I've edited this From channelnewsasia.com Couple driving from London to Singapore in 12-car convoy: These are 'stories I can tell my grandchildren' This August, Jeremy See and his wife Sharleen’s Singapore-registered car will begin a 100-day trip across 23 countries with a S$110,000 budget. In August, they will embark on a journey to London, where their Singapore-registered 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser 4.6L V8 was transported a month prior. Over the course of 100 days, they are prepared to cover 25,000km, passing through 23 countries as they make their way back to Singapore. See shared three key considerations to ponder, aside from the obvious financial aspect, before embarking on such an adventure. Firstly, one’s love for driving must border on obsession. He shared how he would embark on a nine-hour journey to Hat Yai solely for a meal, without spending a night. Anyone suggest where this might be. I'm guessing not the railway restaurant.

Central Market area is a good place to stay. It's kind of the old Phnom Penh. Near Sorya shopping centre is Street 81. Lots of guesthouse on that street and nearby. Also off street 130 is Happiness Inn 1. Another good area is the streets south of Orussey market. It's quiet at night. Market worth a visit. Has everything you need. Also street markets mainly food there but not near the hotels. Hotels in this area are about $10 and up in high season. If having trouble communicating ask for Capitol Bus office. It's low season now. If you look on one of the hotel booking websites you can get an idea of what's available. Many hotels are 50% off. I wouldn't book though because you may find next door is a construction site. Noisy and dangerous.

AFAIK the priority is completing the southern and north east lines so could be some time Years.

Planning trip to Phimai/Phanom Rung
my friend I replied to watthong's topic in Cambodia General Chat
Those places are in Thailand nowadays. Consider posting in the Isarn forum for information. -
Mail service doesn't really deliver. The post office will just hold onto it. Unless you put your phone number on it. They will phone you. You will go to pick it up and you tip them maybe 1,000. Otherwise use something like DHL for international or Virak Buntham Express logistics for local. Virak Buntham are also a bus company. The offices are usually separate. Same deal with your phone number on the outside.

Vietnam Visa update - big changes
my friend I replied to La Quenta's topic in Vietnam Visa and Immigration
21 Current affairs Politics Saturday, 24/6/2023, 09:11 (GMT+7) The National Assembly agreed to raise the e-visa period to 90 days After being granted an e-visa, within 90 days, foreigners can enter and exit an unlimited number of times, without having to go through new visa procedures. On the morning of June 24, with 6 out of 470 delegates present agreeing (475.95%), the National Assembly passed a bill amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Exit and Entry of Vietnamese citizens and the Law on entry, exit, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam. The e-visa period will be raised from 30 to 90 days. The Government shall decide on the list of countries and territories whose citizens are granted; The list of international border gates allows foreigners to enter and exit by e-visa. The law also allows citizens of countries unilaterally exempted by Vietnam to be granted a temporary stay of 45 days (previously stipulated for 15 days) and be considered for issuance of visas and temporary stay extensions according to regulations. -
According to my Thai friend the 14 days for a Thai can be extended for 30 days. She did it with a Sihanoukville agent for $55! Next time went to Sophea agents in Kampot. Near ABA bank. She can't remember how much they were going to charge but it was less. She hired a motorbike ininfor Kampot for $5 and $2 fuel and went to the Vietnam border. In Phnom Penh try Marany agents on 51 street. Should be less cost. It may take two weeks.

E-type ( ordinary) visa available online
my friend I replied to my friend I's topic in Cambodia Visa and Immigration
I didn't explain this properly. Storm hit the internet. Sheryl to the rescue. -
I went to see a Thai friend but she is out. Will try again later. AFAIK Thais get a free visafree entry for 14 days. Going to Cambodian Immigration isn't the same as in Thailand. They prefer you use an agent. If you were going near a border e.g. Kep, Kampot you could just go over the nearby Vietnam border. Either turn around and come straight back or stay in Ha Tien for a few days. Nice town 6 kms from border.

Sorry. Slight technical problems. I can't see why the evisa would be an issue. It should be valid anywhere. -

Police report for Cambodia visa?
my friend I replied to Felton Jarvis's topic in Cambodia Visa and Immigration
During covid there was a foreigner registration requirement. Maybe it was something to do with that. Anyway the Cambodian retirement visa is the easy. And plenty of nice places to live. Rents are inexpensive and you can buy if you want. Lots of homes for sale. It's a buyer's market -
Police report for Cambodia visa?
my friend I replied to Felton Jarvis's topic in Cambodia Visa and Immigration
Never heard of this. Are you 55 or older? You need Valid passport A recent passport photo USD 290 (approximately) That's the price you pay an agent. You get a valid visa. If you went to immigration the price is USD180. They obviously discourage you from doing it yourself and are very strict on you providing all kinds of documents, etc. Possibly a police report is now one of the things required. Or it is a requirement for people under 55 -

I,3 6 and 12month ER Visa extensions
my friend I replied to islandlodger's topic in Cambodia Visa and Immigration
This is the official website if you want to get the visa in advance. I'm assuming you are from a country that meets the criteria. Don't get confused between e-visa and E visa https://www.evisa.gov.kh/ -
I,3 6 and 12month ER Visa extensions
my friend I replied to islandlodger's topic in Cambodia Visa and Immigration
Ordinary visa is US 35. Some land borders will ask for more. The cost of extension vary on which type of ordinary visa required, e.g. retirement . If you do it yourself you need to supply a lot of paperwork. This is to discourage you. Getting an agent in Phnom Penh to do retirement visa extension is about US280/295 for one year. Takes ten to fourteen days. Express service, three days, US70 -US100 Only the six and twelve month visas are multi entry. -

There are a lot of people who go around collecting plastic which earns them money but they seem to mainly pick up from trash cans not just off the street, parks etc.
