  1. He should have swallowed 3 bullets and asked for the 10,000 baht change.
  2. When I left Thailand through Suvarnabhumi in March this year, it was through the electronic gates so there is no exit stamp in my passport for that trip. I also had to get a new passport because my old one is expiring in August so I will take both the new and the old one with me next trip.
  3. He had nowhere to hitch his horse
  4. May I correct that for you? Its not hard to be a woman and get money from a stupid, gullible man
  5. Early this year we received a full refund on our condo deposit even though we needed to leave after 6 months and did not stay the full year of the contract. I suppose being good tenants for the past 9 years helped a lot. So sometimes Thailand does do refunds.
  6. Oh, you know him then?
  7. At least he is wearing a helmet so he is probably safe.
  8. He might be safer there than going back to Russia and getting killed in Ukraine.
  9. Be careful because saying that is probably defamatory.
  10. There are a couple of 7-11 stores near my home in Australia. Their prices are often double what a supermarket charges for many items so I rarely visit them. 7-11 stores in Bangkok seem to have prices similar to supermarkets such as BigC. They are convenient and cheap and I almost daily buy stuff from the one on the ground floor of our condo building.
  11. Who in their right mind thinks they can take this through airport security without every alarm on the X-Ray machine going off? She had zero chance of getting through. I also have to wonder about Thai security allowing that suitcase onto the plane.
  12. Where is the gofundme request? I can't see it in the article. She is 18? She looks more like an older ladyboy than an 18 year old girl, especially in the second photo with the "lips".
  13. Flying via the USA is not safe or easy. Don't you need to get an additional visa even to transit via the USA? Make sure you don't have any tattoos or you might get a detour to El Salvador.
  14. You must have the best smelling ants in Thailand. 🤣
  15. The End Of The World As We Know It. I am surprised I was immediately able to read that abbreviation without looking it up or seeing it before.
  16. You won't get far on a wad of 20 baht banknotes. 😂
  17. The remaining ones seem to have very little cash on premises. I usually have to give my branch notice the day before if I want to withdraw more than about $5000 in cash.
  18. They don't stop being the children of their parents when they turn 18. Anyone can act as a guarantor for another person's loan but it is usually the parents in that role since nobody else would want the risk. I was guarantor for a small personal bank loan my 21 year old daughter wanted. Even though she was an adult, it was her first loan so needed a guarantor.
  19. After the recent earthquake our landlord gave us a 50% discount on our rent for the next 3 months so that we don't move out. Many tenants from our high rise building never returned after the earthquake and my Thai wife was also scared and wanted to leave. However, before the earthquake we were very lucky to find a vacancy in the building we are living in because it is (was) very popular. My wife has calmed down now, she decided it is too much effort to move so we are staying.
  20. A "no comment" would effectively be a negative review and my agents would not lease to that tenant. We usually have a dozen applicants to chose from and the best person gets the property.
  21. Good question. My agents never accept first time tenants in my properties. I expect the agents that do accept them will require some form of guarantor, perhaps the parents. A good credit history would also be helpful for first timers.
  22. I have two rental properties in Australia and my agents always do a thorough background check on potential tenants and requires references from previous rentals.
