Why not get the 8 MBPS instead of 2? Good advice. In fact all of you have been giving me some good advice, thank you.

Now please forgive me, I am not all that tech savvy, what is "data leakage solution". And how do I use that for 2 weeks when I am only in Thailand 60 days. I don't understand how this works. Can't I just buy this package every 15 days from start to finish of my holiday?

DTAC and Truemove H have an annoying system whereby packages of seven days and over expire at midnight on the last day. (A bit of a rip off, as if you begin the package an hour before midnight, the first day will just be an hour long. So to get the full fifteen days, you need to start the pack, just after midnight.)

When it comes to renewal; unless you are awake at midnight when the package is due to end and renew a few seconds afterward, any data usage will come out of your remaining credit.

A 'data leakage' solution usually gives you a free or inexpensive very slow connection that takes over when the package runs out, in order to prevent you being charged for data when the package runs out.

In conclusion, you can renew every fifteen days, but you might be charged for data usage in the time the package has run out and before you get to renew it again. The 'data leakage' solution they provide via the application is designed to stop you from being charged during that time.

  2. The old scammers are dying. If they charged Thais 100 baht each to sit in a deckchair, they can kiss goodbye to their business.

Any surprise to see the huge rise in the 50 baht beach mat vendors?  50 baht and everyone in your group can sit on it. 100 baht each? Not a chance.

    Foreigner price ????

50 baht for a deckchair and 50 baht for the coconut. simon43 paid the right price in the first place....and that is coming from someone who isn't a fan ????

If I was to choose the DTAC 2 MBPS Unlimited monthly package for 374 baht it says it automatically renews. That's OK but I only need it for 2 Months. The last thing I want or need is auto renew when I am not there and they consequently drain my account. How do you stop auto renew once you have left or no longer want it?

Alternatively, chose their 15 day Unlimited 8 Mbps pack for 179.76 baht; much the same price as the unlimited 2 Mbps pack.

Apparently there is a data leakage solution available via their application. So use that for the period in between renewals as you won't have the option of the 8 Mbps pack auto-renewing.

I don't believe I've met any couple in any country where the guy didn't bring all the assets to the table. Sure the white women pretended to work/contribute for a while, but usually found a reason to stop, or just spent all the money they earned on themselves..

Wow...I've not ever been in such a relationship. Though I know of one(not being specific) who almost fits that category. In fact some women(specifically Germans) would get positively angry if I tried to pay.

    Scandinavians also fair minded.

You know what they say about a fool and his money...

Thanks, will try next month! Not that i usually need a higher speed but it is always great to have the option when my landline internet is not working.

Edit: I just saw there are also DTAC codes, maybe I try one tomorrow, they are also looking great. Thanks again!

No guarantee that old codes will work; but if you are willing to try, it could be useful to others too.

Thanks everyone for being so helpful. There really are some reasonable plans out there. I'm only staying for 2 Months so I will do 2 x 30 day data plans. I don't do much video stuff so I might do the 2 mbps unlimited add on for around 481 baht, cheers.

The code seems to works for old SIMs too - at lest for me, i tried it tonight at 00:00 when my old extra package ran out :-).

Unfortunately it shows in the true app a little bit cryptic without an end date: IPK_DS_RC_N4MBWIFI_30D, Remaining Unlimited (that shows usually the MB counter for the plan). I started downloading something larger and I was not getting a SMS "You already used XX baht of Internet" nor could i see a change on the money i have. So, seem to work for me.

That is nearly twice as expensive for half of the speed.

Yup, thanks. That is the only one I found which is decent, but I'm sure she will complain about the 900 baht ???? But let me try ...

That's great if the Truemove H code works for old SIMs.

Here is an example of the original promo:

    https://web.facebook.com/1426088420978890/posts/2615205112067209/

50 baht more for 10 Mbps if the codes still work.

