If you were not "dead set" on the Bullion, you could buy a device that is, in my opinion, far superior, like the LinkSys ADSL Modem Wireless Router (WAG54G). It provides both modem and wireless router functions. No drivers required!

They do not have the ( WAG54G ) but they have the one showing in the picture .

They ask same price as the link mentioned 3800 Baht .

I am still not sure if the link price is for the ( WAG54G ) or the one picture showing !

Anyway I did not get it , as the box was open , and I could not come back tomorrow and get money back refund .

The advice was “never buy any Modem/Router from a True shop” I probably had to extend that also to the advice they give you.

To connect a modem bought from True shop regardless which brand name you need to use your computer to “dial” (PPPoE) the True ADSL connection. Normally a ADSL router is capable to do this them self, just by entering the setup.

As my previous advice the D-link DSL-2640T router has a setup wizard which makes it very easy to get online, you only need to know your user name and password.

The original Billion 5200S works without problems with Windows Vista, the only problem is that True changed the firmware. Which takes away about 50% of the functionality of the router, and making it basically not more then a simple Ethernet router.

Trying to install the Billion 5200S following the Billion manual will surely fail, your best chance to get online is to call True support and follow the steps they suggest.

I just ring my friend , he is bit busy . but i know he bough a box for his room and it is link to the main UBC box in the house, he is able to watch ubc programs and change chanels as he want !

I had True installed but, because of a technical situation (I had a Mac), the Zylux modem would not work. I bought a router and all is well. I still have the modem, power adapter, cables, and instruction manual. For the price of a beer, they're all yours. I'm currently living in Shanghai, and I'll be in BKK 7/5-15. I'm living in the CBD, not far from the Chongnonsi Skytrain station. Cheers!

I have a 3-4 years old modem ( TERA ) for TRUE connection, 10 % of the time I put on the computer I get a blue screen , the prob is from glausb.sys ( who are from this modem and true ) and sometime my computer freeze when I surf !

Anyway I ring True, told the person my two problems, she told me now they give BULLION or ZYXEL to customers.

Technician came today, I was hopping they will change my modem , but no ( only to new customers ) after hearing I will be charge for the service today, I told the service I am cancelling my account and will reapply as new costumer , anyway at the end , I did not be charge , but still need a new modem !

Use my visa card to withdraw from ATM, they give me a TT rates 28.27 , but charge me 2.8 % fee

Use my Amex to withdraw , the rates was less , but the charge was $ 1.25 ( comme to the same as visa )

The best I find was sending Australian dollars to my bank account where I get the TT rates.

If I have a second choice I will go for traveller cheques with high domination .

You should have got one with your ADSL router / modem. Looks like an adaptor , plug your phone / fax & router into the ports on one side and a line to the phone socket on the other side. Looks like this.

yes i got one of them , but my office phone allready on the phone line , i will get a double extention : one for the phone and one to plug to the computer dialup modem !

the other problem i find , is if i a friend is using the computer on adsl , i can not make call from my phone upstair ( i can live with that ! )
