She changed the aircon again. Time for divorce?
Dexxter replied to Chris Daley's topic in General Topics
My wife insists on 25 and we have to sleep under a warm doona. I suggest turning the temperature up a little but then she says she is too hot and cannot cuddle me while sleeping. I enjoy the cuddles so end up giving in. Sometimes after she falls asleep I sneak the temperature up a couple of degrees hoping the beeps don't wake her. 😆 In the meantime she complains about the high electricity bills. -

German Tourist's Fatal Fall at Pattaya Hotel Shocks Visitors

Most hotels and condos have CCTV. The corridor outside my condo front door in Bangkok has 6 cameras covering the whole length as well as the lift area. You need a keycard to get into the building, to enter the lift lobby, and to select your floor in the lift. All these areas have cameras recording 24/7. There would be plenty of evidence if I was followed to my room. -

My semi-private pension fund will continue to pay out 66% of my pension to my wife after I die. She can even remarry, but only after I die, without losing her pension. She gets this CPI increased pension for the rest of her life. I bet my fund is not too happy about her being 41 years younger than me. She profits more from me being alive so I should be safe for now. 🙄

ChatGPT has the answers you are looking for.... Balancing a strong work ethic with maintaining a healthy relationship can be challenging, but it's definitely possible with some effort and understanding. Here are some steps you can take to improve your relationship while still being dedicated to your work: 1. **Communicate Openly:** Start by having an honest conversation with your partner about your passion for your work and why it's important to you. Explain your goals and the reasons behind your dedication. This can help them understand your perspective better. 2. **Set Boundaries:** Establish clear boundaries between work and personal time. Allocate specific times during the day or week dedicated solely to your partner and stick to them. This shows that you value and prioritize your relationship. 3. **Quality Over Quantity:** Focus on the quality of the time you spend together rather than the quantity. When you are with your partner, be fully present. Engage in meaningful conversations and activities that you both enjoy. 4. **Show Appreciation:** Regularly express your appreciation and love for your partner. Small gestures, such as leaving notes, planning surprises, or simply saying thank you, can go a long way in making your partner feel valued. 5. **Involve Them:** If possible, involve your partner in your work life in small ways. Share your achievements and challenges with them. This can help them feel included and understand the demands of your work better. 6. **Seek Balance:** Try to achieve a balance between your work and personal life. While your work is important, so is your relationship. Finding a middle ground where both can coexist will benefit you in the long run. 7. **Professional Help:** If balancing work and relationships continues to be challenging, consider seeking help from a therapist or counselor. They can provide strategies and insights tailored to your specific situation. 8. **Self-Reflection:** Reflect on why you prioritize work over relationships. Understanding your motivations can help you make conscious decisions about how to better balance your life. 9. **Plan Together:** Set goals together as a couple. This can include future plans, vacations, or simply weekend activities. Working towards common goals can strengthen your bond and give you both something to look forward to. 10. **Time Management:** Improve your time management skills to ensure you're not overworking. This can free up more time for your partner without compromising your work. Remember, relationships require effort from both sides. While your dedication to work is admirable, finding a balance is crucial for maintaining a healthy and fulfilling relationship.

I have been tempted to migrate to Linux a few times but each time I chickened out because I was afraid some of my favourite applications and games would not work. There are some programs I have been using for 20+ years that I don't want to lose. There are just enough features in Windows that keep me from jumping ship even though I get really annoyed with MS at times.
-
All these features are wonderful if you trust the corporation behind them. Unfortunately MS like all other large corporations cannot be trusted at all. I am still using Windows 7 with and have turned off all updates years ago. It works fine for now but I dread that one of these days my favourite applications will no longer work and I will be forced to make a change to Windows 10 which might give me a few more years. I can't believe that Windows 11 is already 2 years old. So far the only thing that stopped working are Firefox updates other than security updates. I can live with that. My desktop computer is more than 7 years old yet it's fast, has plenty of memory and storage, so I have no need to upgrade but one day it will fail on my and then when I get a new computer I imagine it will have the latest Windows on it. Not sure how I will handle that day.

No big loss then if they were all scammers. Hopefully the killers will also be found and taken off the streets. -
Happened to me at Don Muang coming back from a Phnom Penh holiday just before Covid early 2020. Got pulled over and sat next to an IO desk being asked questions for 30 minutes. I was worried I would not be allowed in even though I had a 6 month METV. The IO said I should get a more "appropriate" visa for my "longer" stays. Then Covid hit and I was out of Thailand for more than 2 years so I expect everything reset.

If the criminal is smart they will leave their phone at home when committing a crime. Your ex could claim you left the phone at home or loaned it to a friend to carry around while you stalk her. I am sure a lawyer could keep arguing for or against any location evidence a phone might hold until it is dismissed in court. Of course phone location data can be very useful to police showing them who might be of interest for further investigation.
