The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is pleased to announce that Chiang Mai will be the next city in Thailand to get its very own official Monopoly board game, the Monopoly: Chiang Mai Edition, following the success of the Monopoly: Phuket Edition that was launched in March of this year. Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, said “We very much look forward to launching the Monopoly: Chiang Mai Edition, as the second game in the Thailand series and which is coming at a time when international travel is returning to Thailand. The PTL-UTMB is one of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) events and is regarded as one of the toughest trail races in the world. The course covers a distance of 302km spanning the Alpine region of France, Switzerland and Italy and includes 27,649 metres of ascent. This year’s race began on August 22nd in Chamonix, France with 101 teams participating. 53 teams did not make it to the finish line within the time limit. Noppawan Huajaiman was commenting on the monitoring of stories in the news for the period August 19th to 25th. One fake news report spoke of nine storms all coming at the same time that would inundate Bangkok with flooding while another spoke of three storms coming all together, reported Siam Rath. She advised the public to get their weather news from the Meteorological Department on their website or by calling 1182 or 02 399 4547, available 24/7. ASEAN NOW went to the website and discovered for Bangkok from today to September 4th residents could expect temperatures from 25-35C with rain storms daily covering 40-80% of the capital. Noppawan said that in the past week fake news about storms made up 10% of the total number of cases that were investigated. 166 cases were investigated and 14 were about storms. In the period under review fake news about Covid was down to single figures, she said. The media said in their headline that a husband had attacked his wife who stabbed him to death. Pol Capt Chai Phonsri of the Phrapradaeng police went to three story business premises in Bang Khru where they found Sitthikorn, 26, face up with a stab wound to the left side of his chest by the entrance on the ground floor. She said that it was a family dispute and that the victim was her new husband. She has a nine year old daughter. She said they had been arguing and she said he should leave so she could calm down but he followed her upstairs where she grabbed the two knives, one in each hand to protect herself from her much bigger and stronger partner. The struggle continued through the house and at one point he grabbed a blanket and she struck out with the knives. She said she didn't mean to kill him, a knife got him in an artery and he died subsequently. She called an ambulance and her younger sister. She was taken away for questioning and prosecution. Picture: Sanook Ban Khai police in Rayong, on Thailand's eastern seaboard, were called after two ladies in a blue car were dragged 20 meters along Route 3574 - the Ban Khai to Ban Bung Road - by a truck trailer. Ruam Katanyu rescue services at the scene found the car with damage to its left side and a build up of debris from the road surface by its wheels. Rescuers were unable to open the passenger side and had to get the ladies out from the driver's side. They were thankfully unharmed though both thought they were going to die. Uthai, 38, who was driving told Sanook that she was motoring along normally in the right lane when the truck went into her and dragged her. The trucker Khomsan, 45, said he was delivering a load from Muang Rayon to the Laem Chabang port. It was raining heavily and he couldn't see very well. He braked as soon as he collided with the car but due to the weight of his vehicle it was 20 meters before he came to a halt. Somchai Khumsri can be found operating his modest service from the back of a pick-up truck on the Thepparat Road KM marker 19 inbound to Bangkok. He'll also check your old blades for you for nothing and if you need new ones they go for just 50 baht up to a hundred or so. Somchai said he found a niche in the market when having his own wiper blades changed and learned about the business bit by bit. Then he invested in stock. Now when he finishes his shift he uses his free time - of which he has plenty - to run the service that gets him 400-500 baht a day. He spends the money on things like gas, food and sweets for his children. She was off to pick up a friend. The driver of the Nissan Navaro said he saw her on the phone coming towards him. He braked coming to a halt but she rode into his lane on the two lane road and collided head on, reported Daily News. Pol Capt Chawanai Marasri and rescue services had rushed to the Udon Thani to Nong Saeng Ban Lupwai Road in Muang district of Udon Thani. The pick-up had severe damage to the front and the young lady's red Honda Wave was nearby on the ground. The driver said he was delivering jelly to Nong Saeng when he saw the teen on the phone coming towards him. A public health volunteer said this showed the danger of looking at phones while on motorcycles. Such behavior breaks concentration, they said.