    Quote

Update unlimited internet promotion. No speed reduction. For customers who open a new SIM, apply within 7 days for all 3 camps. Apply before 24 June 2563 only.

The codes, allegedly for new SIM only, were supposed to have expired two years ago ????

Thanks for the options so far. Funny, my ex visited me today and asked about a good option for DTAC. I can't find anything decent online, maybe someone has a good code?

Something monthly prefered, 4mbit or more (no auto renewal). Somthin like Cyril posted but for DTAC.

What cyril has posted is for newly opened SIM only, not for existing SIM.

Is she willing to take a new SIM?

If not, their cheapest normal 30 day pack is Unlimited 2 Mbps for 374.50. It is set to auto-renew, but can only do so if there is 374.50 on account. So don't worry about that.

If she is happy to take a 90 day pack; DTAC have 90 day Unlimited 10 Mbps for 900 baht exclusive. I guess that's the best choice for an existing SIM @ 321 baht per month for up to 10 Mbps.

A million years ago I was engaged to an Austrian girl.  Her family was very rich and had a house on the lake at Mond Sea, a penthouse right next to "the hills are alive" castle in Salzberg and a mansion at the foot of the skiing peaks at Badgastein (spelling).

Anyway we stayed in the penthouse which was fun.  And while she was at work I ventured out to get a spare door key for the apartment cut.  I went to one of the little Mister Minit style franchise booths that had key cutting.  Nothing fancy just a standard serrated edged door key- not even brass.  This was my first day in Salzberg and so I did not quite have my head around shillings.  Anyway I paid for the key and when back at the apartment started to do the math.  I was charged the equivalent of 36 USD for the new key.  I sat there fuming until my girlfriend arrived home from work.  The guy must of ripped me off with a tourist price.  But when I told my girlfriend the story her response was that the amount I paid was very reasonable, perhaps even cheap.

Austria sucked then.  I am sure it sucks even harder now.  Not a hope in hell I would be paying a daily tourist charge to visit.

Haha...for a second I thought we had the same girlfriend. But the locations ruled that out.

They lived next door to a prominent politician and had a summer house in the Alps with an electric sliding roof. Those are just two in which I stayed.

Swarovski family were around too. Memories ????

What you've described throughout this discussion is a life where women/girls have practically thrown themselves at you since you were 15, and because of this you're (naturally) less inclined to chase women or pay for them.

I don't think that can be called a different school of thought. It's more about your good fortune.

It's a bit like someone who was born into money saying their penchant for buying Ferraris and Rolex's is just because they have good taste.

P.S. I'm now also wondering if the bar owners are struggling to find bar girls because all the bar girls are lining up outside your place? ????

I appreciate the humour, but it's really about standards.

Avoid trap of losing money to women.

    Reply to this question:

I think every man pay way or other in relationship and he should! Still can be alpha male! But if lose all money to woman or you are on womans leash then you are looser.

I have not been whit 500 woman but (or dont know, stop counting after hair start grow in down low) have had "few". Still have make mistake whit asian woman(Filipina) and was looser because not make prenup whit her! Whit my Thai woman im not pay much, she manage her self almost everything and government pay our other house in town. I help in other way , help family in farm drive stuff to sell etc. I know ofcourse she dont mind if i give her more money lol. But if you start give much you cant come back to give less!

Have you considered that an Alpha male is not quite what you imagine?

You are paying for everything, but you imagine that you are the Alpha?

So to be an Alpha you have to pay for everything; but if she outsmarts you then you are a loser. ????

So are you an Alpha or a Loser? Can you be both?

Seems like you are looking for a problem to fit the solution.

Pay way or other? What does that mean? Of course you pay with your time. If you are paying with your time and paying for everything; you are already a loser. Just fooling yourself that it makes you superior. Forget about that Alpha nonsense ????

Yeah if you are on Mobile and doing torrents not a real good combo.

