Sure "selfish" may sound a bit harsh but their decision not to get vaxxed based on some false conspiracy theories affects everyone and prolongs the process of getting life back to normal. It's only because of vaccinated people that we are slowly opening up again – in Europe pretty much back to normal now.

 

Just read in local news (not Thailand) that hospitals now only have non-vaxxed people that are then causing patients with other critical sicknesses to wait for treatment. That could be seen as selfish in my opinion. 

There are all kinds of theories out there. Some plausible and others complete nonsense; but I don't dismiss everyone who has a differing opinion and certainly won't insist that someone has to be vaccinated with what they might regard as an experimental substance.

You might be happy to take it, in order to get back to your normal. But what if your normal isn't their normal?

Vaccinated and then forced back into an office when it isn't necessary. People want quality of life; rather than to be totally controlled throughout their lives. The COVID-19 event has brought this to the fore.

More and more control; all under the guise of a pandemic. 

What are you going to do? Have booster shots every six months for the rest of your life? 

You will look for things that bolster your argument and they will look for things that bolster theirs. You'll both be right to a certain extent. 

The mistake you are making is doing the American 'dumbing down' technique of demonising anyone who doesn't agree with your point of view. 

Your use of the phrase 'anti-vaxxer' as an instance; lumping them all in the same 'flat earth' category. 

People are afraid. Some of the virus and some of the vaccine. That's normal. I won't call them selfish for being afraid.

Getting away so easy? According to the scaremongers they are all going to die. As long as your are vaccinated; you aren't. So why the bitterness?

Rarely drinks ,doesnt smoke ,uses baht buses or walks and goes to the markets for his food never the supermarket.

And he lives much better he tells me than his former department of housing flat in Sydneys Redfern.....and much safer at night !!

 

I guess it depends if you can make something better....his alternative was a drug addicted apartment block in a rough neighbourhood of Sydney where young hoodlums congregrate,so he packed up and left ...i would rather live on the 50k a month in pattaya than some areas of Sydney on a pension 

Nirun wouldn't be my choice if I were on such a budget. I think and I could be wrong, that the guys chose to live there because they saw it as central and cheap. They did not envisage spending much time in their rooms; so opted for cheap accommodation and more fun.

I think the whole 'pandemic' thing brought into view the importance of having decent accommodation; wherein you could actually enjoy spending time within.

That's why I posted the pics of an alternative 4k apartment in a different and frankly nicer, area.

But I think they might feel lonely if they moved away from their known community.

There is a big difference between someone trying to be genuinely helpful and someone acting like a smug know-it-all.

I live in the real world where even fairly intelligent people haven't the slightest idea about digital currencies and what is behind them.

Furthermore there are many who live month to month on their salary and haven't the time nor the inclination to think about gambling. Many people are struggling to survive. Then in comes Mr Smug to tell them that they are all idiots.

With regard to that; the word is juncture; not junction.

You see? Not everyone knows everything; nor are they expected to do so.

That why we have friends, family, community. To pool knowledge, as opposed to rubbing people's faces in it.

So if you have advice that can help someone, try telling it in a way that might actually get them to listen to you. Being a Richard isn't an effective method.

So in a nutshell, life has improved IMO.

What you saw were 4,000 baht rooms in which you would not stay. Always easy to find a cr@ppy room for 4,000 baht.

Find a nicer one; 

instead of writing silly things about 4,000 baht rooms and other people's lifestyles.

A 4,000 baht apartment in a popular tourist city.

Better to live comfortably within your means, than trying to impress anonymous forum members.

Try to not be quite so judgemental. Some people don't need lots of money to be able to feel good about themselves.

At the end of the day, in the West a prostitute shall she choose not to continue doing that job, she will be able to find a decent job, sure enough salary will be pretty low, but enough to somewhat live. 
 

In Thailand on the other hand they will have nothing. And for many of those young girls the pressure of having to send money to heir family at month’s end is enough to pressure them into prostitution. 
 

I presume you are one of those prostitution users here in Thailand, so to ease off pressure from your conscience you fool yourself thinking that life for these girls is wonderful and colorful, and that they choose to do this because they like it or like you…. But that’s just far from the truth and it is a lame excuse to try and justify the human degeneration that many farang show in here.

I think that you made your feelings known. The thread title is "Being scared to talk to other farang" as opposed to "Being scared to talk to other farang who are eighty years old with a teenage girlfriend". Give it a rest now please.
