Well, there are other reasons women are more choosy about sexual partners, and especially about casual sex: risk of pregnancy, women are at more risk of contracting STDs, risk of physical violence, risk of affecting their reputation (people thinking they are a slut, bad reputation, etc). On top of all these risks you put the fact that a lot of straight guys are pretty rubbish in bed, so you probably won't even get a few orgasms out of the risks you're taking --- well, a lot of girls just go home alone.

I think you have expressed the western womens vewpoint very well, western feminist women that is, as well as the reasons many western men come to Thailand.

Bed is hit and miss, but mostly hit I'd say. Saturday nights seem to have the best music - the white room has a good crowd with the uplifting trance music. I'd avoid all "models nights" like the plague though (Wednesday I think). Bed has a good mix of people that's hard to find elsewhere...people from all different countries, some international Thais, expats, tourists but also the freelancers and ladyboys that follow the farang.

I went to State Tower last night to see how busy it would be on a Saturday night - VERY busy and great for pre-club drinks. New bar called Breeze is purely stunning. Now if they had a good DJ and dancefloor up there it might well be one of the best clubs in the world...

Time magazine are always offering free giftf: some of them are worthwhile. back in the UK I got an atlas, which I found most useful for some years.

These free gifts were a) a small telescope, and a sturdy bag. The telescope will come in handy for teaching the kids (am teacher), and the bag looks useful.

Yesterday, I got a receipt through the mail for my subscription, asking me to confirm my details. I'll do that, and maybe (TIT) the goodies will then be forthcoming.
