  1. It is a fact that some people make poor choices in life, have difficulties and illnesses limiting their income, have other financial issues, but have the fortune or misfortune of wanting to marry a Thai person. Personally I think being married to a Thai gives somebody more commitment to the country than people who come on retirement visas. We have Thai families and networks, are more likely to be able to speak Thai and see a lot more of Thai culture than people. I doubt many retirees go to the Temples for tom boon. I think it is more p- poor that you come to a country, have no connection to it except spending money and criticize people who have made a commitment to leave their home country because of love, but sadly do not have the cash to leave 400, 000 in a bank account in Thailand for 3 months. I think it is also partly a policy of immigration to prevent 1000's of angry Thai wives bashing down their doors because their husband has been forced to leave the country because he does not have the cash. Personally my wife has more money than me and does not need me to provide over 30,000 a month to support her in a country where the average monthly wage is well under 20,000 and you can rent a room for a few 1000b a month. Ps. Thank you for all your advice in the past.
  2. Cheers. I bought some via the link????
  3. You can not just choose your immigration office at whim so some must use Jomtien. The OP has not said his age? May be under 50. Are you suggesting they get an education visa instead of one based on marriage? If the OP has a multi entry visa can exit and enter before the last date of entry can get another 90 days making it a 15 month visa.
  4. Thanks. A friend is into EM. I'll ask him.
  5. Thanks. Wife says keeps snakes away too????
  6. Hi. I am hoping to plant something to help cover the smell of a drain. I read lavender does not grow well here. Any suggestions appreciated.
  7. Thank you for the Brian Eno soundtrack. I guess sea travel and space travel is a good relationship.
  8. Hopefully they can keep it running. Once the transport networks from Cambodia, Koh Chang etc become more estabished- it is a bit hard to know exactly how to get to Sattahip without a car- it could open up the whole of the Eastern side by saving a long bus trip, then plane if you want to get to the south. Trat Airport is a joke with a monopoly owned by Bangkok Airways (as is Samui I think) and U-Tapao has little estabished public transport. They both may offer cheap flights but get you with private taxis to and from the airport.
  9. I sent a customer from Koh Kood to Samui with Seahorse yesterday. He took a car to Sattahip but could have caught a van. He sent me that the trip was great. Good food, bars, live music and karaoke. He booked a sleeping pod and said it was comfortable.
  10. Do you know if it is open again?
  11. It is in Pattaya. Is the Pattaya forum. It is not specifically a gay sauna. Strangely heterosexuals have been known to like saunas.

    Silom Sauna

Was hoping somebody knew if Silom Sauna in Soi 3 is open yet. They tried to open last yearbut were hit with a large fire safety bill.
  13. They have very few facilities for exercise. Most of the school ovals are just dirt. Parks are replaced by concrete. Is hard to walk the streets because of soi dogs and bad pavements. Is ok. Riding a motorbike is good exercise for Thais.
  14. Dragging up an old post. Does anybody know if the village head can adjudicate a business dispute? The problem has not arisen yet but it has been threatened. It is on a small island and there is no court - only the police force who sit around doing not much.
  15. Regular vans on Sukumvit rd . I have caught a songthaew on Suk Rd from U-Tapao. Changed songtaew along the way. Guess the one from UTP came from Rayong
  16. And you get to have a holiday every 90 days. My wife is usually busy sonI go by myself.
  17. Yes. It was from this site that I was warned to do it.
  18. It must be hard for HammerMan as he seems to be getting a lot of negative comments. I think when it gets going it will be really successful. Maybe people from Pattaya are not the ideal market but there are a lot of tourists on Koh Chang, Koh Mak and Koh Kood who would find it convenient to travel to Koh Samui without the long a trip by road to Bangkok then to Samui. I understand it must ne an expensive process getting it going but I hope the backers will realize it is a long term high demand operation with the growth in Koh Chang etc.
  19. A warning to all to check entry stamps. I have ME npn O and just entered from Cambodia and was given 45 days. Luckily I checked and went back and he changed it to 90 days.
  20. I am convinced that Thai Coca Cola, Schweppes etc have more sugar added than if you buy them in Western countries.
  21. No. As I wrote, the advertisement is in the jobs section and the details are there. I was trying to attract attention to it but is ok. The position has been filled.
