  1. That's common here to have land values unrealistically high in general. I think its partially because its the only real asset most thais, especially rural farmers have. I think they see it as their retirement fund sort of. Land sits on the market here a long time unless there's really some real desirable aspect to its location currently or coming in the near future. Thais also don't mind having tiny lots if the build their own homes with minimum distance between houses if its in or near a village setting. It gets crazy how their minds work some times. Same with new developments being built often have house so close that the rain run off from the roof falls into the neighbors yard
  2. Most thais appreciate a foreigner speaking thai and making the attempt. There are a number of dialects in Thai so that ways can cause some confusion on what you say. If you speak to them in with the manner and attitude you talk about them on here in your posts I can understand their view of you being poor
  3. Well when some people think they know everything that happens in an area they don't live in and refuse to hear the facts from someone that does, they lose relevance, and that would be you in this case. Have a great day
  4. Yes I done talking to you because you are not relevant
  5. I've been here since 1984. You don't know what province I live in and seem to think whatever happens in your small sector of the country its handled the same in all provinces, which its not. All payouts have not come from the same sources of govt either or distributed in the same manner or by tge same agencies. But you would already know that since you've been here so long. Move along cos this discussion is done
  6. There have been several payouts over the last few years which is what I was referencing about past payouts. They did not come from 1 source locally depending on what the payout was intended for. I know what's happened to my family and that's what I've relayed. If you don't agree i don't care, you can move along as you were not here to see it happen so don't act like you know. Have a great day
  7. yes you've shown us in your posts that in your imagination you can do everything, be everyone you can think up.
  8. It may have for your family but it ha not here in this province. So its exactly like I posted as well. You do understand what goes on in different areas are not the same everywhere dont you?
  9. now your always on the beach. short memory Bob of, where you are, what you own, who your with.
  10. nope not accurate. Every time compensation has been offered they have a different excuse on the ones that dont "qualify" (and its never the same ones) and has nothing to do with being in 1 family or size of the farms. They are all in different family names and were never 1 farm that was subdivided nor do they grow the same crops. The reason is diversion of funds.......
  11. Many farmers don't get any of the govt compensation you mention even though there are suppose to. My wife's family have 5 farms between them and each time there has been compensation only 2 of the 5 receive anything and its never the correct amount. Rubber prices are fixed as are many other cash crops and its not in the farmers favor.
  12. Everyone is free to comment if they don't like my responses just like the multitudes that find your post just plan bs. Only this time its actually coming out of both ends for you. Im just glad you don't and it irritates the little old man you are.
  13. its a public forum so if you dont like my responses to other people's comment, dont read them. You have the freedom to pass on by any time you wish. If you dont want people to reply to your post then dont post. pretty simple concept even for you Bob
  14. Your were one of tge people recommending it doing it ??? Yes goigle can get you some additional info but it may or may not be accurate based on who posted it. Gather additional info is good but it does beat going to a doctor. If you don't think they know the medicine properly then ask questions or get a second opinion
  15. Verybad advice to self diagnose problems and then decide what to take on your own
  16. While you have a valid point about needing to find alternatives if you can't qualify for a bank loan but thats a huge tell the you cant afford to borrow from loan sharks at the rates they charge. 63k paid on a 1300 baht loan is atrocious to say the least. Being poor isn't the problem here.
  17. They typically dont list issues of concern if there is no basis. Thats part of the reason you should not self medicate in instances like this. You have no idea if its a parasitic infection, a bacterial infection or some other issue the may not react as you think to your medication of choice. I would take my chance in a doctor 's possible ignorance over social media recommendations and ignorance. Google MD licenses are not recognized in most all countries
  18. Its not a good idea to be self diagnosing and medicating yourself without consulting a doctor as you really have no idea of the true problem or the effects of the meds your guessing will fix the problem
  19. Its more about your history as they have full view even though you have a new passport. Depending on how many back to back visits and length of time in and out and or back home its pretty easy for them to see what your doing. They have a job to do, whether people like it or agree with it just like in every country. They are there to screen and look for abuse and determine if you present an issue which sounds like they viewed your activity as suspicious.
  20. I'm not reading it the way you are and don't see anything listed about being for 3 or 4 times. But it was a discounted promotion and not open ended
  21. i have a very good understanding of how Thailand works and the various changed that have slowly occurred since first came in 1984. There are more changes coming and if you cant see that you are the ignorant one. I never said all corruption will stop or their wont be ways to buy your way around issues but it will not be the same Thailand in 5 years as it is today.
  22. I never said that nor claimed he said that so not sure what your talking about. Perhaps if you go back and read what he wrote and then my reply and it will make sense. He's complaining that they upped the price, when he clearly wrote that the first time he used them it was a promo (and what the normal price was: 500 baht) but now they raised the rate when he went to use them again for the 2nd time and is complaining that isnt how business should be done by raising rates.
