  1. Oh? https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/oct/17/trump-muslim-ban-gaza-refugees
  2. Yes, I heard that, too. Then Trump can be the savior of squirrels in Pine City, NY in addition to Springfield's dogs and cats. I think he'll need a separate animal control officer's uniform for Pine City, however.
  3. No, I don't own a goat. Muslims eat goats, but I don't think many Haitians are Muslim. But Trump hates Muslims, too, as evidenced by his ban on Muslim travelers. But anyway, Trump was on about dogs and cats.
  4. With a sense of great relief and expectation, as a dog lover, I await the inauguration of Donald J Trump with much hope. I'm sure that as soon as he's sworn in, he'll don his animal control officer uniform and make his way without delay to Springfield, Ohio to rescue all the dogs from the dinner table. After all, this was one of his great campaign issues and his concern was for the animals, wasn't it?
  5. You must have no sense of humor.
  6. Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that the this election is rigged. I now expect him and his team to diligently work to overturn these results.
  7. Yes, they do. The stumbling block for many is the requirement to be employed at or above a certain salary level under the same non-B (or other visa that allows work) for three consecutive years and to pay taxes on the income generated by this employment.
  8. It is interesting to note how Thailand's child protection laws seem to define a minor as one who has not yet attained 18 years of age. https://www.icmec.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/ICMEC-Thailand-National-Legislation-updated.pdf Yet both parents have to sign for a passport until the applicant is 20. If you're still concerned, I don't think it would be too difficult to draft a letter for your spouse to sign. There are templates available on various websites and they could be translated into Thai easily enough. Since in Australia the age of majority is 18, the letter would probably only be of interest to Thai immigration. But I doubt you would have any issues with an 18-year-old in any event.
  9. I was working here when tax clearance certificates were required for exit. This requirement was dropped roughly thirty years ago. I recall that there was pushback from the various foreign chambers of commerce against the tax clearance requirement and given the much larger size of the foreign business community, perhaps this would keep it from being re-activated. Now that government databases are linked up to a greater degree than in the past, there may be easier ways for the RD to prevent tax delinquents from leaving the country without making suitable arrangements.
  10. So far, the DoJ hasn't charged any of the Proud Boys or Oath Keepers of any of the other January 6th rioters with insurrection under Section 2383 of Title 18. Instead, several of the participants have been charged and convicted under Section 2384 of Title 18 for seditious conspiracy. Seditious conspiracy carries a prison sentence of up to 20 years, while insurrection only carries a term of up to ten years plus disqualification from holding Federal office. The events of January 6th 2021 were a seditious conspiracy on the part of at least some of the participants as has been proven by the courts and this is a more serious offense than insurrection as evidenced by the longer potential prison sentence. .
  11. Nothing in the Fox News article supports the headline alleging that the victim was attacked because he was wearing a Trump hat. More propaganda from Rupert Murdoch.
  12. I believe an applicant for a Thai passport needs to be 20 years old before one will be issued without evidence of parental consent. My wife and I both had to sign for our daughter's renewal passport when she was 18. Same daughter traveled to the US by herself at age 17 without parental consent documents without issue. I traveled to the US via Europe with another daughter who was 16 at the time and was never asked for paperwork.
  13. Here's another explanation of "sinistrality": Sinistrality is merely the state of being sinistral. This means, quite simply being left-handed (adj.). Regrettably, left-handedness was once regarded as something evil, of the devil - hence ‘the left hand path’ indicating followers of the black arts or the occult. The word ‘sinister’ (Latin for left) as opposed to ‘dexter’ (right) means threatening or portending evil, harm, or trouble; ominous: a sinister remark. bad, evil, base, or wicked; fell: his sinisterpurposes. unfortunate; disastrous; unfavourable: a sinister accident. What, then, is April saying about its policyholders in Thailand?
  14. It is for stateless people and ethnic minorities (think hill tribes) who live in Thailand but aren't considered Thai citizens. https://washingtondc.thaiembassy.org/en/content/thailand-extends-health-coverage-to-non-citizens
  15. Captive insurance companies are typically set up to pool the risks of a large corporate's own subsidiaries. It is the element of exclusively insuring the risks of the parent company that makes an insurer a captive. Captive insurance companies are almost exclusively used as reinsurers, not direct insurers, due to licensing and regulatory issues. I would not consider WRLife as a captive insurer within the industry's use of the term.
  16. A message from the TF Foundation.
  17. There may be other reason why Trump doesn't read briefings: https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-mental-health-michael-wolff-learning-disabilities-dementia-adhd-read-semi-literate-fire-and-fury-latest-a8146176.html
  18. i don't think Trump would be like Hitler. Trump isn't a vegetarian and doesn't speak German.
  19. Not reading things seems to be a MAGA thing that even extends to Trump. Couldn't be anything important, or anything Trump would understand, in intel briefings, now could there? https://www.usnews.com/opinion/thomas-jefferson-street/articles/2018-02-09/why-it-matters-that-trump-doesnt-read-his-daily-intelligence-briefings
  20. Sure has been reported widely. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/09/19/politics/trump-jewish-voters-antisemitism-event/index.html This thread isn't about college protests.
  21. Taiwan: https://www.cfr.org/blog/taiwans-trump-conundrum Ukraine: https://thehill.com/opinion/international/4884798-the-trump-vance-plan-for-ukraine-is-insane/
  22. I suppose that could be consistent with his plans to abandon Ukraine to Putin, leave NATO and hand Taiwan to Xi.
  23. Or "Hitler was a Socialist". Probably won't have to wait.
  24. It isn't just The Atlantic and it isn't just Kelly. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/john-kelly-swinging-trump/story?id=115061457
  25. So you agreee that Trump will instigate a Pogrom. He's already said that the Jews would be to blame if he lost. Will he follow Hitler and round up the Jews in the Great Pogrom you have confirmed?
