You followed what the agent told you, which she would have known was to continue deposits end of story, then no of the other info would have been necessary and no extra fees to pay higher up Imm for an illegal transaction. No you were following what the agent told you, which was wrong. Any competent agent would have told you don't miss the 2 deposits. The issue about the letter from your embassy is correct, if you country still issues them, but most don't. All that other paperwork was just a waste of time as its not what they call for. First off the Miranda rights aren't applicable in Thailand although its smart to not talk and get a lawyer. I always find it incredibly interesting that when a Thai commits these acts the police are very slow to react and if its at school its covered up. But if a foreigner is anywhere near the situation or involved everyone is quick to jump on it and convict them.

Whoever did this should be castrated and left in prison. With that said I don't know too many 3 year olds that can speak any language well enough to explain what happened especially in a situation like this. I just hope this guy isn't being convicted before proof it was him. There would be DNA left behind that could be matched although that process in thailand has been suspect in the past. Just because he has visited in the past and brought goods, supplies and candy for children isn't proof nor is visiting a drug party with numerous people drunk and on drugs. I suspect it will be found to be him no matter what. I think everyone there should be investigated and charged as they supposedly had her in their care, or lack there of.
