  1. Have you ever succeeded in telling a Thai they are wrong & such a loss of face!
  2. Like many other state employed people in Thailand they are hugely corrupt, where would you start, RTP, the army, immigration officials, elected members, public office workers and on & on. There is no integrity, no honesty and no shame! Shame on you leaders of Thailand for allowing this situation to become so deeply engrained in Thai society.
  3. well who knows what might happen to the reporter if they told the full story, Thailand you just cannot help it, again shooting yourselves in the foot!
  4. And the authorities wonder why Thai tourism is in the doldrums!
  5. The CCP is a bully with a fragile ego but we all know Thailand will bow to their wishes, spineless bunch, long live Taiwan!!
  6. Is it April 1st today??
  7. This entire alcohol hours scenario in Thailand is a muppet show, and now "Shrek" the laughing donkey wants to extend to 4am when so many establishments open beyond that with no consequenses except a brown envelope! I can relate to 11am opening but why close between 2 - 5pm, some BS about school kids buying booze, that should be up to the license holder to only sell to people of legal age, if in doubt ask for ID. Then the non alcohol days, why dont the governor's in tourist areas allow alcohol sales on those days, this is a Buddhist thing and 99% of the tourist's either aren't Buddhist or will drink on those day anyway so why. Allowing sales between 2 - 5pm and the Thai alcohol ban days would increase revenue, like I said so many places dont close at 2am so making it legal to open until 4am & with the latest suggestion of no alcohol sales between 2 - 4am is just another laughing donkey show. When will Thailand use some common sense???
  8. That would be too logical !!
  9. There is not too much of "probably" about it, so why all the fuss about 4am closing when many clubs & bars continually & knowingly break the law.
  10. There are quite a few situations in Thailand that us farangs do not understand, the authorities seem to have an irresponble attitude to things like this face book post which we will never understand. If its not financially or personally beneficial its often gets put in the "why should we bother" basket. Its rather sad but thats life here in the LOS !!!
  11. Then why can some clubs & bars stay open & serving alcohol in Koh Samui until 5am if the law is currently 2am???
  12. thats the biggest joke I have heard in years, do they know what the word ethics actually means?
  13. It would be interesting to know the real facts here, MFP just happened to be the the party with the most votes so if their members can be discredited that would be convenient for the current governing party for the next election??
  14. "as their tireless efforts are what keep the local community safe" its not April fools day is it ??
  15. Too much competition for the local Mafia I guess so get rid of the foreigners and the locals get the lions share.
  16. The outcome of a very inefficient & corrupt immigration system/police force and the quest to attract "Quality" tourists from nations with many undesirables and you get what Thailand is now experiencing.
  17. I came to Thailand 5 years ago believing that this was a beautiful Buddhist nation, sadly every week I am reminded how in reality Bhudism is a convenient front for many, face and money are the single most important things to many Thai people.
  18. Well I hope she is right with her arrival numbers, seems a little inflated to me but I guess it depends on who you count as a tourist arrival and who is actually doing the counting. TAT are infamous for "inflation"
  19. Very sadly most governments lie, that is the present state of humanity! The USA and their CIA would have to be the biggest hypocrites on the planet. You think they are the good guys until you learn the truth!
  20. Koh Samui general hospital which is the government public hospital in Nathong, doubt what you like Mike!
  21. Last year I went to a public hospital in Koh Samui, saw a doctor and requested a colonoscopy due to the fact that I had lost a lot of weight in the last 6 months, the following week I had the colonoscopy which cost around THB 20,000. I had no polyps so no extra charges. I also received quotes from several hospitals in Surat Thani and Bangkok who willingly quoted me for the procedure. Reading comments from others on this forum where they say public hospitals will not perform this is incorrect.
  22. There is some truth in what you say and the same should apply to Russian's Putin who has taken part of the Ukraine and wants to take more. He needs to get out of Georgia & Balarus and where ever else he has his armies!
  23. Yes thats very true, I still say the leaders of that sad era and those that assured them that Iraq had WPM should be held accountable for their treacherous lies. But it doesnt make the more recent actions of Hamas & Isis any less brutal or acceptable!
