Does anyone know if you can hold 2 Thailand Visa at the same time?

I certainly had 2 towards the end of last year, a multiple entry Tourist visa expiring January this year and a single entry "O"  valid from Nov 2019 until Feb 2020.

Maybe something to do with it being your Embassy who would issue a new one, but Immigration that would do any cancelling and you wouldn't need to see Immigration if you got things in the right order?

A friend of mine tried to prearrange with the embassy at his destination and was told he'd have to go in person to hand over the documents and nothing can be done before he's actually there. That was about 2 weeks ago

I think some will let you email as I seem to recall a poster falling foul of file size restrictions.  Handing in documents seems nuts considering you could be hundreds of miles from your embassy.

    Reliant Urgent Care 24/7 hours

15 minute test results. 175 dollars i think. Very near the terminal building.

That price is for antigen testing which won't do you any good regarding returning to Thailand.  The PCR test required has standard 48 hour turnaround and is $195 USD, or premium prices for results in 24 hours or 8 hours.

AFAIK no passengers allowed on non repatriation flights. I know this flights are down on flight radar and other flight websites, and I know they are carrying passengers to destinations beyond Thailand, but as currently there is a daily limit on the number of incoming passengers, again, AFAIK only repatriation flights and in some cases private flights

Perhaps this from the Royal Thai Consulate in Dubai will help:

It is already partially out of date as they have since clarified via Facebook that Thai Nationals can fly too, subject to the same conditions as Non Thai Nationals.  It has been discussed in various threads if you need more details.

So many replies with no actual answers to the questions asked.... just a normal tvf day...

Good to see the disinformation is still flowing then. ????

They are not normal schedule flights, and depending on location not very frequent.

The Emirates route mentioned in my post above is a normal scheduled flight that offloads passengers in Thailand and flies daily.  Connections from all across Europe are available (> 20 potential originating airports at the moment) although not all daily from some of them.

Is it possible to plan a return trip to Europe with a high certainty that the return to Thailand will happen like planned? I.e. trip to Europe, one week over there, flight back to Thailand?

    Sorry for your situation.

One thing that you should be aware of (if you're not already) is the start up this month of a daily Emirates' flight from Dubai to Bangkok.  Emirates have good coverage in Europe, including several provincial airports coming back on line, so booking a return flight with them should be significantly quicker/simpler than relying on an Embassy organised repatriation flight.  It still needs the same paperwork and quarantine, but could reduce any pressure from your workplace by minimising time off.

In light of the above, can you get a flight from London to Dubai, stay overnight, then onward travel to Bangkok? Can you get a COE, fit to fly and test done there?

You can do it all from London.  In other threads it's been reported that the London embassy has confirmed they will issue a COE, and a TV poster has mentioned he is booked (or maybe travelled already) from his London origin using this Emirates flight with test and FTF done in London.

Basically if a Thai uses Emirates its ASQ, Covid test, Fit to Fly and I have also seen that they need $100,000 insurance. Reason being is if they get Covid whilst in ASQ they will be transferred to the partner private hospital for treatment. If they do not do all this, they cant fly and have to wait for a repriation flight.

Yes, found it and edited my post about the same time as you posted.

The embassey issued a clarification on 3rd September

Thanks.  Google translates for me as those wishing to use ASQ can do so, not that it's compulsory.  Can you confirm that part?

ETA:  Or is it in the graphic I can't read too well?

ETA2:  Found it in the comments below.

I am afraid you are mistaken. There has been a statement clarifying this and I can assure you that Thai's have and are flying with Emirates as long as it is under the same conditions as foreigners. I closely follow the main facebook groups advising people on how to return to Thailand. I will try and dig it out.

Happy to be proven wrong as I was just going by this

Although your comment about the same conditions makes sense with Emirates mentioning Thais must have a Covid test despite my understanding they couldn't travel, when they don't normally need this test.

Although totally agree the UAE system is haphazard. Mass testing, yet open borders to the world - no surprise it has one of the highest rates in the world of covid infection.

You can't enter the UAE without a Covid test.

    image.png.7a47b913f192e26f9b9cb82451aad6ea.png

and the same at Abu Dhabi.  Currently 8,000 cases per million population so not particularily high at 38th in the league table.

There is no requirement for a Thai taking a repatriation flight to have a negative Covid test 72 hours before flying, just a fit to fly certificate. A foreigner has to have both. However there is a caveat to this. Emirates are now allowed to carry qualifying people into Thailand. A Thai cannot take one of these flights and go into free state quarantine. They can however choose to go into Alternate State Quarantine (ASQ) and pay. In these circumstances they can take these flights but they are subjected to the same conditions as foreigners. Ie Covid test and fit to fly.

The Thai consulate in Dubai is quite clear that these flights are for Non-Thai nationals only, although Emirates doesn't reflect that in their requirements.  The consul won't issue a COE to a Thai national going by what they say.  It could be interesting if a Thai starts their journey outside Dubai and their country of origin supplies a COE not knowing what's on the Dubai website.

I checked there was no dirt on the chip of my card so I can only presume there is something wrong with the ATM reader/scanner?

These are usually contactless cards where dirt on the chip wouldn't make any difference as communication is by radio waves using an antenna built into the plastic of the card.  Could be an issue on the ATM side but just as easily could be a fault in the card.

Well worth it at ฿999 per night for my additional days I didn’t take the breakfast option because I usually don’t eat breakfast, but the breakfast was indeed superb.

This offer is giving a room with breakfast for 2,000 THB per night but with 600 baht credit in a restaurant.  I would say your deal was better.
