  1. It's now a toss up 4,000 or 5,000 Baht. If a foreigner staying in the Kingdom over 90 days without notifying the immigration bureau or notifying the immigration bureau later than the set period, a fine of 2,000 Baht will be collected. If a foreigner who did not make the notification of staying over 90 days is arrested, he will be fined 4,000.- Baht. https://thaiconsulatela.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/foreigners-staying-in-thailand-more-than-90-days
  2. Sold in Thailand to suppress a cough and break up phlegm I use 'Takabb' anti-cough pills. Cost 19 Baht per package. They really work. 19 Baht per pack and sold just about everywhere. Organic and no side effects.
  3. But he ain't doing it online, doh. Hence why he just pays the 2,000 Baht fine.
  4. Some people live a good distance from their IO, so up to the individual on how he wants to play it. There and back 4 times a year to the IO plus travel time may make it worth 2,000 Baht.
  5. Irrespective of how long you are away from home it's not your responsibility to submit a TM30.
  6. Take it to your local repair garage and they will have oil recyclers come around periodically to collect it.
  7. And you believe him? The guy doesn't know where he is from one minute to the next.
  8. It's not supposed to be a 'free service'? It is a 'free service'. Just ask for a receipt. I first found this out 15 years ago at Korat IO. I asked the officer, Khun Arcade, after he'd finished transferring the stamps, how much for him, he replied 'no charge, free service. I did my second transfer a couple of years back at Buriram IO and I was asked for 400 Baht. I said 'no I'm not paying, it's a free service'. Office was full with other farang and I was told to sit back down. I did, but no sooner than I did I got called up and the transfer was done. No charge.
  9. Who said he was jealous? He had a history of drug abuse and mental illness according to the article.
  10. When me and the wife signed up we signed up for the rate that it was at the time, guaranteed to remain at that until we ever decided to break into the agreement. If we break the agreement now we will only get 4%.
  11. Buriram Teachers Savings Cooperative. Don't bother trying to get the 6% option as it was reduced to 4% a few years but being as we signed up when it was 6% interest so we retain that figure until we make a withdraw. There was a thread on this subject a while back. I'll try and find it.
  12. An aside from the opening post Me and the wife were able to open a teachers cooperative savings account giving 6% interest. Who could resist? The first year the IO accepted the cooperative as a bank and gave me my extension. The second year some smart ass said 'a saving cooperative is not a bank' so not allowed for an extension. I had to go to the cooperative and pull out 400000 Baht, take it to my Bangkok Bank and put it in. The IO agreed that they would look at it as though my money was seasoned due to the time it had been in the cooperative. Just a warning to others to make sure your money is put in a proper bank. BTW We are still in the cooperative and we still get 6% interest every year.
  13. And if the shrubs and fruit trees overlaps the boundary the neighbour is legally correct in cutting back all that grows over the boundary line.
  14. I've no sympathy for the 60 year old. She knows how things work here. Thais have a habit of borrowing money and not paying it back. Been caught out myself a few time's over the years
  15. I tried it as a tea. It tastes bloody awful. I just couldn't get on with it.
  16. My wife has spoken to the family of the owner but the owner is currently in Germany. My belief is that they knew what they were doing but are playing the 'waiting game'. Thais ain't stupid when it comes to land laws and markers. At the end of the day this is a Thai thing and I don't really play a part in this and neither does the husband of the neighbour.
  17. I think that is how our dispute will end, in the courts and having to pay out lawyers fees that we can't recoup.
  18. Thais only worry about tomorrow, when tomorrow comes. All too late then.
  19. You haven't read all my replies. I have stated that 'all my walls are inside the Chanote markers'.
  20. The neighbour is a Thai woman and she is married to a German LAWYER. Being a lawyer he should know the legal side of boundaries. He must know what they've done is wrong.
  21. I use a 2 stroke petrol hedge trimmer.
  22. Motor accidents are no longer news in Thailand.
  23. I couldn't agree more but it's my wife that needs to sort out this problem. But Thais being Thais they don't seem to like confrontation so it's difficult. I said to my wife that in the future if the wall starts leaning or falls down what happens? She simply thinks that the neighbours have to build her another one. I doubt I'll be around when it happens but she won't see sense and sort the problem now.
