You're missing the point. Attacks against foreigners, and robberies and murders, have been going on , escalating more to the present. There are people who will not come after hearing this, especially families with children. You can see the stats show it's down. People aren't "snowflakes" if they want a safe holiday. That's plain being smart. This forum, along with the news, gets out to hundreds of thousands of foreigners that are related to people here, and watch the TV and Yahoo news. Just my few friends telling me this means people are changing their minds, and that's only my friends. Tourists might not watch Thai TV or this forum, but they have friends and family here that do. The more crime increases against foreigners, and the less that's done about it, the less people will consider Thailand as a vacation destination and go elsewhere that has the same things. The ones that will continue to come here, as well as new ones, are the ones looking for sex from young girls cheap. The environmental damage from tourism will change minds also, and some places might end up being off limits eventually.

Any act of violence anywhere drops tourism in that area. There are a lot of people who want to visit Thailand, and word of mouth gets around. People see in the news daily what goes on here, along with advice from those that live here. The way foreigners are treated here will stop many from coming, with the exception of China because they are in cahoots with each other. I've heard from a couple of expats here that said their friends were considering coming here, but after seeing people killed on the islands, decided to go to Mexico, The Caribbean and Europe instead. Multiply those by all the people who have been here, stayed here, and heard the news, and it will, and has dropped. Thinking the victim will want to come back here is ridiculous. All of the foreigners that have been victims here have friends and family, who now know what goes on here . Certain areas, the tourist areas, will lose tourists.......https://www.bangkokpost.com/learning/advanced/2800713/thailand-drops-11-places-in-tourism-ranking.

1. Absent parents can't teach a boy how to be a man. Parents in the home who are irresponsible and only have children because they had sex. Parents who abuse, along with teachers who strike children with sticks when they're a little out of line. Violence is taught here daily by those who experienced the same thing growing up. Narcissistic parents who control to get a child to adhere to unrealistic expectations. 2. See #1. 3. See # 1 4. See # 1.

Someone who can readily handle themselves is going to trash one of these "bouncers" one day, because they have to fight in packs, or get a running start before kicking someone in the head that's already down. Only problem is, when that bouncer goes to the hospital, the foreigner will be blamed even if he didn't start the fight but finish it.

You actually called me gullible, which I've never been. Assuming things is being gullible, taking for granted it's the victim's fault without knowing any facts about the situation. Thais do attack foreigners, as well as other locals, daily. If you watch TV you will see just a fraction of what happens in the country. Letting these kinds of cowards get away with assault, if they do, as happens a lot here, especially on foreigners, will kill the tourism here, and eventually people will start going elsewhere.

That's the point. No one knows the number, but it's many. I never waffle, babble, or blather.

Yes, this I found that sums it up............ How Much Do 1-Euro Homes in Italy Actually Cost? While the initial price of these villas and apartments is indeed a steal when they’re sold online or at auction, you’ll notice when you read the fine print that buyers must commit to remodeling the properties and often have a deadline of one to three years to do so. Fees associated with closing the sale are usually in the $5,000 to $6,000 ballpark, and then remodel costs can run the gamut from about $25,000 if you have a construction background and buy a small apartment to $500,000 for bringing in contractors to completely gut and renovate larger spaces. “[The 1-euro homes] can involve significant investment, often amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars,” Barion says. “These houses are usually on the brink of collapse and suffer from structural issues. Remodeling in Italy is not for the faint of heart.”

I saw just this weekend people getting on the train for work at rush hour there. They were trying to force their way on compartments that were already full. Two railroad helpers actually were pushing the people on to get the door closed. Not a place I would ever stay.

A big group originates in Issan, and most going to Pattaya are looking for the horizontal (vertical also). employment. Some go there invited by friends and work legitimate jobs, or want to meet a tourist for a possible future arrangement.

Ohhh. Assumptions, assumptions............

They're in remote towns, so whoever buys will have to want to settle down there.

I want to visit Italy, but I'll be moving back to the US. If you could buy a few and sell them it would be worth it, but I think they want you to live there so that's out.
-
I saw a show on that also. They want people living in them, which means more local economy money. Better that than empty.
-
Land no, homes you can. Even if it's in your wife's name, it's yours also, and you can live there indefinitely. You move, leaving Thailand, it's hers. You sell it, you split the profit.

