  1. I changed to Coloplast several years ago for urine as found Convatec seal to be ineffective. But for supply both Lazada and Shopee have sellers and any pharmacy can order for you.
  2. First order using new Lotus's website received few minutes ago. Outside scheduled time period by only 10 minutes and 90% (by cost) delivered. As often an hour to two late previously and almost never more than about 75% delivery believe it may indeed be an improvement. There is a good order status page on website which provides up to the minute status (delivered 15 minutes after out for delivery SMS and website update). Using order history may work to make re-order of items as it provides original invoice if you ask for more details and clicking on photo of item in that invoice seems to bring it up specific item and able to add to cart.
  3. No none at all - it makes a small noise on med speed that miss if turned off at night but not enough to be an issue and during daytime can not even hear it. Same was case for old model that had many years. Much less noise than most quiet AC units.
  4. I have the been using Hatari AP-12 model for a few years now and no issues at all with it - runs 24 hours a day and change filter every 6 months (which is easy to find unlike most others). Previously was using earlier model Hatari and never had issues with that (until filters became unavailable). Echo other comments do not buy store display units unless you are convinced filters will be available - although with Lazada/Shopee this has become less of an issue there are still a lot of products sold here with no support/spares available.
  5. This point of your thesis is a bit off - you do not need money on deposit - many have access to retirement with minimal or no deposits (having served there for one). But most staying long term just use tourist visa extensions as that only requires one day every three years outside of PI. Those getting married have full access for stay. Nobody will argue food is great but it is not that bad either. Much more access to fast food than Thailand (at lower prices) and pork is always good. If able to pay supermarket prices most US food products are easily available. And Thai restaurants are available. Do not want to make this longer - suffice to say do not fully agree with a lot of the cons - but do agree they are factors - just not as serious as indicated for those minding their business. Do appreciate the information.
  6. Philippines has long stay options and even a tourist visa can be extended for 3 years before you have to leave for a day. Cambodia has ER visa - much like Thailand retirement. Vietnam has up to 6 month stay on 5 year tourist visa before exit/return required.
  7. Perhaps because somebody had cared enough to actually try and provide an acceptable alternative - in most cases it was a best alternative and accepted but if not often sent back.
  8. Will add wife just given this medication as alternative to statins (tried several) which caused side effects - so far this medication seems to be OK (and wife is very sensitive to many medications). So may be an alternative for those that can not take statins. Price was 35 baht per pill at major hospital for Ezetimibe Sandoz 10mg.
  9. I was able to do without but tried vaccine number one time which was rejected - but indeed it was not a straight road - believe had to reload without number and was in. Believe the number is for "Shop Coins" or some such but not clear. One possible positive is better stock control with selection of specific stores. Did note item out of stock in one store but available in another. Over the years my Tesco orders were normally only 60-70 percent filled - in past years they often sent alternatives you felt obligated to buy but for last year or so they just called to say half your order was not available. At any rate it is a new learning experience - but having been doing that for 80 years it is starting to be more about forgetting than learning.
  10. Perhaps because you used wife ID number - believe that ID request was for a financial point system of some kind and not required if you do not want to use it. I had no issue using US based credit card (Thai address) and received immediate refund when order later canceled (freezer failed so did not want a lot of new frozen stuff).
  11. Would be nice if they updated website rather than Facebook it. Perhaps next week. Below graph seems to sum it up and really should be on website. https://twitter.com/RichardBarrow/status/1512051173846839297/photo/1
  12. Wise can "tag" the Bangkok Bank account number and that appears to be almost 100% effective to get FTT. Using long term stay by itself is normally effective but there have been infrequent issues with it failing. You can have one Bangkok Bank account "tagged" and another not - so normal transfers to that untagged account can be seconds.
  13. Nobody is having problems that I know of - we get sending in a way to obtain FTT code on passbooks which other banks do not offer. In order to provide that service the required money must be in the Wise Bangkok Bank account so at times this can be an issue if more transactions take place on a day than expected and it is timed for deposit at a set time each day. People do have issues and problems, with all banks and transfer services, but in general is seems to be working fine for the vast majority of users, or they would not be a leading transfer service for long.
  14. If output jack for headphone working perhaps cost effective to just buy ear buds and wireless if not blue tooth available. In most cases will be much better audio.
  15. But different areas seem to have from reports here on forum - open service at one or more locations most places (but if not reported here may take some checking to find location). Surat Thani is one of the provinces that they were first to be made available from Jan 22 press report.
  16. Are you Thai? Few, if any Thai would ever take that path to elders in my experience
  17. They are being provided - if in Bangkok all 3 of the cellphone providers have system to make reservations on internet (which works without a Thai ID card). But you may have to take action to obtain rather than wait for any notification.
  18. And the NT envelopes do not stand out - looks like advertising so easy to miss.
  19. The big concern are termites and they are often controlled by liquid spray into underground pipes to kill before come into home - but if already in home that will have to be taken care of also. Believe it is normally hunt and spray rather than the tenting using is other countries. This is a professional operation - not DIY. Our bug killer ceased operations and became a monk due to regrets for killing the critters. The fact you have pipes indicates a previous problem.
  20. I have yellow (using dark mode on browser) 'clear notifications' at right bottom of notification popup and any click that area removes all notifications immediately (no fail safe). Actually probably a good idea to clear every week or so (know can be handy to find old threads at times however). Have no idea if mods can restore but kind of doubt it.
  21. Other than perhaps in CMAI private clinics are very much a mixed bag as many appear to be pill sellers - very important to know the doctor, as in hospital and use a clinic that you know. Most quality doctors in Thailand work at hospitals, not clinics, as hospitals are open to all and have facilities for testing onsite. That said there is a place for clinics as after hours treatment from good government hospitals doctors many places. But these are normally not open full time.
  22. You do have to ask however - request detail receipt - or you just get a cash payment receipt with basic category totals.
  23. Some hospitals greatly overcharge for medications and general rule is buy elsewhere unless have insurance paying or one of the few medications only hospital can provide. But hospitals do not make the decisions on what to provide - that is a doctor - and most doctors work at hospitals - not for hospitals. Doctor selection is key - and if you feel not right fit you can easily change - even in the same hospital.
