  1. Various organs of the Thai govt working at cross purposes, nothing new. TAT beckons RICH RICH tourists then Immigration denies them entry for ”coming too many times” Get ready for a backpedal on this trainwreck
  2. Getting married for a visa sounds expensive
  3. A bit? Previously we have suggested simply enrolling with Coutts Private Bankers to avoid any more problems but it appears the minimum account balance requirement is now too high for readers here
  4. Attractive handsome couples seem to have cute kids. Plus if they are both highly intelligent. It is genetics. One of my friends Thai.Belgie daughter is a pro model in the fashion mags . Bigotry hatred and hostile attitudes are learned. Usually it starts in the home unfortunately, one cannot choose ones parents.
  5. The response to those of poor reading comprehension skills and intellect who are Frequently “confused”.
  6. “Never park next to a <deleted>ebox, park next to a nice car”
  7. The driver has defamed the reputation of the Nation and thus damaged tourism by his actions.
  8. Boarding pass? It’s in me iFin ???? on an app care to see? Few ever asked. On the other hand Recently flying more often to CNX nonstop on intl flights they know what plane you came from as there aren’t a dozen arriving near same time frame.
  9. Block and permanently ignore You did nothing wrong, and the threats she sent were
  10. Your experience is similar to mine asked by airline once or twice in 20 plus years, In Tokyo once asked to sign a paper affirming financial responsibility for flight cost if denied entry. Which is always the passengers responsibility according to the contract of carriage. ???? Probably get different treatment being airline staff. It also appears airline check in in “Englund” and the Middle East are more strict about onward ticket as are Laos and Cambo. I fly to Thailand from East Asia and Singapore exclusively.
  11. That is a savings or Checking (current account rate). Certificates of Deposit are earning a nifty return now and from what I read inflation/rates are only trending up. Schwab page today for CDs, FDIC insured so near zero risk as far as I understand.
  12. Not exactly. Huge oversimplification but let's say you earn 100K pension in the UK, and it is taxed 30 percent by HMRC. Then If you land all these funds in Thailand and (just say the tax rate for the same income is 35 percent as tax resident here) you owe Thailand 5000 pounds to make up the difference. That is not double taxation. If the tax rate is less you should not owe anything.
  13. Good job Richard. Most are well tired of the entitled Chads and Karens attitudes and behaviors on aircraft. Their unreasonable demands and outbursts at the expense of others are out of line and should be quashed.
  14. Raised, what does that mean? Did you expect an widebody exit row seat or bulkhead seat? That is fine but If the seat is you need is a a premium paid seat it does not mean you get it free just because you have a medical restriction. In fact, if BR was not able to accommodate you in accordance with the Fit to Fly letter from your Doctor the Captain should have denied you boarding in the interest of safety.
  15. Agree. Nobody can live like this forever. I could have gained permanent residency in a third country years ago, maybe citizenship but I played it wrong. SAD????
  16. Never wished to have a "normal" life. Fist picked this up in Dads study in the late 1970s
  17. I basically get nothing for now the way I see it anyway.
  18. Long record of offenses that would not stand up to international scrutiny, eh ?
  19. 100,000 baht? Nice portion of Gaeng Paneang Gai and I will have a massive blowout within few hours, guaranteed, I think it is the fresh coconut cream
  20. The better idea is to get rid of all visas and borders. Let people live where they want as long as they don’t become a public burden and follow the rules. Stop punishing the innocent.
  21. No income tax? What a wonderful realm to be subject to! ???????? In the US interest income is the taxed same as wages and salaries generally end of year when one files a the tax return. 600 GBP pays for plenty of Wise transfers ????‍♂️
  22. Is it worth the hassle and uncertainty of maintaining the monthly transfers? How much income tax would you pay HMRC for the interest earned in year on 800k baht Pounds sterling equivalent?
  23. I’m dreaming. There is no way that is possible while working for a US entity, Similarly if I since I have to pay taxes to Uncle Sam no matter what under my current circumstances be nice if I could select where the money goes? Zero for waepons and wars, 100 percent public housing, medical care, income support, and DEI programs.
  24. My working experience is With a tax equalization treaty in effect, There is nothing such as double taxation. If Thailand figures out a way otherwise, I am done. Plan B put in effect during covid. I am happy to pay any differences owed but I will not be double taxed. Anyway In two years The Monday family will be completely legitimate. Ensconced in third country, with permanent residence.
  25. I do not care who is in the govt at this Point I would prefer Thailand get 100 percent of my income taxes instead of the US. The failed state that confiscates a huge chunk of my wages automatically at the source, wasting it on who knows what.
