  1. The difference here is that these men are ugly unlike the "beautiful" local LBs. Men in dresses is obviously a job reserved for Thais Only.
  2. My AI disagrees with your definition.... Is the above statement true? False The statement is entirely inaccurate: Origin: The term "netizen" originated in the 1990s, derived from "Internet citizen," not from a Greek word meaning "chocolate starfish." Rocco Sifredi: There is no notable psychologist by this name associated with coining the term "netizen." Rocco Siffredi is actually an Italian adult film actor. IQ classification: The description of IQ ranges and associated terms (idiot, imbecile, feeble-minded) is based on outdated and discredited classification systems from the early 20th century. These terms are now considered derogatory and unacceptable. Psychological community: The term "netizen" has never been used in the psychological community to describe individuals with intellectual disabilities or specific IQ ranges. The actual definition of "netizen" refers to an individual actively participating in online communities, particularly on the internet. It emphasizes the person's role as a citizen of the digital world.
  3. The other neighbour is G&J Bar. Have a look at the first photo in this thread and the shops opposite as well as the front fittings of G&J. They all match up. This assumes that the photo showing the police is not just another unrelated photo like the Lust Bar in Soi 6.
  4. With a 39 year old? Nah... pass.
  5. The photo showing the police is located in Soi Buakhao, next to "The Krazy 80,s Bar". The orange-brown striped place opposite with the ice cream cone is Cafe Pitini. The bar tables out front match G&J Bar furniture. I don't know why they chose a Soi 6 "Lust" photo. I suppose they needed a bar with bar girls out front and that was the first one they found. So which photo is real? The one with sexy girl clickbait or the one showing a police raid?
  6. Soi 6 Actually is Soi Buakhao, close to "The Krazy 80,s Bar".
  7. I live on Ratchada Road in Bangkok and there is a muffler-less motorbike going past every few minutes all through the night, every night. I am sure these are not just Brits but mostly Thai. Police never seem to do anything about all these nuisances.
  8. Australian lotteries are tax free.
  9. The two girls on the right have wonky eyes.
  10. Wouldn't help them. Sex work is a Thai only job same as tuk-tuk drivers, basket weavers and amulet makers.
  11. I think this is the clue to your answer.
  12. I must be a genius. 🧑‍🎓
  13. This is a very valid point and another reason not to put all your eggs in one basket by selling all Western assets and moving permanently to Thailand. You will never be a full citizen of Thailand.
  14. I paid $24 Australian (about US$16) for a really delicious large pizza a couple of nights ago at a local Melbourne restaurant, not a pizza place but a proper restaurant. A glass of wine was AU$12 (US$8) which is more expensive than drinking at home but still quite reasonable. Being in Australia, no tax or tip added to the bill. I cannot imagine paying US$100 (AU$150) for what you show in that photo even if you add in a few drinks. I might have to avoid the Netherlands in future. Of course when in Bangkok my food bill is much, much lower except for pizza and possibly wine 🙄
  15. The idea is to keep your ASSETS in something that is stable and convert little bits at a time into cash for your day-to-day living expenses. Every birthday, anniversary and new year I give my wife a small gift of gold. Not handbags or other temporary trivia, but real gold from the local gold shop. I have taught her to appreciate the long term goal of having assets that will be there in an uncertain future. She now sees the value in her small hoard.
  16. How strange because every time we use a tuk-tuk to bring our shopping back from BigC the driver always offers to help unload. It helps him as well because he gets back on the road faster and we always give the driver a 20-30 baht tip.
  17. I agree. I don't use Grab or Bolt but my Thai wife does for some reason, since they are usually more expensive than a regular taxi for the trips we make. However, she uses a direct bank transfer to pay for the ride and no cash ever changes hands between us and the driver.
  18. You were "scammed" for about US$3. Is it really such an important event in your life that you need to write a long story on the net about it? Especially since you say this never happened before so it was a one-time event. 100 baht is about the same amount it costs for the "flag-fall" just to start the taxi meter on a new ride in Australia, and then another 36 baht for each kilometre travelled. Bangkok taxis are extremely cheap even if they over-charge.
  19. Do they really need two high ranking officers, Pol. Lt. Col. Kachakorn Saisasawat and Pol. Lt. Col. Nattawit Wasikanon, to handle a minor shoplifting case?
  20. Yet you have only 2 posts marked as ok... (20k) 🙄
  21. That could be a problem in my local Australian supermarket because receipts are optional and the cashier usually asks if I want one. There is a big black security guard before the exit but he never asks to see anything. He probably just watches to make sure people are using the cashiers or self-checkouts before leaving. He even smiles at customers as they leave. Nice guy.
  22. I think I should be OK because I'm a Sagittarius.
  23. Even Melbourne has much cheaper housing than Sydney. I own a 3 bedroom rental house about 45km south of the central city and about 4km from the beach. It is currently worth around AU$650k. If you are not tied to the central city there is no need to live close. My house location has good schools, shops, even a hospital nearby. The only thing missing is good public transport so a car is essential. I think they are crazy for making such a major move without doing a LOT of research beforehand. I suspect the husband will be looking forward to his visits to Bangla Road. 😆
  24. NordVPN does not show a server in Vietnam according to their map but they do include Vietnam in the list of countries and a connection can be made.
