    Don't really care......IT WORKS.

I'll try to give you the benefit of the doubt here.

Let's say you were recommending your SIM to anyone here....how would they find it?

An accurate description or a link.

Currently DTAC have a few 12 month packs.

One is 15 Mbps Unlimited for around 1600 baht, another 30 Mbps Unlimited for around 1900 baht.

For full speed plans they have 60 GB and 100 GB for around 1600 and 2000 respectively; both with all network calls.

But you claim to have 20 Gb/s with a 60GB limit It's not possible. So you have made a mistake.

If you are recommending your pack to anyone; at least confirm the details of what you actually have. No one is saying it isn't any good. I am saying that you are confusing your packs and descriptions...which is confusing to the reader.

I think this is your one: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/turbo-60gb-maxspeed-sim-net-dtac-i1933472323-s6112768869.html

"Up to 100 Mbps". That explains why you can get 20 Mbps or more. Gb/s was obviously a typo on your part.

Don't get mad at me ????

Looks like you will have to use mobile internet. I am not sure if a mobile antenna would improve reception. Worth trying though.

If you choose an unlimited use package, then 1000 baht a month is to be expected.

No...1000 baht is not to be expected. You pay that if you need speeds over 30 Mbps and reception and your equipment allows you to attain the high speeds for which you would pay. Otherwise better to stick to the capped speed plans for 300 baht per month and less.

Hi all hoping someone can point me in the right direction, as the title suggests i have built a house even further out in the sticks and when i tried to get 3BB to install fibre broadband they said they would need 3 additional customers in the vicinity of my house  i suppose to make it worth their while. There are probably about 5 houses within a mile or so but the occupants are usually in the fields 12 hrs a day not sat at laptops so doubt they would be interested, I have been using my dtac sim (I upgraded the package to unlimited costs over 1000b per month) to watch TV through my laptop (iPlayer, Sky go) and firestick but its not a patch on fibre and keeps freezing my question is are there any better options for me ?  I am not really IT literate in any way so simple suggestions only please TIA

Madness. Unlimited data capped at 30 Mbps costs under 270 baht per month with DTAC or Truemove H..

But you need to obtain a new SIM in order to be able to avail yourself of the package.

Of course you need to find out which of the networks can supply 30 Mbps at your location. Seems not DTAC; as you state that it keeps freezing. But that could have something to do with your equipment.

Are you using your phone as a HotSpot? Which model exactly?

My advice to you would be to go out and obtain a new 50 baht AIS SIM TODAY; as their promos are slated to run until the 12th.

Get the SIM, top up 20 baht or so, tap in *777*71# on your phone and then press the call key. That should give you enough data to run a speed test via https://testmy.net  Test My Internet > Combined Speed Test.

If the result is good, I will explain how to apply either and unlimited data @ 15 Mbps or Unlimited data @ 20 Mbps; 200 baht or 300 baht respectively.

Greetings, I was wondering if someone could recommend a restaurant/bar/hotel that does a good western breakfast in Jomtien. My ex- and daughter will be there for three days. I can't make it, so can't shop around myself. They are both English but aren't too fussy on what they eat.

Also, if anyone could help, is the night market and the angry birds playground next to it open yet?

    Thanks

Yes, the Night Market and playground are open.

The best clean and good curry for me is now at Lotus food court, because for 60 thb you get green curry + rice + omelet

any scammer street seller who can compete ?

Are you looking for a "scammer street seller" or do you just have a really disgusting attitude to the people around you?

Seems the CCTs love a food thread...so they can malign anyone who doesn't sell food as cheaply as it can be made.

You can get yourself a 20 baht bag of Green Curry and 5 baht portion of rice and pop a 10 baht fried egg on top, from a "scammer street seller"? Take your own plate.

Personally I look for good quality, rather than the lowest price. I want real fresh coconut milk in my curries, alongside something other than gristly meat floating in an insipid liquid.

I went for a Dell Inspiron in the end.

26,490.00 THB reduced from 40K from Powerbuy

Waiting for delivery, but will probably not arrive until after Songkran.

    Decent spec so fingers crossed!

    Platinum Silver Notebook INSPIRON 3511 15.6'' W56625304BTHW10-3511-PS-W

    Quantity: 1

    Price: ฿26,490.00

    Delivery method: Standard MKP

Wasn't reduced from anything. That's the normal price for the 3000 series.

For example, you could have purchased one with an 400 NIT or 600 NIT OLED screen for much the same: https://www.asus.com/th/Laptops/For-Home/All-series/filter?Category=OLED-display&Spec=13

    https://www.asus.com/th/Laptops/For-Home/Vivobook/Vivobook-Pro-15-OLED-K3500-11th-Gen-Intel/

Though DELL have a better warranty; though perhaps a 250 NIT screen with relatively poor colour reproduction.

