  1. Americans don't kill for thrills and walk away. We use the meat, and much is donated to homeless shelters. There are those that do this in every country. Hunters pay to protect game animals and usually aren't hunting to waste. Wasting game animals is definitely hideous,as there are those in the world who would do anything for that meat.
  2. All tourist areas have criminals waiting to exploit their trades. Happens worldwide so you have to not let yourself look like an easy target. They know tourists are there with cash, and they look for them to get drunk so they are easier targets, as was mentioned in other's posts. I wouldn't go there for any reason, as it's not my type of entertainment, but I see why others do. I lived near, and worked in NYC, for 30 years, and was there many nights, and never encountered any trouble because I never traveled alone and tried to fit in as much as possible.
  3. Nothing to do with politics. mental illness fuels gun violence no matter where it happens. No Democrats here but gun violence, including mass shootings, happen daily. Media has everyone thinking about gun violence in the US. Here it suppresses a lot, although the stats do get out.
  4. I didn't say only hunters had guns, but hunters aren't the ones committing the crimes. There are also target shooters, and those also aren't. It's mostly gang warfare and suicides that encompasses most gun crimes there. Peace loving citizens are also not the ones committing crimes, unless it's to keep them or their families safe, in self defense. The world is getting crazier each day, a lot because we let crazy leaders ply their trade, and corruption is rampant. Crimes aren't enforced harshly enough, especially here, where a fake wai and sorry gets many off harsh sentences. This shows others they can do the same things, knowing their punishment won't be so severe. You can kill, then leave the country and come back later, and all is well. That doesn't happen in western countries. You commit murder, you're a fugitive waiting to be punished, no matter when you're caught. Riots and protests happen everywhere but here you're silenced for speaking your mind. What many aren't seeing is that crime is increasing everywhere, especially in countries where the officials are involved in human trafficking, where cash can get many off, because getting paid or giving cash compensation closes many cases. More road rage in the west maybe yes, but traffic deaths here are higher than most anywhere, and it's rage plus incompetency and ignorance that has the rate so high, and this will not change for a very long time to come, if ever.
  5. Happening daily isn't relatively rare, and Thailand has more intentional homicides than the US, and gun crime is rising daily here also, along with the regular daily attacks with sticks, knives and machetes. Yes, we like guns, because America has thousands of hunters, but we abhor violence. Not sure who you know there who likes it. Many mass shootings happen in Thailand also, although not as much as the US, at least for now.
  6. And robbing and accosting anyone is okay, even if the victim is drunk or acting stupid? I'm thinking it's better to stay away from those types, and not victimize anyone.
  7. Yes, and it's still cowardice, because they both aren't taught respect for life and are too afraid to fight one on one. Of course it's dangerous because they might lose the fight without resorting to a gang or weapons. Honor means doing things the right way. There are gangs everywhere that do this, and it's still cowardice.
  8. This type of behavior usually comes from having either an absent father or an abusive one, where the boy wasn't taught respect for life in general, and out into a world where there are many other teen boys in the same predicament, solving problems with sticks, knives and guns, and attacking helpless people because they're too cowardly to fight one on one.

  10. Are you waking up with morning wood? If so, it isn't physical and might be psychological and a need to see someone who can help with that. This might help................https://www.forhims.co.uk/blog/no-morning-erection-what-morning-wood-says-about-your-health
  11. Being drunk and stupid isn't a reason to be accosted, and it happens a lot here daily.
  12. Lifted weights from age 17 to now. Liked heavy training and squats are part of it, although I went overboard with the heaviness.
  13. Out of curiosity I tried it and stopped at 2 minutes each leg and could have gone on longer.Wasn't hard but felt it in my knees because of all the squatting I've done all my life.
  14. Those stats are over 8 years old. The obesity rate here is in the middle teens at least and rising yearly.
  15. Remember also there are millions of women accepting fat men worldwide because of their finances. Nothing wrong with preferring a slim girl over a fat one, but the attitude that brings can be deeper than just their weight. Women gain weight for many reasons. Not being treated well in a relationship is one of them.
  16. That video doesn't show much of what's there. I worked out for 45 years in many, many gyms, including training others for over 16, and believe me, there are thousands of very fit women in them, along with the general public. Of course more are overweight, but that is everywhere, including here where obesity is rising, and will continue indefinitely because of the way people eat.
  17. Yes, teen years only last a few years.
  18. I've always done more than my share of the work in all departments, because I saw it with my dad growing up, besides the kids thing which was mostly my mom. Reading a lot on what makes women happy or angry, I decided to not do the things that make them mad, at least as much as possible.
  19. Financial problems, including savings and bill management, child rearing, schools for kids, shopping, vacation and travel, health issues for everyone, yard work, house work, taking care of pets, planning for get togethers and other things where having a good partner helps tremendously.
  20. So many daily assumptions here from supposedly older expats. Do you know this man personally? What he did was of course wrong and this probably wasn't the first time he's driven drunk but surely you don't know.
  21. Good album, especially his version of Sweet Jane with Steve Hunter's intro.
  22. Just like most vitamins. Unless you are vitamin deficient, much of what you take is wasted in urine. If you eat a balanced diet, basic, you should get all you need. Vitamin D is one that will be needed if your body doesn't absorb enough from sunshine or supplements, but the only way to know is to be checked. Whatever you ate yesterday might give you the feeling you have today. Here's more info.............https://www.health.com/mind-body/does-iv-vitamin-therapy-work
  23. Yes, in the last few years, more research has come around about artificial sweeteners and it has me concerned. We don't live forever, and genetics does play a role, but what you put in your body can surely make a difference in lowering the chances for disease, which leaves your body stronger. I use honey also sometimes. I always liked Splenda, as it tastes the best out of all of them, but now Stevia is first on my list until another one comes around. The thing about sugar, is that it takes more to sweeten than the substitutes, which lowers your calorie intake and empty calories from sugar are also bad. I don't eat processed meats besides the occasional sandwich with sliced turkey and when I shoot a deer, I have sausage made with deer and lean pork, which isn't bad.
  24. I agree about the darker, richer roasts. More flavor means less need for sweetener. I'm hoping to visit Vietnam next year, before I move back to Texas, and maybe Malaysia. I always heard Vietnam coffee is the best. I know you can buy it here, but wanting to visit and have it while I'm there makes it more special.
