  1. Malaysia has increased the komuter train frequency during morning and afternoon rush hours to every 30 minutes Padang Besar to Butterworth and vv.
  2. The kommuter train from Butterworth to Padang Besar can't be booked online. Train good. Van bad
  3. Yes easy to exchange. Can pay baht for visa on a Thai/Cambodia immigration office. Thai baht often used close to Thai border in stores, etc. Some stores in Koh Kong have the price on items in Baht. No problem changing in most cities and bigger towns especially those that get tourists.
  4. I have no experience with this company. It's more common than I expected. https://lacliniquephnompenh.com/body/liposuction/
  5. Always worth looking in the relevant local forum. Avoid the "experts"
  6. Just because they say something it doesn't make it the law. Ask to speak to the OIC.
  7. The casino is owned by a former Thai politician who is wanted in Thailand for stealing . I believe also wanted in USA. Poipet is in Cambodia. Not "a God forsaken country"
  8. Still asking for THB 2000 there. They will come down a bit if you are prepared to wait.
  9. Previously if you crossed the road any vehicle coming along would veer off to go behind you. That rarely happens now. So much more traffic in the last year or so. Where did it come from? Krud giveaways? I was in Koh Kong recently. There is a morning and afternoon rush hour when it is impossible to cross the two main streets safely. Very few Cambodians wear spectacles. Maybe that is a contributing factor.
  10. Coming thru the border crossing near Koh Kong recently there was a tail back of trucks about half a mile long. Logistic companies in Koh Kong are flat out moving goods on
  11. Trains between Haad Yai and Padang Besar have been cancelled due to the bombing at Sadao
  12. Trains between Haad Yai and Padang Besar have been cancelled due to bombing
  13. They run scams on internet. Some are Malaysian and Singaporean
  14. It's not deep water there. Naval bases don't allow tourists in anywhere. Try to get in the naval base in Chiang Khong.
  15. Before the new Padang Besar Malaysia station was built there was an immigration in Padang Besar Thailand where you took a short walk to the old station. Was much more convenient There was a border wall. Smugglers used to sit on the wall and hand the goods to a motorbike rider who took off thru the rubber plantation. They were smuggling onions, cooking oil and cookies.
  16. When you exit the airport you will see a transport desk. There are taxis. Otherwise you can walk out to the street to get a tuktuk or of not much luggage a motorbike taxi. There is also a local city bus. There are some supermarkets same as anywhere in the world. They have western, Thai and Vietnam products. There is an international airport at Siem Reap.
  17. Vehicles drive against the traffic flow because it's a long way to drive in the opposite direction to find a way over to the correct side. Same thing happens on the hiway from the border to Trat
  18. It's a Bit of a mystery. Most Cambodians don't use banks. The economy has faded because of covid and they have lost trade benefits because of the human rights record.
  19. There is a mobile food hawker who sells' jellyfish'. It definitely looks like pieces of clear jellyfish . Has anyone seen this?. I like squid but not sure about jellyfish
