  1. During covid there was a foreigner registration requirement. Maybe it was something to do with that. Anyway the Cambodian retirement visa is the easy. And plenty of nice places to live. Rents are inexpensive and you can buy if you want. Lots of homes for sale. It's a buyer's market
  2. Never heard of this. Are you 55 or older? You need Valid passport A recent passport photo USD 290 (approximately) That's the price you pay an agent. You get a valid visa. If you went to immigration the price is USD180. They obviously discourage you from doing it yourself and are very strict on you providing all kinds of documents, etc. Possibly a police report is now one of the things required. Or it is a requirement for people under 55
  3. Hanoi (VNA) – The National Assembly (NA) will pass several laws and resolutions during the last working week of its fifth sitting from June 19-24. the Law on amendments to a number of articles of the Law on Foreigners' Entry into, Exit from, Transit through, and Residence in Vietnam.
  4. Next month there is a meeting where visas may go back to 90 days , visa exempt to 45 days and the number of countries eligible increased
  5. There is a new sign on the Padang Besar Malaysia Railway station overhead walkway saying that it will open again September one 2023. Going to change the layout so people can't enter Malaysia or Thailand without going through immigration.
  6. This is the official website if you want to get the visa in advance. I'm assuming you are from a country that meets the criteria. Don't get confused between e-visa and E visa https://www.evisa.gov.kh/
  7. Ordinary visa is US 35. Some land borders will ask for more. The cost of extension vary on which type of ordinary visa required, e.g. retirement . If you do it yourself you need to supply a lot of paperwork. This is to discourage you. Getting an agent in Phnom Penh to do retirement visa extension is about US280/295 for one year. Takes ten to fourteen days. Express service, three days, US70 -US100 Only the six and twelve month visas are multi entry.
  8. There are a lot of people who go around collecting plastic which earns them money but they seem to mainly pick up from trash cans not just off the street, parks etc.
  9. New Nara is a shopping centre/mall. There are sometimes places for rent advertised on a board. Nan is more a word of mouth town. Try south of the Christian schools or between the hospital and the airport
  10. Thais wouldn't advertise online. Best to ask around. Banks may help but more likely just sell. Try in the new Nara.
  11. You may get a better response in the Issarn forum.
  12. Anyone going to see the event in Kampot will be pleased to know that today the province was declared land mine free. Nice work by the de-miners
  13. Koh Kong is a popular destination for Khmer. It will be busy at New Year.
  14. Yes, it is allowed. You need to be the vehicle owner, have insurance etc. There is usually a helper at immigration. They are good value unlike the street worms up at Poipet. If you are moving beyond Koh Kong town highway 48 is under construction the entire wayand the road north towards Battambong is very rough. Worth getting the Cambodian evisa beforehand.
  15. I was told the road will not be finished until 2025. Instead of the road just being replaced the Koreans are taking out any hills and pushing in a new straight road which means removing a lot of soil. Major upgrade
  16. That was supposed to be 48. The highway out of Koh Kong town.
  17. I saw a family of four foreigners today, two kids about eight, walking four abreast along a busy road. Cars lined up behind them. But for how long. Would they do that anywhere else?
  18. The fairly new highway out of Trat is a bit rough. Best to drive in the right hand lane. You'll avoid vehicles driving down the wrong way also. The Thai side of the border is less congested now and there is a separate immigration departure building on the left hand side.
  19. I was there in December. Saw quite a few Thai cars in Koh Kong town. Also in Kampong Speu and Kampot recently. If you are getting a tourist visa best to get the online visa. The Cham Yeam immigration are trying to make up for lost revenue during covid. Asking THB2,000. First price. Negotiable. National Road 4 is being worked on. They are doing all of it at the same time. It's rough and very dusty and lots of trucks moving around.
  20. A full description of the Phu Quoc visa exemption program until 2023 Do international visitors flying to Phu Quoc require a visa to enter Vietnam? It is the first and most crucial question. All nations are eligible for a visa waiver program in Vietnam’s special economic zone of Phu Quoc. Foreign visitors do not need a Vietnam visa for trips lasting less than 30 days to Phu Quoc. Through 2023, this visa waiver scheme will remain in effect. Please be aware that Vietnam only grants visa exemption for visitors who: a/ You must take a direct flight into Phu Quoc. This flight may be straight or may make a layover somewhere outside of Vietnam (not stopover via any Vietnamese domestic airports). The initial entrance airport must be Phu Quoc. In the event that the airline makes a domestic trip via another Vietnamese airport, you must first complete the immigration procedure there before transferring to the domestic terminal to board the domestic flight to Phu Quoc. Therefore, in this situation, a Vietnam visa is needed. b/ You must remain on the island of Phu Quoc only; The waiver of the Vietnam visa requirement only applies to Phu Quoc island. If you wish to visit Phu Quoc and then go to other cities or locations in Vietnam, you must apply for a Vietnam visa. c/ You must stay in Phu Quoc for less than 30 days The Phu Quoc visa exemption is only valid for a maximum of 30 days. You must apply for a Vietnam visa if you want to remain for more than 30 ways
  21. There are some new fake USD 100 notes. Copy is printed much smaller and lighter. If you are using a bank atm go during bank hours. Go straight inside and change to small money. There is a camera on atms in a booth. If there is any dispute they can check the film.
  22. This posters information is wrong/outofdate and was and still is illegal. They are stricter now also
