  1. That is risky. I work with near 90 percent GOP right-wingers some would want to debate. They come pre-loaded with FOX news taking points, endless whataboutisms and discredited tropes and can be relentless. We are actually trained to not talk politics or religion. I don't want to hear about how vile and criminally guilty Trump is for 6 hours with somebody I agree with either. Very boring and accomplishes nothing! This is one of those clods who just talks anyone's ear off. Accosting girls 40 years his junior in the soi who are lucky they don't understand a word of the completely irrelevant stream of consciousness near the Aspberger's spectrum level. I just am always "busy, going somewhere, have plans already" Bye...
  2. A mixed bag. You also have people who will kill you for looking at them wrong, at least becoming aggressive to passersby at any perceived slight to them or their claimed personal space In Thailand how should I avoid a completely gormless and boring fellow American I once made the mistake of talking to without being overtly rude?
  3. My first question would be has he been convicted of fraud in America and why was he let in Thailand? Maybe not, if the Island tax haven allowed him to buy a passport. Some of America's most famous notorious crims have never been arrested nor spent a day behind bars, never will. Criminal checks before any kind of Thai visa is issued desperately needed, but it is not going to be a perfect filter to keep these scammers at bay.
  4. The virus is in the aerosolised particles of spit that are partially blocked by masking. "The virus is smaller than the mask holes" is just a stupid internet trope.
  5. Neil Young has resided in the US since the 60s. His US citizenship application was delayed due to cannabis use issues. Something that now seems quite ridiculous now does it not? https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/celebrities/2020/01/23/neil-young-officially-u-s-citizen-after-use-marijuana-delay/4559169002/
  6. No one likes a grass Claire.
  7. Health care Thailand: I thought I had a piece of glass in my foot so I shuffle to the most famous intl hospital in Bangkok with no apointment saw an actual Doctor quickly and the total charge was 650 baht. US: Insurance company initial response is to partially deny my claim. If it happened in the US I would pay minimum $75 or $100 co-poy and insurance would be billed a huge amount. One time I needed three stitches it was over $1000 almost twenty years ago
  8. I succeeded in this it late November 2022 by entering Thiland at BKK airport very close to the O-A eVisa enter by date. Having purchased another 1 year policy to show the IO. The 2022 and 2023 policies overlap by 16 hours so there was no break in "coverage" IO examined both policy papers then stamped me for 1 year. Subsequently I applied for a multi reentry permit.
  9. German man suspected of having 90 Covid jabs to sell vaccination cards https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/apr/03/german-man-suspected-of-taking-90-covid-jabs-to-sell-vaccination-cards
  10. Was watching tv news in in AUS section about Melbourne rents I thought that is not so high? Then I realized the rents were quoted per fortnight not monthly. Anywhere decent in US rental costs are completely out of control.
  11. Has a Thai govt app ever actually worked?
  12. Great idea but not enough. It should be more like 300 baht, per day. To include comprehensive accident insurance, fund infrastructure tourism improvements and environmental damage mitigation. They could have discounts like 7500 baht for a month to encourage longer stays. Should not be applied to those who hold a non-immigrant visa????.
  13. Simply enroll with Coutts private bankers You won't have any more problems
  14. Elite Easy Access 5 year program went up to 600k. They don't accept overstayers and chances with a history of volunteer visa sound slim.
  15. Instead of creating hindrances and insurance hoops Thailand should offer to pay for covid treatment for the few unfortunates who would need more than a few days rest and some cough drops. The coming positive economic impact from the millions of Chinese will be much much greater Damage already done thru cancellations. Then people turned away from airline check-in counters, in this confusion. A huge disappointment costly to travelers and Thailand intl reputation. Who is driving this clown car?
  16. Wish you luck. One day Tarentino was a doofus in a video shop. I had some good ideas I thought and some friends were writing screenplays in University nobody could break thru to the agents So many movies today are sequels and remakes of foreign films, fully credited but 99 percent of viewers don't even know.
  17. You can save the cost of another 5 years of Thailand Elite membership and get an O-A visa. Instead, the pleasure of paying for useless redundant Thai health Insurance. In 5 years. if visiting the US you can squeeze out some fast food discounts. I have never been to an Arby's. Chick-Fil-A: 10% off or free small drink or coffee (55+) Arby's: 10% off (55+)
  18. For antivaxxers who never got the shot, som nam naa.
  19. I work here two weeks.
  20. Is hooking up with caddies at "The 19th hole" a real possibility or just another myth?
  21. I never bought travel insurance as I thought it was redundant except when Thailand entry policies basically made it required for me "during covid" Every one of my expat friend has been laid up at some time and some Thais to with motorbike accident injuries it seems is just a matter of time here. Last time I paid a hospital visit my friend looked like she had just gone a few rounds with a Muay Thai champ, Godspeed Welshman
  22. Pretty sure a POC does not come from America bearing the cloak of privilege and entitlement allowing them to abuse bank equipment in broad daylight like this vile Choad.
  23. If you really have an original script change it to be about rich people in Brentwood then shop it to Hollywood. Much bigger upside potential just be sure they don't turn you down then plagiarize the whole idea.
  24. I did not inspect it but there is no way to know without a complete test of the equipment if this brute caused any damage. He claimed it was out of order though.
