She was off to pick up a friend. The driver of the Nissan Navaro said he saw her on the phone coming towards him. He braked coming to a halt but she rode into his lane on the two lane road and collided head on, reported Daily News. Pol Capt Chawanai Marasri and rescue services had rushed to the Udon Thani to Nong Saeng Ban Lupwai Road in Muang district of Udon Thani. The pick-up had severe damage to the front and the young lady's red Honda Wave was nearby on the ground. The driver said he was delivering jelly to Nong Saeng when he saw the teen on the phone coming towards him. A public health volunteer said this showed the danger of looking at phones while on motorcycles. Such behavior breaks concentration, they said. The children's real names are Jaroonphan Rumphoyen or Pin and Jaroonrot Rumphoyen or Pan. They are 13 years and 7 months. They are able to walk, stand and ride a tricycle. Like most teenagers their age they love sweets and just can't stop eating. They rely on no one, they can look after themselves and have been doing so for years. Their gran Noknoi said that the kids were taught to stand and walk at a Bangkok hospital which has made them much more independent. They are able to make their meals, walk to get supplies and are a burden on no one. They are in primary grade 5 at Wat Santitham School in Muang district and have good grades and get on well with friends. There is plenty of help for them from several quarters. They have just spent five days seeing doctors in Bangkok, a yearly exercise. Their gran said they had just busted their third tricycle - there are problems with the trikes taking their weight. But they were due to get a new one. They said briefly that they get on well with friends and want to be Thai language and science teachers. Both the twins are females born in January 2009. They have two heads, two torsos, four arms and two legs. They are joined from the hips down. Each twin can control one leg but when walking or cycling they have had to master cooperation to achieve motion. Government Deputy Spokesperson Traisuree Taisaranakul urged people to see a doctor immediately if they experience a high fever for more than two days, and especially if they develop a persistent headache, muscle pain and tiny red spots on their body and limbs. She also recommended eradicating mosquito breeding grounds and covering water containers to keep the insects from laying eggs in them. According to reports from the Department of Disease Control (DDC), over 16,000 people have contracted dengue fever since the beginning of this year, 14 of whom succumbed to the disease. The deputy spokesperson added that officials are also concerned about an outbreak of hand-foot-and-mouth disease among young children, which could intensify during the rainy season. This disease causes fever, fatigue, red blisters on the tongue and gums, and clear blisters on the hands and feet of patients. She advised parents and teachers to closely monitor their children’s health and to seek medical attention as soon as they notice any of these symptoms.
