  1. No. It takes a man and a woman. The only problem is that many men will leave after the baby is born, or soon thereafter. A woman that's pregnant by a man that leaves isn't a scumbag. Naive maybe, but many men are players, and this still hasn't gotten girls to think before they act, even though generations have taught them to wait before having sex, preferably after marriage.
  2. Always amazes me that some women actually will still leave to another place with someone they just met. Subtracting hookers of course. Ted Bundy killed over 35 women that "trusted" him because he looked normal and talked nice. Very simple. If you're attracted to a man you see that talks nice to you, arrange to meet him another day, in public, to find out more. If it goes okay then, arrange another date somewhere else, public, to find out find out even more. Let them do the talking. Continue to date in public until you feel you can trust him enough to go further, if you want to. This alone will curtail many rapes, robberies and murders. Her having a condom on her person is never a good thing, and shows intent.
  3. Ask other expats here where they live. If close, ask to meet up. Some you might want to avoid, and you can tell much of this by their comments. If you're a Brit, and you see them trashing Brits, obviously you avoid them. Like interests? Something to do with them while living here. I'm a hunter and fisherman but haven't met any that are close. A majority here are in and around the big cities of Thailand, so that makes it easy for many here to meet up. If you're in the boondocks it's not so easy. Only way is going to the local bars, which all cities have, or in a Lotus, but some barely smile when you smile at them. I tried talking to one at our local Lotus, and his wife came over and grabbed him and scurried away. The look on his face. I'm guessing she didn't want him to talk to others, thinking they might give him ideas.
  4. Thailand is in the Interpol database. Stolen passports are put in if they are stolen in Thailand. A few do get by every year with stolen passports, but stolen passports aren't used much for flying but for ID purposes. What happened just a few years ago won't happen now. If you handed your passport to someone and he immediately went to get a flight, and if they looked alike, it might get past some not paying attention. Once a passport is reported stolen, it can't be used for flying.
  5. Not one to assume, but it does sound like you know what he's doing.
  6. But then he'd have to still fly to England. Cheapest way is straight there, maybe 2 stops, unless Finland was the next stop from Thailand, but according to the story, his girlfriend expected him back straight away. not side trip to Finland and not going on.
  7. True, but again, this one is known to keep in close contact with his, which means they're close, and probably not so nasty.
  8. If you can change your face that fast you belong in the next Mission Impossible movie. Immigration does this all day, every day, and aren't stupid. Granted you might get one who's at the end of his shift, his wife is mad at him, or he lost 10,000 baht playing cards, but that's not going to happen a lot. Of all the times I've flown, in US, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Korea and Chinese airports, not once did they just glance and let me go. The only place that's a little easier is your own country, with mine, the US, it doesn't take so long for me, but I've watched many foreigners coming into the US and they aren't just passed by in 10 seconds.
  9. You said you can sell your airline ticket to another and also your passport. Granted, there are people who can make a fake passport, although it's very hard, and still you cannot sell your ticket to another person and have them use it. I flew to Canada twice to hunt, and they kept me there at least 5 minutes both times looking at my passport, asking what I was going to do in Canada, and where I lived. Thailand has always looked at my passport picture, glancing at me a few times, to make sure it was me. Yes, there are people who look alike, but would they look like this person who's missing, eve if he sold his ticket to them, which wouldn't work unless the passport matched the ticket, meaning a fake one. Immigration knows people change hair color, lose weight, use or not use makeup, and have up to 10 years to make any changes, so they don't just glance at a passport and say go on. I've never seen it with myself, nor anyone in front of me on line. If you're in the departure area, you already went through immigration, and when you board, they usually also check your passport and boarding pass again.
  10. Nasty lots usually aren't too concerned about a family member's whereabouts.
  11. Because it's what immigration does everywhere I've traveled. Protocol is usually the same as far as travelers on airlines.
  12. Anywhere I've flown, the officer checking passports always scrutinized the passport picture, looking at me to make sure I was the one on the passport. This includes the US where I'm from. As far as I know airline tickets are non transferable. You can change flights for yourself but not let another fly on your ticket.
  13. 48 years ago? They don't look for those who run away here after 1 year .
  14. Do you cut your own hair or does it look like this?.......https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/news/2023/11/indian-woman-sets-record-with-worlds-longest-hair-measuring-over-two-metres-761784
  15. Skimming has you miss the rest of others posts, including the one that came before this one.................True, and hundreds are sold into slavery, murdered, kidnapped for ransom, and have accidents, so people who care for others actually worry
  16. I didn't say he was sold . I said many are sold, daily actually. Trafficking also involves drug runners. I don't need TV to keep up on what goes on in the world. News, TV news, yahoo news, word of mouth are ways one sees what's going on worldwide. TV is for movies and series.
  17. They keep records of people who actually do border the plane of course, by checking in at showing your boarding pass. Where could he disappear from the plane to border control? They won't tell anyone besides the authorities any information about passengers, to safeguard their, and others flight.
  18. He is the one who keeps in touch with his family frequently. This is why they are worried. Him getting on another flight besides the one where he's going home, as told to his girlfriend, is suspicious. Why to Finland? I don't assume things but it does sound fishy, and if it were my son, I would also wonder why he changed plans to a totally different country.
  19. That's true, but they would have to ask in person or maybe from a police station who can verify details.
  20. Well, some older children care about their parents, and keep in touch. Some much of the time because they are close.
  21. True, and hundreds are sold into slavery, murdered, kidnapped for ransom, and have accidents, so people who care for others actually worry.
  22. What battlefield might that ever be? I know it needs a military to keep order with protestors, but the police can handle those. I know the problems with terrorism need to be kept in check in southern Thailand, so there is a need, but does it have to be so big, and have a need for warships, submarines and high tech aircraft. As far as the trainers, abuse never works in training, and only creates anger. Anger that can spill over into personal life.
  23. I read the story and watched the soundless video. Words were said, and the "bouncer" didn't like what was said, so he pushed him. The last time he fell. It doesn't say what the head wound was caused by, though the girl let go and his head fell back. I didn't see where he politely told the man not to lean on his car. The story also doesn't have where they live, unless you found more information on it. Words can surely piss one off and want them to hit, but they would have to be personal attacks to enrage a normal man. The bouncer shoved the man first, then again. He hit his head on the last shove. The story and update does say he was a Canadian tourist. This is what you said earlier................................... Maybe they have been watching the news of the riots back home and didn’t want to miss out? I think there will be more to this incident than just leaning on a car. Thais just don’t go around bashing farangs for no reason. Likely an assault on a female or not wanting to pay a bill followed by some mouthing off and drunkenness has caused this................ Assuming is more your style. I go by facts. This is also what you said...................The drunk Canadian fell over after being asked to get off somebody else’s car. .
  24. Maybe. Her husband had gone out to socialize, assuming they live or stay in or around Pattaya. He's a Canadian national, which could mean they are on vacation back here and live in Canada. In any event, if they indeed live here somewhere, he probably won't go back to the bars in Pattaya.
  25. Let's see, checklist for the beach visit. Towels, change of clothes, suntan lotion, ice chest with drinks, snacks, hat, phone, sunglasses and knives.
