  1. Why illegal? Thailand has not decided how to tax and monopolize it yet.
  2. There is no "herd immunity" possible with covid-19. Is there herd immunity from the flu or colds? Probably need a new vaccine every 6 to 9 months
  3. Unjust discrimination not mentioned on basis of citizenship or Nationality. Right there in the Constitution. A futile lawsuit. Farnag pay more. Live with or or leave.
  4. Not put 10,000,000 Baht cash in the Box have deposited on account! Then you have to wait for somebody to die, the Manager controls the waiting list. Good luck Mr. Farung.
  5. There is nothing such as a semi-commercial flight. It is something that Thailand made up nobody in the airline industry ever heard of it. At this point any scheduled flight that operates will be approved for COE by your Thai Embassy.
  6. I brought bicycles to Thailand as hold baggage no hassle I used to get GIANT at factory prices in TPE In fact in near 24 years I have had 1 hassle with customs where I had a bluetooth speaker totally within personal allowance in a box when they had some kind of "Welcome to Customs Thailand" crackdown at BKK and there were lines of mostly Indian people to be fleeced with the customs dept. assisted by English speaking interns/ students. These trader guys had bales of clothes or something. I pay some 800 or 1000 baht honestly I forgot. A sum pulled out of thin air I let them take my goods I was welcome to "go back to your country" You are always taking a risk with goons like they would happily just let you rot in jail while somebody higher up takes a few weeks to affirm their decisions. You cant argue Thai law with them its pointless.
  7. The requirement of a dual USA/Thai (or other) citizen is they must enter the US as a US citizen. For example using US passport or other document to enter the United States such as the Passport Card allowed for cruise ships and land borders. The State Dept. cannot issue a entry visa to a US citizen. Of course a Thai person can enter Thailand on their Thai passport they are Thai! They can even enter on an expired one. That is what my dual US/Thai citizen friends do. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/travel-legal-considerations/Advice-about-Possible-Loss-of-US-Nationality-Dual-Nationality/Dual-Nationality.html "U.S. law does not mention dual nationality or require a person to choose one nationality or another. A U.S. citizen may naturalize in a foreign state without any risk to his or her U.S. citizenship". "U.S. nationals, including dual nationals, must use a U.S. passport to enter and leave the United States. Dual nationals may also be required by the foreign country to use its passport to enter and leave that country. Use of the foreign passport to travel to or from a country other than the United States is not inconsistent with U.S. law. "
  8. There needs to be some kind of zoning just let us own houses in certain Moo-bahns and condos Just exclude commercial property, agricultural land, certain downtowns , near cultural sites, etc. Thailand is a huge country really The 49 percent condo ownership an economic distortion that lowers the value of Thai owned units. Think as a Thai owner. Do you just want to buy cheap or be smart and realize you'll hold an asset that has to be flogged off at a discount in cases where the foreign quota is full? Backwards. But even Farangs getting control of a condo board is unthinkable.???? Nothing will ever change in Thailand. Forever to cling fast to xenophobics, protectionism, high tariffs/luxury taxes, and failed economic policies from the 1970s. Hidebound, moribund, forever the "sick man of Asia".
  9. Two shot of Pfizer completed waiting for 3rd booster authorization LH Business class lounge. Papieren please vaccination complete or current test required for entry. "New Normal"
  10. As long as you are not dead, broke from long hospital stay, or grievously affected by covid-19 as a permanent disability.
  11. Vaccine and test status can easily be displayed on your iPhone via an app. Or a printed QR code from same. This is the only way forward.
  12. Thailand will continue to be a top destination for retirees, unless the government once and fully muffs it up by instituting unreasonable financial or impossible insurance requirements. Every year we read another proposal to "attract wealthy foreigners", but it never seems to get easier does it? The pandemic completely screwed up my mode of living, so we will see if and ever the redeculous hindrances to international travel abate? I was told years ago to never buy a condo in Thailand on many outlandish speculations. Nobody said anything about a virus. Being locked out of the country 10 months was the final wake-up call for me, an extremely costly and disruptive one. With no legitimate path to permanent residence for me and, potential health care/ insurance issues Just made it more clear to me almost every expat needs a plan B. So now my plan B is my plan A. Whats in YOUR bug-out bag?
  13. There is nothing in the OP's rental contract that says he can deduct monies from monthly rent payments in protest of a condo board ratified policy he disagrees with. I'd say move house if I were the landlord I would not extend a rental contract with such anyway. My condo here has a 300 baht replacement policy. It has the condo name and room numbers imprinted on it if it was dropped on a street somebody could enter the building and find you. This subject has come up at the owners meeting as a security issue the board position is 300 baht is a reminder to be careful with it and a motion was tabled. I had an experience of losing a key card from a hotel they wanted 200 baht fine. I have a key card lock, for my own door on a condo overseas. The shop that sells the lock about 425 for a replacement. I found I can use a key card a Hilton or Sheraton hotel. Probably close to 10 baht or less cost for Sheraton
  14. Even if a severely ill patient cannot sit upright for takeoff and landing It is possible on a scheduled airline if the carrier offers stretcher service on a particular route , and the attending Physician and the airlines aeromedical director sign off on it. Done it many times. The operation had stretcher kit that fit over three rows of economy blocking 6 seats. Three adjacent for Nurses or medical attendant. All must blocked and paid for plus I assume extra charges. MEDIF Part one (Eng).pdf
  15. The powers don't want that kind of trade anymore. A travel group agent will handle the paperwork. It will be hard to wean them off the grift. SHA+ means nothing about a virus. Prepaid hotels and tests, mandatory insurance and tracking. The days of going where you want, patronizing local businesses, especially "farang owned" are probably not in the overall plan. Preferred vendors, attractions, restaurants and shopping. Just follow the Flag!
  16. For those of us who did not buy BTC at $1.15 please suggest an alt coin, the case for it and why?