  7. Perform SFC and DISM Scans

In most cases, a corrupted system breaking the login process will cause the Failure to display security and shut down options on Windows 10 situation. Two built-in utilities - SFC (System File Checker) and DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management) can fix the corrupted Windows files.

You should perform both scans in order to ensure that any sort of system file corruption is fixed because the two procedures somewhat complement each other. Here’s a quick guide to perform SFC and DISM sans:

Step 1: Press the Windows key + R key to open the Run dialog box. Then, type cmd and press the Ctrl + Shift + Enter keys to open the elevated Command Prompt. Then click Yes to grant administrative privileges.

Step 2: Type the following command inside and press Enter to initiate an SFC scan(System File Checker scan): sfc /scannow.

Note: Keep in mind that it’s not recommended to stop the process forcibly once you start it because this operation will damage your Windows system files.

Step 3: Once the scan is finished, you need to restart your computer. Then you can check if this error is still existing.

If the problem is still there, follow step 1 again to open another elevated CMD prompt. Then, type the following command and press Enter to perform a DISM scan: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.

This thread is hilarious, a thread on street food where posters talk like they're in a Michelin star restuarant lol

Meanwhile I had a great 80 baht Chicken Kebab last night from Turkish Kebab on soi Buakhao (near treetown) ????

Should street food be crud? It should not be unusual to discuss what makes a particular preparation better than another. Have you ever visited a Michelin starred restaurant or even cooked for yourself? ???? What was great about the kebab?  ????  Good that you are happy. Why not leave others to be happy too? It's restaurant.

There is not best anything, it's just idiots who comment this way.

But 2 good Khao man guy around pattaya are the most famous one in front of Tukcom and the one on top of Pratamnak soi 5.

And they are good with reason, rice really cooked in chicken fat, not good because one of those idiots said that it's good without any specific reason.

Khao man gai is terrible at any mall, they all reuse the past day chicken... especially bigC.

If chicken is not hung before you, do not eat !

There is clearly a large gap in what we consider to be good Khao Man Gai.

The best chicken comes from when the chicken is cooked in front of you. More tender and juicy.

For this reason I used to eat it regularly at a stall opposite the Pattaya Tai market. She would boil the chicken on the spot. So even precooked hung chicken can be unacceptably dry. But each to their own.

Then the sauce provided can vary. It's not just about the rice and it isn't just about the chicken.

In the middles of nowhere, half way up a mountain , you can count on my vote.

Should be totally banned from smoking until Thais can learn to live with alcohol and cut road deaths by 80%

Don't you get tired of writing exactly the same things? I don't like people smoking around me either; but you are overreacting in a ridiculous manner.

Thais learn to live with alcohol? What a pompous statement!

Well that's good  to hear. So they behaved as expected.  But that's  not how we judge services. They are assessed on the mistakes  they make. When I flew them to Germany  the flight was two hours delayed, sitting in plane, no help or advice was given  regarding not missing connection. It was also expensive.

Actually they were better than expected. Friendly and engaging in the seat and throughout the journey.

Your experience with Lufthansa has echoes of my experience with Qatar. They didn't say anything about a medical emergency until I claimed compensation and they didn't say anything about a medical emergency even then...until they ran out of excuses.

Worse still, I could have caught the connection, but they deliberately did not let us on...even though they were responsible for the delay.

    So Qatar ????

Luthansa are unreliable with impolite inefficient staff . BA are even worse!

    "pilot suicide/murder risk.  terrorist funding.."

    LOL Illogical nonsense

Lufthansa staff were very pleasant with me on the A380 FRA-BKK-FRA. Would certainly fly with them again.

  13. Would not ever fly with them again. They ripped me off more than once.

I made a booking at the airport for travel immediately as I had just missed a flight and didn't notice that their booking website moved the flight 24 hours, as the two hour cut-off kicked in whilst I was making the booking. The flight prices were exactly the same.

Walked over to their desk and explained the issue to them. They refused to amend the booking, stating that I did it deliberately! That of course made no sense at all, since I was at the airport waiting for the flight and if that was the case, I would have booked the first flight out, which was perhaps 7 to 8 hours later, rather than exactly 24 hours from the intended flight.

This within five minutes of making the booking. They absolutely refused. This after already losing money on the business class flight that I missed prior to booking this new flight. Disgusting.

Then on another Qatar booking, they were late, but refused to pay the mandated EU compensation, claiming a medical emergency. CAA investigated and found no such report and suggested that I sue Qatar Airways.

    I will happily avoid them.

Oh I am so sorry you must be right. Kau Man Gai is generally an evening dish. I guess old hands like you can really put young newbies like me in our place.   ????  Do me one favor though, walk through any Thai town before 9am and see what is being served.

Any Thai town? So Pattaya doesn't count?
