  1. The house has a long concrete side area that gets a few hours of sun each day due to the shadow of the house. Around 1.5 meters wide. I'd like to use it for something else than where we park our scooters and store the clothes hangers etc. I'm thinking of buying a few of these to line up along it. They would get a few hours of sun each day, then be in the shade for the rest of it, but obviously getting the heat etc. They would need concrete blocks or something to anchor them down so they don't blow over during storms. Placing in plastic trays with soil etc, what vegetables and herbs etc could be grown? Lettuce? Chilies? Basil? Mint? Tomatoes? Potatoes? Coriander? etc etc The veg and herbs in each particular unit requiring the same amount of water each day would make it easier. TIA.
  2. The BMW just has to look out for guys dressed in giant white hoods, easy.
  3. Thanks. That could be the first course of action. Me going up in the daytime and trying to seal where any light is coming through. Is this what you used? From the inside, clean the area that has light and then seal it with this?
  4. No, but I want to know what's needed, and how it should be done, instead of just letting a crew of Thais come and say it needs this, this, this and this, and then do it all in a manner that I don't know of. So at the moment I'm looking at the options of sealing tape. A sealing substance. Replacing tiles. etc.
  5. Thank you for all the information and comments. I believe the roof is around 15 years old.
  6. Thank. The main roof has a lip on the front and back, which from the side angle may look like all the tiles are laid at that rotation. Maybe this angle from under is clearer.
  7. Why. Inherited property that he never really cared about or needed? Not all Thais are slaving away for 500 baht a day you know.
  8. Thanks. These roof tiles need to be rotated 90 degrees? Is having a roofer/tiler come to rotate and lay them all correctly viable? Would such a job typically be done in one day, for an average size house? TIA
  9. Prostitution isn't illegal in Thailand for over 18s. The soliciting and advertizing for it is. Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act, B.E. 2539 [1996].
  10. The forum would be removed, and perhaps another one would be opened for threads posted WITH TITLES IN CAPS.
  11. Getting roof seal tape, and taping over where light is visible from under sounds like an option.
  12. I'm not sure. A better look at them.
  13. I have no idea. From the outside they look like this: Can see some water damage on the awning. From under the roof the tiles look like this:
  14. We've noticed a few water marks on the plaster board ceilings in a few rooms since the rains started to come a month or so ago. Nothing too big or major. probably 5 or 6 in total, a few CM in diameter. One long one that is around 20cm long and, but narrow. I wanted to leave them for the rainy season as the marks would highlight which part of the roof is leaking. I may or may not do that, as there are another few month of sporadic rain storms to come. So it come to sealing a roof. Google shopping shows loads of different types of roof sealants, mainly they seem to be acrylic. Some in squirty tubes, some in tubs. Which types of sealants are usually good? Is it a case of getting up there and cleaning out around each tile, and then squirting the sealant around each one? Or tub, and apply it all over the tiles with a roller is better? TIA.
  15. I bet that the police officer that publicly attacked his wife with a hammer and used it to destroy her car because went to a birthday party doesn't constitute a threat to society and isn't remanded.
  16. The man belongs in an old folk's home.
  17. Set the photo as your screensaver. Turn off the aircon. Tell your E-San wife to bring you a glass of Tipco.
  18. Move the decimal point to the right a few places to get the data for the farangs that come here. ????
