Thaksin: Former Thai PM's prison sentence reduced to a year
mark131v replied to Social Media's topic in Thailand News
Is anybody at all surprised? After the election theatre this is just another slap in the face for the Thai people and the rule of law This bit from the OP is key: 'In response to his request for a royal pardon, the royal gazette on Friday noted his age and "illness". It added that Mr Thaksin "has done good for the country and people and is loyal to the monarchy" aka 'I promise not to rock the boat in any way and shape and I am happy to stab my supporters in the back if you will let me back to the trough please sir' Absolutely vomit worthy, absolutely dishonest, absolute betrayal, absolutely expected...- 216 replies

Thai Airways takes off in new direction with operational shake-up
mark131v replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Just flown with Thai to Manchester return and will not be doing so again, reason I did this time is because they where cheapest, guess it's true, you get what you pay for! They used to be my go to airline in the early days as they flew direct but I wouldn't use even for a direct flight Why? dirty aircraft seat back and table had old food stains on it, cramped and dated, poor in flight entertainment system, uncomfortable seats with no leg room and crap food and service I may have been spoiled by using Emirates and Qatar lately but won't be using Thai again....- 54 replies

His break with the party came just a day before Parliament voted to elect Pheu Thai’s Srettha Thavisin as Thailand’s next prime minister. Nattawut explained he was quitting because he had promised party supporters before the election that Pheu Thai would not work with Palang Pracharath or United Thai Nation parties. Gobsmacked, that mean's there are 2 politicians in Thailand who will stand by their principles and do the right thing, if only there was a few more....

Maybe they should get some of these in the corrections service eh! Traditional long established medical interventions didn't appear to help much with Thaksin's prison stay so maybe some fluffy AI bot to whisper him sweet nothings might have made him feel better You can get a simple ecg in prison you can do a simple blood test to rule out many things in prison, you can give a simple sleeping pill for somebody with insomnia, antidepressants for mental health and other simple medication to lower blood pressure What you don't normally need to do is get a helicopter to fly you to a luxury hospital wing at 3 in the morning for any of this In summary simple paramedicine primary and emergency care and routine medical interventions don't appear to work for some in Thailand so maybe the AI bot would but you know what I really don't think many are that gullible...

Phichit is last minute addition to Srettha’s cabinet
mark131v replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Birds of a feather flock together! Fully aware there are many politically motivated charges in Thai politics but it appears Thai hi-so's of all colours are top draw with regard to believing they are above the law The corruption, the nepotism, the sheer arrogance is appalling, the fact they can have an international drug smuggler as a top tier politico is absolutely mind bending This fellow is in good company and doubtless will learn some new tricks on raping the country and the populace.... -
The days of military coups in Thailand are gone : Sutin

Opinion: Promised Change Gives Way to Familiar Faces
mark131v replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Now there's a surprise! Robbing, corrupt, morally lacking, all aptly describe the Thai establishment and their leadership They are a laughing stock and a disgrace but until the Thai population grow a pair it's exactly what they deserve.... -
This! When they realise that the establishment is not going to move away from the trough they may, may grow a pair but I am not holding my breath The whole charade of the election, the whole sorry Thaksin saga just illustrates the contemp the hi-so's have for the serf's, the fact they just accept it emphasizes the brain washing way the poor are indoctrinated from their early years I am finding it difficult to accept the level of apathy in the people and beginning to believe that you get the government that you deserve.....

Justice Ministry Accused Of Granting Undue Privileges To Thaksin
mark131v replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I completely agree... However this charade insults mine, scrap that anyone with even an ounce of common sense's intelligence I care nothing one way or the other for Thaksin he is just another hi-so raping the poor but then again he is probably amongst the best of a bad bunch and certainly more qualified than the last creatures For all the idiots swallowing this stinking pile of lies please give your collective heads a good wobble, what's happening is blatant corruption and hypocrisy laid bare for all to see, what's worse is they know that and just don't care The complete and utter lack of respect, the way they are insulting the intelligence of a whole nation is shameful and disturbing....... -
