  1. And extreme halitosis
  2. I can explain it for you I cant understand it for you Why dont you just mark ”confused” and move on
  3. No idea. The sounds of Asian pop music seems to change little over past 35 years other than addition of hip hop influences. A form of entertainment consisting entirely of celebrity models dancing. Whatever singing is accomplished in a studio, not on stage. That is where the musicians are, in a studio. They could be 50 year old fat men nobody would be interested in watching.
  4. The Thai Ambassador to Israel informed the ministry that a number of Thai women, approximately 400-500, are married to Israeli men and have children who hold both Thai and Israeli nationalitie Someday then a guy will marry a half Thai/Israeli woman. He will be kvetched to death in three years.
  5. Interesting What countries? ”Paying cash” for home is an Americanism simply meaning not taking out a home loan or mortgage Escrow agents accept personal cheque, cashiers cheques, mostly electronic transfers or wires There is nothing illegal in US about paying with paper bills but I doubt reputable escrow agents would accept a huge bag of money as there is handling and counting risk. IRS/FinCEN reporting requirements still apply. People actually do for sale by owner home sales to avoid the bloodsuckers. Nothing illegal about it https://www.rocketmortgage.com/learn/buying-a-house-with-cash
  6. Exactly why I would never join a pro-Palestine demonstration in the US These protets are infested with anti-semites and their messaging Here is one dumb girl I saw coming back from her demonstration the other day part of her sign reads ”from the river to the sea” which is nothing more than a dog-whistle call for the complete destruction of Israel. There is no room for these fools in a nuanced discussion of the situation. Criticism of Israels govt and military strategies must be clearly separated from irrational hatred/animosity towards the Jewish people or their religion
  7. Do you know Hamas, which was marketing itself a bit differently in 2006, enjoyed a narrow like 44 percent win? Then they started terrorizing any opposition and never had another poll. Any Gazans who openly oppose the militants elements are killed. As for your so-called ”vast majority” what of the 47 percent of the population, the children ? They certainly did not vote in 2006 are they also ”not innocent”? Your point of view resembles a FOX news talking point, ie, a trope absent he slightest intellectual rigour. Back to the vast majority of the population I know after 75 years of occupation and hateful Arab propaganda I know most of them are vile anti-semites, like many of the members here on AN but that does not mean they deserve to be slaughtered. By a professional military backed 100 percent by the most powerful country in the world while claiming nonsensically to make every effort to avoid civilan casualties. 2006 Palestinian legislative election https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Palestinian_legislative_election
  8. If anyone was ever in dire need of a nose job...
  9. Hmm? Often read many immigrants/refugees in my country are born on January 01 because of document issues.
  10. What countries should America and England divide up to give the Kurds?
  11. I knew somebody would point out my self-absorbtion and parochialism. Is your home country not party to a tax equilization treaty with Kingdom of Thailand?
  12. I would accept your local consulate info as a good guideline. As long as one spends much more time outside of Thailand than in Thailand it should be not a problem to enter visa exempt. But as you should know people who followed the visa exempt rules and did NOTHING wtong have been denied entry, even some with a valid tourist visa. Since ”staying too much in Thailand” is not a valid reason to refuse and no way to prove working illegally these rougue IOs just stamp the passport insufficient funds to support in Kingdom and knock themback. It does not matter how much money you once they decide to deny you, it is ignored. Many reports of this. The consulates are under Ministry of Foreign Affairs and I guess Immigration cops Ministry of Justice. As we know, the organs of the Thai govt often work at cross purposes. One hand trying to promote tourism, the other denying entry to USD millionaires for ”coming too many times”.
  13. This link is interesting in reference to official/service passports. In my country these powerful documents are a reddish coloring and held (separate of personal passports) by State Department staff, Military Officers, etc., for travel on official government business.
  14. I have found wrong and contradictory information regarding entering Thailand on these websites. -US Department of State -Royal Thai Consulate - Los Angeles You can enter Thailand by air as many times as you like visa exempt or with a tourist visa, until an IO at the airport says you can’t. I wish they would again publish/set a clear limit instead of arbitrary and capricious decisions made by power trippers with a badge (with a component of racism).
  15. That would be great if they could set a clear limit. Unfortunately this sounds like the famous many years incorrect andoutdated info from a govt website.
  16. This interpretation change in the tax law will be very unfair to Thai billionaires who hold significant overseas assets and foreign income streams.
  17. In my case it does not matter For a citizen or “US person” you either have to file a tax return or not addressing all global income. Most people who have an income must file. Of course there are all kinds of exclusions and deductions but there is no concept of “tax residency” in the US context
  18. I’m a Yank too. Just facing facts
  19. You can. I got a tax ID years ago. I used to keep a large chunk here when you could get a nifty interest rate in Fixed accounts. The interest tax pulled by Bangkok Bangkok refundable I guess since total income was below the threshold each year. Painless process .
  20. I do it every year at Tax Revenue district 1 Chiang Mai. It takes 5 minutes, no English is spoken. But the only income I have in Thailand is the pittance of bank interest I earn and is partially confiscated at the source. I can scrape that back hardly worth the effort imaging thousands of farnags descending on their office with complex oveseas tax issues? A train wreck in the making but here the engineer intends to wreck the train.
  21. I tend to agree with what you suggest and believe this is an intentional further ramming of the the wedge that began well well prior to covid intended to gradually drive certain foreign demographic cohorts out of Thailand. Time will tell but I think next year they will be going beyond the spirit of tax equilization treaties and as such like as you posted「the revenue office just can file and claim your world income falls in Thailand. Then it is up to you to proof otherwise」. My income is mainly wages from a US employer automatically taxed at the source in fact each year I usually get a large refund after I file my US tax return because they take to much do to standard deduction。This year I got almost $8000 dollars back, an interest free loan to Uncle sam. Next year will be worse do to large bonus. No objection to fullfilling my income taxation obligations but I will not be double-taxed or rorted by this mob. After the experience of being locked out of Thailand for months during covid and what that necessitated for me personally plan B has become plan A, and is already activated. No need to panic just yet but I have noproblem selling my condo and just visiting a few times a year, or just walking away. I never invested more than I could afford to lose.
  22. Any rational person who purchases an Android immediately changes the standard notification tone to something, anything less annoying. I have noticed more disgusting in an airport business class lounge but nothing more irritating than a a gormless clod sat up in the lounge texting furiously texting with above on full volume as if totally normal /acceptablle behaviour. I guess he has a friend somewhere at least. With the bluetooth speakers many people in US now walk down the street/bicycle playing music, usually loud and of the Hip Hop genre. Nothing against Hip Hop but even noticed airlines now are making announcements to use headphones onboard as Americans obviously have no common sense anymore, if they ever did. T he debasement of societal norms only seems to get worse.
  23. Then to nothing to concern myself with as I do not spend 180 days/year in any country. regards, Captain Monday Constant international travel
