7 days and it would be accepted.

Speaking from personal experience when I did not receive it back and showed up at CW with proof of mailing it, I was told the reason it was not returned was that I mailed it too late and I was fined 2000 baht.  I sent it by EMS about 10 days before due date.

That's the deal breaker for me.

CW want the mail report 15 days prior to due date.

I'm not prepared to wait even a few days with online option.

I like how the old system treated me....Instant Failure.

    I knew where I stood.

CW and myself have moved on to be Pen Pals.

Yup.  And they may reject it and fine you 2000 baht if you mail it past the 15 days.  By golly, it's almost like they have set it up to get those fines.

  12. Can anyone tell me the history of this building in Chang Kian on Chaoban Road? I know it was seemingly abandoned for many years but I never knew what it was or why it was abandoned. Now they appear to be renovating it into something, but I don't know what. Just curious as I drive past it every day. Thanks.

And/or maybe TM6 data mismatches/corruption is a main reason the other line 90 days reporting systems which do require the TM6 number entry does not work for me people.....and immigration knows if they just eliminate the TM6 data checking with the 90 day online report it will allow many more people to report online.  Just a guess.....and I know other issues like a passport change and last entry date can have an impact also.

I would just hope the developers of this system took a look at what causes major problems with the two other/previous systems and tried to eliminate the source of such problems in this new system.

But of course an IT programmer may identify and recommend a certain change to improve a system's usability like not requiring TM6 data, but if the immigration HiSo's say "No, we gotta have TM6 data in the new 90 day reporting system", well, the source of a problem gets built into the new system.

Out of curiosity, I tried registering on the old 90 day reporting app a couple of days ago.  I've never been able to successfully submit on the website.   I entered Thailand in 2007 and have not left since then.  I also received a new passport during that time.  For the first time I actually got an error message that included some information.  It said that my TM6 number was incorrect.

I was able to register and submit my 90 day report on the new web version.  It is pending.  I also mailed it via EMS  on the 3rd and it is due on the 17th.  That is not within the 15 days they insist on to make everything more complicated when the online report is rejected.  It will be interesting to see what happens.

If you care about your health Ruam Chok Fitness is your best choice….and it’s much closer going there than heaven….

Yes, It is a nice gym with good equipment and a pleasant vibe.  Sadly, it's the motorcycle ride there that is most likely to hasten my demise.