I am mostly seeding from my House (Raspberry Pi) and I am also going through a VPN as my ISP doesn't want to give me a Public Ip address (CGNAT), but I have limited the up and download speed to 15Mb and I store the torrents on my NAS.  (My ISP hasn't complained yet but how would they know 555555)

"Doing Torrents" on a mobile connection is not a issue if you use an online Torrent processor, as all of the heavy lifting is done offline. Your connection will only be used when you are ready to download or stream securely.

If you choose to use Private Trackers then may have the obligation to Seed/Upload. The answer is to use a Public source; therefore not having that obligation thrust upon you.

The OP is likely not interested in Seeding. Neither he nor we have any idea of the speed of the connection he is running. Likely not more that 10 Mbps; quite possibly lower.

Why is he using IPTorrents in the first place is again only known to himself and the person who sent him the invite.

  14. 12 minutes ago, MJCM said:

ahahaha thx. So still no good for the op with the 336 Hours seeding time!

So a real seedbox (seedhost.eu) is a good one for him and he can use FTP (Filezilla app) to download the files to his PC to watch them!

Ridiculous....that OP cannot even troubleshoot his current issue; but you expect him to be able to use something like that.... ????

Keep it simple. Paste in a link, click on the produced secure link. That's it.

Why are you still going on about this when I have already stated that if Seeding is an issue that he can go with a service that offers a guarantee?

I am still talking about filestream.me

    From the Faq

Filestream.me -> Faq ->What seed ratio do you provide?

But can you explain this  from the Faq?

"if you are downloading popular torrents, we ensure that your seed ratio at least stays the same"

No; since the service has nothing to do with me. ???? Best that they explain their policies.

Try to keep in mind that the OP is on a very limited mobile broadband connection and that he speaks of multiple Torrents not processing.

Do you think that he has been seeding all of his Torrents for a minimum of two weeks? That would involve his mobile phone being permanently tethered. Perhaps you should stop pretending to speak for the OP.

but as the OP doesn't know what a Seedbox is, he might think that this is also one.

Indeed that's how most of us ( I suppose), of the older age group heard music we liked for the first time- on the radio. If we liked it we went to the record store and bought the 45 and if we liked that we bought the LP.

Some of us actually have lives that don't involve spending hours on google to find stuff we like. Some of us actually have more important things to do.

All you are doing is showing your age and inflexibility. Google? Who searches for music on Google? ????

You are not evolving, but simply stagnating. You sound as if you have already given up.

You can go to YouTube and browse by Genre or musical style; Jazz, Classical....or even just by instrument: Woodwind, bowed instruments and then just listen. Takes seconds. There is so much out there. Seek and you shall find.

Instead you choose to live in the past.

    Yes.

The BT client is running on a remote PC with, well what used to be, a high-speed internet connection within a data center. It runs at whatever speed you purchased 100/250/500/1,000 Mbps 7x24/365, subject to any account volume limits.

That doesn't mean that it will keep Seeding the file after it has been downloaded. That's a specific service.

    Nice one

But the question will this also keep seeding the files. If Not then it's of NO use for the OP!

That's covered by me stating that it isn't a specific recommendation; rather that it provides a good explanation of what it offers.

Secondly the OP does not HAVE to utilise Private Trackers in order to access media and therefore there would be no need to keep seeding the files.

If the OP does want to Seed the files, there are Seedboxes that can accommodate that too..

dinosaur here says...ive never heard of them?

Here is an example that gives a good explanation of what is provided: https://filestream.me

You would download the Torrent file, for example: https://releases.ubuntu.com/21.10/ubuntu-21.10-desktop-amd64.iso.torrent or copy the Magnet link and enter that into the online interface. It then processes the Torrent for you in the Cloud. You can turn your device off completely if you want.

You will then be presented with a https 'normal' link to download/stream the media that has been uploaded to the Cloud for you.

That means you can view the content on any device, even though you may have initiated the Torrent processing on a specific mobile phone or PC.
