Eliminate visa free travel for EU, USA, and others, a very simple and fair solution. Mandatory home country criminal checks are also desperately needed.

“Can someone explain this. If she’s a tenant and is allocated one parking spot then what does it matter if she leaves it there for however long. “ Those rules ensure the spots are there for reasonable use of all residents NOT near permanent storage of vehicles. (Always the case when you do not have deeded or allocated parking) similarly I used to have parking at an airport base where the maximum was 8 days. It was a place for work parking, not to go poncimg off on vacation leaving working crew unable to park. The longest trips were 6 days according to the contract. Sure some guys had friends move their car then the jobsworths with the colored chalk sticks went into HAWAII 50 investigation mode. Clear rules and penalties Consistent enforcement Without these necessary procedures in place SOME resident always seems to take advantage of these un-allocated condo parking situations.

In Chiang Mai the men at many of these storefronts don’t even bother to tout outside anymore. My last experience they quoted some ridiculous price, as if to drive the custom away, then back to their mobiles. Perhaps the dozens of idle tailor shops evidence some kind of scam ????♂️

Thai Workers Are A Joke
Captain Monday replied to Brewster67's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
I must have the two-burner version Similar install direct into some quartzstone or something, a kind of fake engineered black granite. Very strong and easy to clean -
So, I bought on onward ticket from *one of these sites* this month Conclusion , it is not as fake as I thought they were. I requested a ticket back to Singapore. The site provided me with a ticket from BKK-SIN on SQ for the date I requested. One letter in my last name was wrong. I did not have to *Phone the friend* at SQ to check it I could look it up myself on the SQ site. It indicated it is a reservation that has not been paid for yet. The so-called listing without a booking I entered Thailand Sept 10 on a one-way ticket Nobody from the airline looked at my passport I checked in on line Used mobile boarding pass, no checked baggage Passport was never checked for visa, never asked for onward ticket. Only at the final moment of boarding to check the facial photograph/data page. IO stamped me in as normal, no questions, no smile either. I choose a senior bloke if possible.

What do I need on arrival at Suv?

I thought you had me on “permanent ignore”. Why comment? Did you read the title of this thread even? -

Never been asked for onward ticket by airport immigration even once More than 25 years coming to Thailand. -
Not at all. You don't have to own a car or put it somewhere else. When I had a car in my country we had a much better procedure These squatters heaps are removed by tow-truck/wreckers, by a private company under contract. Then only released when service and storage charges are paid, in full. If parked in a reserved or deeded spot on condo property can be removed, immediately.

They could start like California did. With the quack doctor giving medical cards to all comers "I feel stress, can't sleep, no appetite" Here you go. Try some OG diesel Gorilla glue you will never get off your couch again and Domino's delivers to 2AM. -

Thai people don't seem to crave it much. Chiang Mai is chock full of outlets, with no apparent customers. I only smelled it while walking thru the foreign guesthouse ghetto and a certain dance club zone. -
Perhaps a result of the latest hate-brained scheme announced? ( I mean hare -brained )

Second hand car import / lift of ban
Captain Monday replied to oustaristocrats's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Maybe Thailand should let Toyota and Honda land used cars to ports here duty free so they can undercut the Thai marketplace? Or even better maybe the Thai government should buy everyone one of these great used cars? Governments all over the world highly regulate auto industries to prop up domestic players. Tariffs and non-tariff barriers. Of course there are safety and environmental rules. It does create economic distortions, but employs a lot of people too. Australia has 25 million people still, I think the firms there gave up on auto manufacture completely. -
A long time ago I slipped getting into a jacuzzi type pool at the Ritz -Carlton. The management took it very seriously. Later they installed a handrail, where before there was none. I could say it was bad lighting. What really was the problem? No hand rail and the first step underwater in darkness about twice as deep as normal so slashed/banged my shin on the edge. It hurt pretty bad. They closed it for the night maybe to change out the bloody water. I ended up in Casualty. No big deal. Two suits showed up in the morning offering assistance, and a spa day. I told them I was fine and would be hitting the ski slopes as planned. I did not mind them taking note of that. I suggested perhaps they could reimburse the co-payment from the emergency room which was 100 dollars out of pocket, total bill over 1000. For three or four stitches. Yes, America. Later they sicced a well known claims management outfit on me by phone and mail. These corporate goons were trying to assess my intentions but I took no further action. I considered it an accident. Now feel maybe stupid because I did not milk them for an easy 50,000 USD or so. If it was an elderly or frail person? Getting electrocuted to death in a 5 star resort pool / having a leg crushed on an escalator at an airport is totally avoidable with basic maintenance thus near unheard of . Of course such and accident would command a huge payout from large hotel chains and public facilities. We all pay for frivolous lawsuits in the end due to increased costs.

Chinese Embassy and work visas
Captain Monday replied to Deserted's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
As a US citizen I have received China crew visas in Chiang Mai several times Every time the reception staff starts with ”go back to your country/BKK” then I remind them I got it there last time. Pure laziness. The consul staff are wonderful. Just the young Thai ladies at the door appear trained to say cannot
