Everyone needs someone to be there for them. That's human behavior. Some don't want it because of negative relationships where a woman hurt them. You can be independent and still want someone there for company, sex, shared times, a team to get things done. I learned to cook watching my dad, and also to clean. Taking more care of my children than my ex's did, and do. Sometimes a man has to be Mr. Mom because the mom doesn't want the job. A stable man learns from both parents, that the other is a partner and not a slave. A boy sees mom doing everything and thinks that's mom's job, and all dad has to do is bring home money. That always leads to strife.

I'm thinking it's attraction more than psychology, and the fact they speak English a lot more there. Some men want a mother figure, most want a girl like their mom in some ways, and to look different than her for obvious reasons.

This goes along with outdated thinking. Showing support, care and love for your partner is normal behavior. Holding hands being one part of this. The lack of care here is obvious and this is one way it shows. I do see more people holding hands than when I first moved here, albeit only 6 years ago, and I'm thinking more have also noticed. The younger generation wants things like westerners do. They like our music, fashions, movies and other things so adopting holding hands comes with that, and is normal. It's the elders that frown on this. Part of a country becoming a developed one instead of third world, suppressed thinking.

Why are most movies released post-2000 unwatchable?

You originally said before 2000. I listed what IMDB has, and many are after 2005. I'm not sure what movies you are watching, but I watch most of what comes out, and there are still good movies being made. -

Watch more movies. Many do not have happy endings. The ones you listed, although not too bad, have people flying around, which is unrealistic and takes away from the movie. Look at No Country for Old Men, The Hateful Eight, Gladiator, just to name three. No happy endings.I've watched thousands of movies, and many, many Asian, and the actors are just not that good. I have the movies you listed in my collection. I'm not a hero worshiper by any means, looking at actors as just that. Good at what they do, but hardly worth the worship some give them. -

The ones that are listed are excellent movies. Asian movies, some, are okay, but Hollywood still reigns supreme and probably always will. I'm not referring to kids action movies, where much of it is CG. John Woo has made some good movies but most of what's made in Asia pales by comparison. -

There have been many excellent movies made since 2000. If you're a movie buff, especially seeing you rarely leave your house, this should be easy for you to research. Do you have Netflix? I do agree most of the best movies made were made before that. Look at these, at least 55 I like that have high ratings for a reason...............https://www.imdb.com/list/ls002065120/. -
"Many ambulance drivers are driving with sirens blaring and lights flashing with a non urgent patiant or no patiant at all . Hard to take them seriously"................... Of course you are. Again, you aren't in ANY ambulances you see going by with lights on, so you're assuming what they're doing, unless of course you follow all of them to the hospital to see if they have a patient inside. A priority call, short of an emergency, still has ambulances using their lights and sirens, to get the patient to the hospital as soon as safely possible.

I've seen hundreds of ambulances going to the hospitals. both here and back in the US, and many times there were cars following them, obviously family members wanting to be there at the hospital to see how their family was doing, and both were either speeding or just going a little fast, depending on how the traffic was in front of and around them.

Flying back to Texas next month with my daughter and only hope we can get lucky and have one seat empty for the 11 hour from Tokyo to the US. Rare even more is when I fly myself and two seats are empty so I can stretch out and sleep. Not much else you can do as watching three movies doesn't take up 11 hours.

A woman, what was inevitable eventually. Let's see if she does anything worthwhile. Most presidents just pick up the pieces from the previous ones, and most do something good, along with things stupid and unnecessary. I'm not near a chauvinist or misogynist. God has man as the leader in a family, and it works out well when that man does his job properly, and doesn't look at his wife as secondary or a slave, which is how most here, and in other countries, look at women. I've always , when I was married or in a long relationship, do more than my share of child rearing, cooking, cleaning and yard work.

True that it takes a bit to adapt to driving on the other side of the road, unless you come from certain European countries. I'm sure some accidents come from these mistakes. The US enforces road laws strictly, and people stay alive because of it. Here no one cares who dies, and it shows with the lack of enforcement of laws already on the books. If you put Texas cops on the road here for a year, the deaths would drop from 65b a day to 5, and many people would go broke here with their driving habits.
