complete nonsense for buying a simple laptop sending emails and browsing the web ????

    How old are you?

A much higher pixel count translates into more being displayed onto the screen, which can give you more than 5,200 spreadsheet cells in Microsoft Excel and the ability to display four A4 sheets side by side in Microsoft Word.

At least try to not embarrass yourself.

Seems like my trusty Windows 7 is coming to the end of its shelf life - Macrium will no longer update as an example.
Time to bite the bullet, but hopefully this new version will see me through.
Have to purchase a new computer as my present is no longer compatible, coupled with a learning curve not to be sniffed at.

So my question, has anyone purchased (not upgraded) Windows 11 in Thailand.
And if so, where and how much please?

Install Windows 10 Pro to the new device and then upgrade to 11 Pro. Less than 100 baht.

Some reviews were questioning its build quality and poor battery life.

Also the whole eco-friendly angle is BS apparently (although for my sins, this is probably less important to me)

If it suits your needs then no need to justify. Can keep it as useful info for others looking.

I'm very happy with it for 17k. Don't use my laptop for watching anything (TV anyone?). And it will mostly be used for work tasks such as Excel etc. Priorities for me were price, size/weight, ports and durability

What did you not like about the ACER...since it was you who asked about it in the first place?

Out of interest what don't you like about it? Just ordered one but I guess everyone has different priorities ????

Unless it's for your business and there is a three year on-site warranty, cancel.

Just from memory, you are sacrificing, CPU, screen resolution, RAM.

    i3 as opposed to i5

HD as opposed to Full HD

    4GB as opposed to 8GB

256 GB storage as opposed to 512GB

    What were you thinking??!!

Not sure why the Troll is laughing at your post. 1690 baht for 12 months of up to 20 Mbps; 140 baht per month is good. Though if the promo code still works, you can get it for 1500 or so.

Add another 500 baht for unlimited any network calls.

All networks currently offer 20 Mbps for 300 baht. Not sure why it is getting so excited over a one baht saving.

good one, they are all great actually, no point to compare them

just buy the brand you like, and take the screen size you need

the rest is at par, it's a perfect competition industry in the low-mid size price range

    Nonsense.....

I'm looking on Lazada, but their search function is a bit useless. Could you post a link to True's 20mbps unlimited offering? Cheers ????

All networks currently have a 20 Mbps unlimited package for 300 baht per month. AIS & DTAC can be applied via USSD code; Truemove H perhaps by an agent/call centre.

Run a speed test on the basic SIM before applying a pack; if you get 20 Mbps or close then apply the pack. If less than 10 Mbps; try another network.

You may be right, but the process outlined in the tab about using the app doesn't mention installing the SIM. What's needed is the bar code and number. I have seen shop assistants activate my SIM on their phone (November 2019), without installing the SIM. But I was physically present, as you have to blink to have your photo taken.

Even if it worked, there would still be the issue of the SIM never being on a network. Even if you called AIS, they might just give you the USSD code to apply...which you couldn't. The only possibility would be if they agreed to add it from their end and without the SIM being connected to their network.

As I stated earlier, try a vendor on-line and see if they they conduct the registration via videocall without you being present. It all seems a bit unlikely.

If you properly outlined the whys and wherefores, there might have been a different solution.

Either way, I given my advice. Let us know how it went.

If you don't need the SoundBar option, their model EM-3092F looks better with it's 6.5" 'woofer'.

Though seems a bit 'boom box' like. . That just might be the terrible excuse for music they use to test the speakers on YouTube channels. Don't need the LED lighting either

Though I do like the price: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/saag-eclipse-em-3092f-21-49w-1-i2649861673-s9525909834.html

Translation: You thought I didn't know what I was doing, and tried to not say it outright.

It should be easy to figure out if you have the app.

Dtac Call is wonderful that way. Pretty much anything you can do on the phone you can do on the app, but you have to activate the app IN Thailand. I've used that app a lot lately, goosing things along if I'm being ignored. Which can happen even if I forget to dumb down my vocabulary..

It would have been great if AIS made an AIS call app. Unless wifi calling works abroad.

Let us know once you have activated it via the App.

If you thought that you didn't need the SIM in the phone; then yes, you didn't know what you were doing..

You jumped to a conclusion and I had to figure how you could activate the SIM without having physical access to it. The only way I imagined is if a vendor or a friend in Thailand did it for you. But if they did, they could also apply the necessary code. Hence the questions.

Plus if you outlined the whole scenario, there might have been an alternative solution. Since you were resistant to that, I suggested that you communicate with a vendor online to see if they can help you.

yes a byte is 8 bits - is that all that makes up IP traffic

But you insisted that is was less than 20 MB/s. Now instead of simply acknowledging a minor mistake, you compound it with an even stranger statement. It's okay to admit that you made a mistake online. We'll love you for it.
