  1. So he'd have 300,000 baht as opposed to 0, after 3 years of the deal. ????
  2. Mine too. I thought it was a fantastic show of solidarity, until I realized that it was because the only somtam stall was outside.
  3. Not a good deal when it's for 3 years, and you could buy it for less. ????
  4. That old chestnut. ???? I'm sorry I can't marry you. Why not? My family would never allow it. Who are they to tell you what to do?! My wife and 2 kids.
  5. No need for a lawyer, just the Thai law printed out and the ombudsman's phone number keyed into the phone so the official can explain it to them, as 'we' are too stupid to understand the problem. Once their name has been noted down and the ombudsman has been called on 02 141 9100, attitudes change fast.
  6. Do these actually work? In terms of keeping the rooms cooler in the daytime? Keeping the bedrooms cold in the nighttime after an hour of AC with only fans for the rest of the night? https://www.lazada.co.th/products/20mm-90cm10minsulation-epe-foam-roll-20mm-90cm-10m-i261682333-s12573423161.html? Or is the difference minimal and not really noticeable? Are they easy to lay? The ceiling is plasterboard, with electrical wires and the tops of light fittings etc on the roof side. Pin the foam roll to the bottom roof strut so it runs a few inches above the ceiling as to not hinder the light fittings and electrical wires? Or they're just pretty much useless? TIA
  7. Actually, it's nothing to do with land transfer. In typical Thai fashion it's a big mix up of Thai family stuff, where one member was overseas, land being granted to them was put into another family member's name, the Thai is coming back this year, and will want to know if the other member hasn't used it as collateral etc etc while holding onto it. Normal Thai mix mash nonsense. ????
  8. We have a few chanotes. The ones from before 2538 are handwritten. The reserved spaces on the back are for where the next owner's names will be printed, along with other pertinent information, no doubt that is where it would be documented, but I don't see one specific space for only collateral/mortgage information. Thanks.
  9. Do you have an example from online images etc? For example, is it stamped at the land office, is the writing printed onto it at the land office, is it hand written at the land office and date stamped? or how and where is it written on the back of the chanote? TIA
  10. How to tell if a Chanote is being used as collateral against a mortgage on another unit? Do the land office mark or stamp the chanote in some way, is it altered, or documented on the original chanote, if it being used as collateral on another property? TIA.
  11. A big iron one. They shouldn't walk into because, as pointed out, it isn't illegal, but it would hurt their head.
  12. Maybe pay the daughter the same monthly amount you need to pay the 'wife' and she'll pretend to like you too?
  13. Yes. I lie to my partner of 5 years, 7 years, 3 years, 11 years, and 45 minutes. If I didn't they'd find out about each other.
  14. Men never shoot each other in places like America, or the Congo.
  15. I might just sign up to Bangkok Bank. You're able to undress her, right.
  16. It will go to appeal and he'll be allowed to sentence himself.
