  1. Go to a clothes stall anywhere in Thailand and look for second hand clothes. You will find no end of farang clothes cuz that's where they originate from. I would never consider looking anywhere else.
  2. I recall way back in about 1965 2 men talking about the same thing. Always people forecasting doom. Life seems better now than in 1965 but I don't recall hearing anyone praising that fact.
  3. Germans have a liking for walking about naked for the shear pleasure of it. https://www.bbc.com/travel/article/20201108-why-germans-love-getting-naked-in-public
  4. For the answer :- https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=cutting+compound+polish
  5. I went to Buriram IO today to renew my annual marriage extension. I'm not a fan of immigration as I see most of them as crooks. But today at my first time attending the new office I was pleasantly surprised. All new staff, since I last went, and I could not fault the speed and friendliness which in the past has been a rarity. I dunno if people know but they've now stopped farangs having to supply a copy of the up to date KR 2. Would have been good if they'd announced it before as my wife had to do a bit of running around for something that wasn't required this year.
  6. Or from a Thai doctor. I was treated by at least 3 doctors for well over a year for Asthma until I went and saw a gastroenterologist who tested me positive for H Pylori infection. I never had Asthma. Bloody money I wasted due to them.
  7. How do you know they were "unripened"? I think you can only tell by opening them up?
  8. It's a criminal offence so the police station is the best place to go I would say. Up to you.
  9. It is illegal in Thailand to sell unripe Durian. Has been for a number of years and carries a 3 year prison sentence and a fine of up to 60,000 Baht. .
  10. Yes apparently. The hard shoulder is the motorcycle lane. Well it must be as most Thais think it is.????
  11. In Thailand it's 'monkey see monkey do'. Just do what all the monkeys are doing. It works for them.
  12. It's you that needs educating. Unfortunately due to copywrite I'm unable to show the source of my knowledge. Try Googling ' where do the clothes come from sold in Cambodian markets'. That may help.
  13. They're sorted donated clothes/shoes that are donated to charity. Collection bins, in the UK, are to be found at the rear of ones local supermarket. They are cleaned, sized and processed and sold on.
  14. Not my job. His supervisor who witnessed the request for 500 Baht should have had him disciplined. But then again the supervisor is probably in on the IO scam.
  15. So I shouldn't have complained is what you are saying and I should have paid the 500 Baht?
  16. Complaining at immigration worked for me. I was there to get my stamps transferred from my old passport to my new one. The IO officer said, before he started, 500 Baht, no receipt. I told him I wasn't going to pay as it's a free service. There was a few words exchanged between that officer and his supervisor. My passport was handed over to him and he did the transfer. No charge. My friend who was behind me and having his stamps transferred as well took my place with the original IO. No request for money. So it is right to complain.
  17. It's in our nature to complain. Hate is too strong a word.
  18. Exactly the same thing at the traffic lights near the Uni in Buriram.
  19. Give it time 'reflectionx'. Once upon a time we were all the same as you and couldn't see the 'forest for the trees'. No doubt that in time you will become one of us.
  20. Fear is the best laxative known to man. If it wasn't for 'Venetian Blinds' it'd be curtains for everybody. I worship the ground my wife is gonna lie under. I have a soft spot for my wife. It's a swamp at the bottom of the garden.
