I hope you are wrong, but they are prime candidates for sure, their respiratory systems are not going to be in great shape with all the pollution & smoking, poor diets and poor living conditions. ????

I disagree with "their own ignorance" they are not very well informed nor have they ever been, but the end result will be the same.

I think he is talking about the ignorance of the people running the country. They kept letting the Chinese come here for the sake of money absolutely no concern for the lives of Thai people and the rest of us that live here. Now the stupid Deputy Prime Minister keeps running his mouth about this being the fault of caucasians as he tries to pass blame for his own irresponsible actions. I have many Thai friends and they are disgusted by the things that he says. Thai people are not as stupid as the government thinks they are. The Deputy Prime Minister has no business being the position he is in and needs to be removed from office as he is a disgrace to Thailand.

Duterte is an ordinary guy who lives like an ordinary guy. He cares deeply about the welfare of his country. He has been cosying up to the Chinese government after giving the US the big finger, and China will offer a lot of assistance if necessary. They already told him last week.... just ask if you need help.

"The Chinese people stand ready to help their Philippine brothers and sisters to go through this difficult time," Huang (vice president of China) said in a statement.

The American tax payers have been giving everyone one the "big finger"! We are never so happy to stop funneling our tax dollars into these toilets!!!

All a rider really has to do is avoid touching their nose, mouth, eyes from the time they leave home, hopefully after having sanitized their hands, until they reach the next point where they can again sanitize their hands.  And these days, pretty much every BTS station has an alcohol hand gel/spray dispenser that everyone can use when they enter or exit the system. So it's really pretty easy to manage, especially if you're wearing a mask, hopefully N95, or drugstore variety if nothing else is available.

Did you ever notice how many Thai people have their finger up their nose? They dig in there like there's gold to be found!!!

These people are a shambles. This is just another hare-brained scheme someone thought up while sitting on the po during their morning constitutional. Give it 2 or 3 days and it will disappear back where it came from.

3 out of 10 for bright idea, 1 out of 10 for practicality and usefulness, just another half-assed scheme thought up by a 3rd-world mentality trying hard to make a name for himself.

3rd world? I didn't think Thailand ranked that high on intelligence yet...

Did my buying started three weeks ago. 180 liters of water.

Food for six weeks. In case we are told the remain home. Medicine. Kleenex. You name it. No need to go out unnecessarily now.

The USA is crashing now with NYC becoming like Wuhin soon. Reports school's will not open again this year. Hellish conditions at the airport with people in huge groups together for hours returning from everywhere in the world. No masks. Exactly what you don't want to do.

Myths so far are virus only affects the old and is like the common flu.

In fact people of any age are infected without symptoms and are transmitting the virus to others. Life long lung and liver damage is possible.

Social distancing is now the only way to stop the virus. Stay home. Stay away from tourists who should not be traveling now.

  7. If you have a smartphone with a Thailand phone number you can simply download an app called "Text Now" from the Google Play store which will give you a US phone number that can be used to make and receive phone calls for free in the United States and also send and receive text messages for free. You have to use the app once every 30 days to maintain your free phone number so that you do not lose it. I think they have I pay version on the app as well but I use the free version for almost 2 years with no problem.

  8. I think all of this depends on the grade level of the students. I would prefer to teach on the University level a specialized course in information technology along with conversational English during those course sessions. I have 40 years of experience in information technology specializing as a consultant and absolutely do not need a bachelor's degree in education to teach what I know. I am retired now and don't need the money, but I do have something of value to offer to those who are willing to learn.

I feel sorry for the people who lose their jobs when their are situations like this, but i struggle to have much sympathy for the big businesses involved in tourism. In every sector there are good or bad events which affect business, but none of those get support from the Government when times are bad. Its not as if when the tourism operators are raking it in with the ever increasing records of tourist arrivals are paying extra to the Government as a thank you. Why when its a bad turn do the public have to lend their support to them? Do private businesses in other sectors get help when their business is struggling? The tour operators have had years of growth, surely many of them have made enough money to absorb shutting up shop for a few months...

They can't absorb any loss because Thais don't think about or plan for the future, they live in the moment of today. This economic model doesn't work and never will work yet they still refuse to accept how us white folk do things. They think they know more than we do. I guess I'm stupid is why I was able to retire early and will never have to worry about money for today or tomorrow.
