Santander is closing my UK current account
Captain Monday replied to somo's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
A bit? Previously we have suggested simply enrolling with Coutts Private Bankers to avoid any more problems but it appears the minimum account balance requirement is now too high for readers here -
How does half European half Thai child usually look like
Captain Monday replied to NorwayThai's topic in Family and Children
Attractive handsome couples seem to have cute kids. Plus if they are both highly intelligent. It is genetics. One of my friends Thai.Belgie daughter is a pro model in the fashion mags . Bigotry hatred and hostile attitudes are learned. Usually it starts in the home unfortunately, one cannot choose ones parents. -

What do I need on arrival at Suv?
Captain Monday replied to cubism001's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your experience is similar to mine asked by airline once or twice in 20 plus years, In Tokyo once asked to sign a paper affirming financial responsibility for flight cost if denied entry. Which is always the passengers responsibility according to the contract of carriage. ???? Probably get different treatment being airline staff. It also appears airline check in in “Englund” and the Middle East are more strict about onward ticket as are Laos and Cambo. I fly to Thailand from East Asia and Singapore exclusively. -
What is the real deal with proposed foreign income tax changes?
Captain Monday replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not exactly. Huge oversimplification but let's say you earn 100K pension in the UK, and it is taxed 30 percent by HMRC. Then If you land all these funds in Thailand and (just say the tax rate for the same income is 35 percent as tax resident here) you owe Thailand 5000 pounds to make up the difference. That is not double taxation. If the tax rate is less you should not owe anything. -
Good job Richard. Most are well tired of the entitled Chads and Karens attitudes and behaviors on aircraft. Their unreasonable demands and outbursts at the expense of others are out of line and should be quashed.

Raised, what does that mean? Did you expect an widebody exit row seat or bulkhead seat? That is fine but If the seat is you need is a a premium paid seat it does not mean you get it free just because you have a medical restriction. In fact, if BR was not able to accommodate you in accordance with the Fit to Fly letter from your Doctor the Captain should have denied you boarding in the interest of safety.

Is it worth the hassle and uncertainty of maintaining the monthly transfers? How much income tax would you pay HMRC for the interest earned in year on 800k baht Pounds sterling equivalent?

I’m dreaming. There is no way that is possible while working for a US entity, Similarly if I since I have to pay taxes to Uncle Sam no matter what under my current circumstances be nice if I could select where the money goes? Zero for waepons and wars, 100 percent public housing, medical care, income support, and DEI programs.

My working experience is With a tax equalization treaty in effect, There is nothing such as double taxation. If Thailand figures out a way otherwise, I am done. Plan B put in effect during covid. I am happy to pay any differences owed but I will not be double taxed. Anyway In two years The Monday family will be completely legitimate. Ensconced in third country, with permanent residence.

I do not care who is in the govt at this Point I would prefer Thailand get 100 percent of my income taxes instead of the US. The failed state that confiscates a huge chunk of my wages automatically at the source, wasting it on who knows what.
