  1. No escape. Three angry guys screaming at him finally got him to pull over.
  2. Possibly, but normally I guess not A properly tuned fuel injected "petrol" engines emissions should not have much of an exhaust smell. CO is a by product of combustion. Not from incomplete combustion or gasoline fumes And I never said the victims smelled exhaust BTW I simply posted that if I smelled exhaust I would ask to get out. But that would probably more than an annoyance than indication real threat. CO is bad stuff and definitely odorless itself Surprised if some cars don't have CO detectors now like required in homes they are cheap
  3. I understand that but so then how would the airline staff at a foreign airport have any issue boarding the friend of ChaiyaTH if not flagged in the APIS system somehow?
  4. I don't like how they insist on surrounding me in packs of 3-6 when I don't need help If you ask about stock of some item it is always two weeks Never tomorrow or two days. Maybe they cute but probably are Thai fembots Mai mee Mai mee, like a broken record.
  5. And if you said anything probably get a punch in the face They have to make announcements on airplanes in the US because of this now Everyone is completely entitled and unapologetic Now, looking for the pic I have of the guy letting his fake "service dog" poop in the terminal
  6. Old piston engine planes smell like a mixture of avgas, oil, and mouldy naugahyde even when properly maintained It is possible they noticed no exhaust odor. Before they began to experience the insidious effects of CO poisoning "He was flying alone, cruising at 5,500 feet on autopilot, with the sun coming up on a clear, beautiful day. Per established routine, he switched the fuel selector to the auxiliary tank and set up the navigation system for nearby Topeka. About 90 minutes later, Dr. Frayser found himself in a hay field. 7. The article does not say they smelled anything, which is possible. So a critique of our response could be that this is just a Thai bashing post. If, we assume the passengers smelled exhaust and either lack basic CO toxicity knowledge or are stereotypically passive to a point where they will not protest being poisoned and suffocated.
  8. I recall now the threat discussed from the old Cessna 172 shroud heaters. Carbon monoxide poisoning symptoms headache. dizziness. feeling sick or being sick. feeling weak. confusion. chest and muscle pain. shortness of breath.
  9. Everybody knows that Lou. But when the source is from vehicle exhaust it smells does it not? I just read a report that one of our crews refused the provided hotel transport and took cabs because of exhaust odour They were entirely right to do so and entitled to reimbursement Turns out the provider had been written up before and the vehicle had not been repaired or taken out of service
  10. Nope. Smell exhaust in the cabin get out I got out once from a van when the driver kept microasleeping at the wheel too
  11. Heartening. I don't like the idea of being knocked back but it would not be the end of the world. Covid was a nightmare for them but heard similar two guys working out of HKG and SIN who keep their Thai families in Thailand. Don't even bother with "Thai wife" visa. The SIN guy is Asian American I think that might afford some privilege but I think the most important may be they clearly have a professional job spending more time out of Thailand than in, like yourself.
  12. No but I once had the worst sore throat from snogging some gal from a Disco.
  13. 1967. What was the drink driving level then two pints of Ale? This is no new thing in Chiang Mai they have the roaming mobile checkpoints for years before covid and from. Long time ago Japanese lady with Thai husband told me she paid 30k what I hear you can't buy your way out of prosecution anymore.
  14. I should stop reading social media and AN and just listen to my airline mates who come to Thailand maybe once or twice year they never heard of any hassles at all.
  15. I had a Non O-A and got almost two years out of it using re-entry until December 2023 January 2024 I used Visa exempt CNX airport entry. I spend more time outside than inside Thailand but seeing all my stamps The IO only asked me if I had a visa then how long you stay? I said two weeks. Ended up I stayed 21 days. Is it suspicious strange to start using visa exempts after having a so-called proper visa for years? I want to come to Thailand for two weeks in from May 1 visa exempt, then fly out again. I will apply to Los Angeles to get a new visa after that Will probably use CNX again but might need to do BKK. I will bring money, copy of Yellow book, "onward Ticket" and will request and keep my paper boarding pass
  16. Well this dog here can eat Chicken Adobo. Everything smells kind of funny. I think there is something about the oil they use I have some chance for MNL layovers comes up one thing that worries me is the food. So I go to Hong Kong or Osaka
  17. We had this one out before. It is a requirement with no punishment. If Thailand Imm wants to enforce the requirement that mobile boarding passes are unacceptable they need to instruct Korean, SQ and Scoot to stop issuing them to Thai bound pax and to make cabin announcements that the paper not be thrown in the trash, which is what I do on purpose to ridicule them. Never once been asked by immigration There are still airports that do not accept mobile boarding passes. It setting in the passenger management system the airlines could probably make easily
  18. Yes, the airlines are responsible to remove you from the country if denied entry. Now if you don't like long posts stop reading HERE. Please, read your contract of carriage carefully. The passenger is required to provide all required entry documentation visas and vaccinations and payment for return flight if denied entry. This is the point where the dullards here will mark confused. If you are denied entry and are actually flat brokewith no credit card , or simply cross your ams and refuse to pay the airline staff cannot literally beat payment out of you. Immigration insists the denial passenger must go back. If the airline does not take you back they will be levied some huge fines in addition to the cost even if they have to bump another passenger on a return flight that could be 100 percent full. Later they could try to get back the money you refused to pay or take other legal action One or two times over the years JL or ANA asked me to sign a paper in Tokyo or KIX that I understand this. It is in your contract of carriage you are respsonsible for paying for return flight if denied entry so these forms should not be necessary. In my case I have been using airline staff discount standby tickets almost exclusively over the years. Highest standard of behaviour is expected. Definitely one would get banned or sacked if you argue with them.
  19. Correct. There is no need for human interaction when flying from SIN to Thailand on Scoot or SQ over the past few years. As things seem to be getting worse every day maybe that will change. You do not even need paper boarding passes which supposedly are "required" at the inbound immigration counter in Thailand. Nonsense My boarding pass is on my mobile. If a paper boarding pass is ever foisted on me by an agent I throw it away.
  20. Been flying to Thailand for 26 years never ever once asked by Thai immigration for onward ticket. In practice ostly an airline check-in thing. I only fly to Thailand from Asian airports where it appears to be less enforced I do not comment on Munich, "Englund", or Cindy-Lou at Delta airlines in Hot Springs Arkansas airport.
  21. If you have any issue the Kiosk will instruct you to see an agent. One time I got gigged by the Scoot machine. Turns out I had one letter on my name wrong.
  22. I have flown from Singapore to Chiang Mai and BKK many times, One way tickets. Never asked a thing by airline staff. Either mobile self check in, at the automated kiosk, or in person. One time I was summoned to see a ticket agent by the Scoot Kiosk One letter on my name was incorrect. No "onward ticket" rubbish
  23. Antisemitism much? Please state what are you actually trying to say.
  24. How does it protect Thais? In a sought after Tourist area with high foreign interests and the quota is full I see it as an economic distortion that lowers the value of the Thai owned units.
  25. Do you know how many scurrilous villains are entering this country without visas or criminals checks ? If you are not doing anything illegal what could be wrong with a purvey of your messages, contacts and photos?