Reel trouble in Phuket: Man hooked for fishing in temple pond
fredwiggy replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Releasing fish into what could be an overcrowded pond could lead to the fish not having enough food to eat, which would kill many of them. Unless they are prepared to feed them daily, better to release the fish into lakes that have been netted out by locals, because conservation isn't practiced here besides in the provincial parks. If they want to show compassion towards living things, conservation is the way. Put and take, allowing a fish population to breed and taking out a few now and then, not netting out the whole lake so there's nothing left. And allowing dogs to breed haphazardly countrywide without neutering or spaying their own animals makes a lot of dogs wandering around, making babies and killed daily on the roads. Fishing should be allowed anyway, catch and release, or if the ponds overcrowded, allowing a few taken to eat, feeding the monks, although this wouldn't happen because of the idea of showing compassion towards living things, which many here don't do anyway. -
Yes, and those who are lucky in their choices don't understand the other side, where the partner takes advantage of you, abuses you, cheats, wastes finances, doesn't care for the children but only uses them as manipulation, is only with you for the money and doesn't care about anything else, doesn't want to spend quality time because her phone means more, has depression , is a narcissist that gives you the silent treatment because she doesn't know how to communicate, and many more things that a lot of men go through because they fell in love with a pretty face and didn't take enough time to get to know her. Happens to most men at least once, and is the leading cause of divorce and children not having stability. If you have a good partner, which I will have someday, count your blessings because most women will never know the love of a good man, and most men aren't what you would call a good catch. Of course I'm only talking about what is considered a normal relationship, with a women who isn't involved in the sex industry, and that you have to pay to keep around. Those men can't make comments on what encompasses a normal relationship because what they have is a transaction relationship, and they don't understand the sacrifices a man has to make to find, and keep, a good woman, and raise his children by being a father who's there. More than half of marriages end in divorce, and 25% or more are in relationships they aren't satisfied with, or are unhappy, and only stay because of the children or finances. The breakdown of the family is the breakdown of society, so again, be glad you are in a stable relationship with a woman you can trust, as most men, and women aren't. If you are a good man, eventually true love comes your way, because you stay in that character, and eventually attraction will find you a permanent partner, one you can trust. The only way it doesn't is if you give up hope, and stay single out of fear or hatred. This I won't do.
-
Guess you don't understand how attraction works. It isn't a choice and just happens. Sometimes people are attracted to evil, and sometimes they aren't. When you go into a relationship, you must trust the other person, because if you don't, it hurts the relationship right off.. Problem is, many aren't trustworthy, and if you understand what a covert narcissist is, you would know how they use their charms, lies and body to pull you in, until they get you where they want you and then tear you down. This comes from an unbalanced, abusive or neglected childhood. They lovebomb you because it works. They tear you down because they grew up thinking the world sucks, and no one can be trusted. They target good people, because they know these are the givers, and those who readily trust others. A narcissist rarely ends up with another narc, but if they do, it's a warzone.

Most? How many do you know that are unstable? My ex here is definitely very unstable, uncaring and a covert narcissist, hits on no provocation, cheats, now has 4 boyfriends, one foreigner in Germany she's visiting now, and 2 Thai men here who have hit her, are drunks and threatened her family. There are many local women here who are greedy, mentally ill, and suffer from depression, as my ex also did. Makes for uncomfortable bedfellows, and can be dangerous. If you don't live with someone 24/7, you have no idea what's going on in their homes. People you see smiling and looking normal can be a serial killer, rapist, wife and kid beater or whatever.

I don't have any dogs as someone in our village keeps poisoning them, along with other's dogs. A few come to my house daily and help to keep the snakes away a little, but I still see them once in awhile. I'm not a snake killer but I wouldn't let a poisonous one go if I could identify it, as I feel if I let it go it might bite my daughter or some other child someday. Thailand has many poisonous snakes and it's another reason I want to move back home. In Texas there are 4 poisonous snakes and you don't see them much besides the occasional rattlesnake, which usually doesn't kill but can cause some damage. Thailand had many snakes that bite and if you don't get to the hospital very soon, you'll die.

I see almost daily those trucks used to transport children to and from school. Filled inside to capacity and up to 12 or more on top of the truck. Do this in the US and you won't do it again. Here it means nothing. Risking the lives of those children riding on the top is off the scale. Someone cuts them off and the driver has to swerve, all the kids on top go flying from 10 feet high, at whatever speed he's going, and maybe are either crippled or killed. This is yet another reason I will take my daughter out of here before she's into that school level.

What about this Samsung Washing Machine? Should one buy it?
fredwiggy replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in General Topics
Stay at the laundromat so no one will pilfer your clothes. I have a Panasonic over 6 years old, still working okay. -

It's easy. Women are partners and not slaves. 50/50 means just that. A normal woman appreciates everything a man does, if he does them. If you cleaned the kitchen, she wouldn't have to show you she cleaned it. If you picked up "your" clothes from the floor, which is a place they don't belong, she wouldn't have to complain.
