  1. By going too fast. Not all cars are stopped at checkpoints/roadblocks.
  2. My missus went on the bus. Four hours each way. Photocopies were a few Baht but not many required. If my missus can do it without expertise then anyone can do it. My missus loved doing the bus journey. She's one of those people that likes to sleep as soon as the bus sets off.
  3. Exactly right. Just get a family member to act on your behalf. Pay them 500 Baht for the day and job done. A visa agent would do the same and make a couple of thousand for just that. Many a Thai would bite your hand off for 500 Baht.
  4. I feel exactly the same but I can't due to the fact I have 3 teenager children and I daren't rock the boat visa wise. I like to sleep at night
  5. Precisely. The words are repeated every day by school children "Thailand is for Thais' as sung in their national anthem.
  6. Just a note. Buriram IO do not charge for photocopies when doing a Marriage Extension even though the amount they do must be about 20 per individual applicant.
  7. Not knocking you but I always thought road accidents/traffic offences came with fixed penalties.
  8. Not true. Many people use the agent in Soi Post Office, Pataya but live in Buriram. Reason being that Pattaya is cheaper Buriram IO.
  9. I took Omeprazol for a few years but I worried about the side effects long term. So I stopped. Now I take baking soda in a glass of water when I get acid reflux. Works a treat.
  10. May be it's easier to deport someone for breaking immigration laws than it is to deport someone for drug violations. Just a guess.
  11. Has there ever been a positive post about a Cameroonian? About 5 years ago all the schools around here used them as English speakers employed by agencies. They lasted about a couple of months before all were rounded up and shipped out. It's not just Nigerians.
  12. Harassing Nigerians was said to have been a reason why 'Big Joke' Pol Lt Gen Surachate was sidelined a year or so ago.
  13. Mark me down as a dis-liker as well. And John Oliver is about as funny as chewing gum on the sole of ones shoe.
  14. Thanks to whoever notified us of 'Immortal'. 'Gomorrah' series came flooding back when I watched it. Brilliant.
  15. Thanks to all. I will get back to yous when I get a report back from my insurer
  16. Some years ago I asked my pension provider how much monthly my wife will get once I die. If I recall right they said 45% of what I was getting before I died. To spoil it all I was told today that it has since changed and they will only pay her proportionately due the 25 year age difference. I hope I've explained that correctly? Is it true?
  17. I've had that happen to me a few times, over the years, up here and around Buriram/Korat. My last one was late by about 12 days due to the IO waiting for my Marriage extension to be accepted. They never charged me for being late. Sometimes they come good.
  18. Never mind about Pattaya. What about the poor residents of Korat and around. Every year they get flooded out. Life wouldn't be life if it didn't happen one year.
  19. Yep definitely finished after I obtained it. Just a quicky as to why I went for that extension at the time. I had a friend who stayed here by crossing the border at Cheong Chom every month. No show of money needed. We'd heard that this crossing the border every month was going to be cancelled and they were going to install this 'support by a Thai child' clause. This would help my friend tremendously as he was looking after his 2 sons and his wife had ran off. So I volunteered to test the waters and get the new 'extension' so my friend could stay here as he had no form of income other than what he got from selling catfish to the locals. He didn't get the extension in the end and was kicked out. He took his kids with him back to S Africa.
