No visas are being issued AFAIK.

Yes you'll only get to Thailand on repatriation flights at this time . . . . .
That is incorrect as mentioned in post #4 above.

I thought flights (for now) were organised by the Thai Embassy abroad, and then seats sold to those who express interest and are approved for travel... Or has that changed?
Yes, it has changed. Although the paperwork and ASQ is the same, some (all?) Embassies will now approve travel on flights they have not organised.
These appear to be transit flights which stop at Bangkok enroute to their final destination, which is probably key to getting round the ruling which disallows most passenger flights. Emirates for example run a daily service and other forum contributors have received COE from their Embassy to travel on these flights. KLM is another which has 2 or 3 flights with a Bangkok transit stop.

So do people get food on a 12+ hour flight?
Qatar certainly have food and drinks service, some airlines reportedly much less, although both flights will be well under 12 hours.

Thailand is not considered COVID free and has never been certified as such.
In fact no country in the world has done this.
I don't think there's a certification board as such, but if there were then several South Sea Island nations would have a valid claim. Places like Tonga, Vanuata, Solomon Islands and Micronesia that shut down and/or imposed quarantine in early February, and even those like Samoa and Kiribata who were a bit later all have no reported cases.

Message sent on behalf of my son....
"I have been on overstay since April 17 when my 30 day Tourist visa expired on my TM 6 form (stamp on arrival), I arrived on the 19th March.
Am I covered by the amnesties which stated that anyone with overstay since March 26 is automatically extended to April 30 without visiting an immigration office and without paying an overstay penalty?"Appreciate any adviceYes, he's covered by the amnesties, as is anyone who should have left on March 26th or later. The amnesty has been extended multiple times and the end date is now September 26th, so he would be wise to start planning his exit now.

Ticket ????
Who are you flying with and are you transiting anywhere? Will you go landside at any transit point, if applicable?

That seems to have changed, at least for the IM office I'm using which is Samutprakarn. They now require the online report to be done AT LEAST 20 days before and EARLIEST 30 days before the actual 90 days.
Note that this is first hand info sourced from the above IM office today. I asked this especially since I was unable to submit the report online starting 15 days before.Thai 15 days or regular 15 days? It needs to be Thai, which is 14 days before your due date. eg due date 24th September, the earliest you can apply is 10th September (tomorrow).

Can anybody be a little more specific as to just where to dropoff/pickup locations are in Pattaya and Hua Hin, respectively???
Try here for Jomtien end (Food Mart was the shop I couldn't remember the name of above)
I seem to recall it also stopped on request on Sukhumvit Road at Pattaya Klang and South Road, but not 100% sure. Maybe no hold luggage drop at these points.
The Hua Hin terminal is north of the town near the airport, and it will also stop in Cha-am. Minibus etc options from the bus staion are outlined on their website.

Not mentioned is the minibus transfer from the bus terminal in Hua Hin or Pattaya. You get packed on to a mini bus and take your chances. It's worse for Hua Hin because you are so far out. Also not mentioned is push to purchase online where they charge an additional "booking" fee. the 294 baht fare is regulated. All the extra charges are not.
This is not the Bell Travel service which offered minibus transfer to your hotel/condo etc, even though it looks to have taken over the Bell Travel booking interface. This is just the restoral of the other service to the bus station on Thappraya at the supermarket (I forget its name).
The Bell Service went to Pattaya Nua and cost 280 baht while this goes to Jomtien and costs 130 baht. It started a week or two back and looks to have added a further bus at 6:00pm since then.

Ouch to say the least. Astrazeneca were leading the way as well. That is not good at all we can only hope the illness was not connected to the vaccine itself
It's not the first time this Astrazeneca trial has been put on hold, but worrying all the same.

First of all it was an extra 60baht for two tickets as she would not sell a single ticket. Even if you could find someone selling at the so called correct price of 80baht it’s a total rip off. Now diversifying are you intimating that Amazon is a rip off.
You seem a little touchy is it because you have never won?

For someone with "not much more to add" you keep trying. Seems like you meant nothing sensible to add, but I think we all could have guessed that from your previous strange contributions. Never mind, you probably can't help your memory playing tricks on you.

Nope. You actually ended up looking a little bit simple, but allegedly not for the first time. And certainly not for the last as this thread proves.

This is a big respite to foreigners who have been trying to make it back to Thailand.
Thank you for sharing.
It's being discussed over different threads here now which means it's quite easy to miss, but this Emirates flight is not the only one offering a way back to Thailand without waiting on Embassy controlled repatriation flights.

So today I have a new ASQ for 02 Oct, I've booked my flight with Emirates, and have emailed the Thai Embassy London with copies of these + my visa to request the COE.
Thank you. There are still people denying this is possible.

I walked out of Asawann shopping centre in Nong Khai today to grab a grab a cold coffee at Amazon.
You were going to spend money on cold coffee at Amazon and you thought someone asking 20 baht extra for a lottery ticket was a rip off? Give me strength.

Don't hold your breath waiting guys. The poster has some strange views on pensions, whch exist only in his own small imagination. He's never been able to back one of them up with evidence, but will come back (when drunk I reckon) and post some incoherent nonsense claiming you're to blame for not knowing what he's on about.

also they offer it but I bet they put the price onto the expensive air fares ????
I looked at some fares ex UK a day or so ago. ~ £700 GBP for Economy and £2,331 for Business Class. Not as cheap as pre Covid but not out of order. These were return fares.

Very good, except that that as this is THAI Visa Forum, neither the Etihad nor Emirates offers do anybody here any good until the borders open, quarantine is no longer required....etc...etc....ad nauseum!
The Emirates flights can currently be used for repatriation of non Thais in line with the current requirements.

The law says you HAVE to have a return flight and that's the information in TIMATIC which the airlines use.
To be picky, it's any flight out of the country, not necessarily a return flight, and TIMATIC also says "Extension of stay is possible for visa exempt passengers" so airlines can use that as a get out, but I've never come across that being discussed.
