'Wine's got so expensive, I've had to switch to vodka'.
Since 2016 I have been buying over a 100 bottles a year, from Wine Connection mainly, and haven't seen any significant increase in price. I seems that the tax hike has been somehow absorbed by the seller.
This, of course, isn't the case for fruit wine. But we were talking about wine, weren't we, "Cheap Charlies"?

Where pray tell did you get a 4.1% cola? That is, if true.... excellent. Mine was only 1.6% but all is well. I am living the life, thank-you very much.
UN New York COLA 2018 & 2019. 2018 was below 2% (1.7) so we get it only this year combined.

As it was in France 80 years ago... With a difference though, that the French were reporting the French to foreigners...

Just got a 4.1% COLA (Cost Of Living Adjustment), that's about 10000 THB monthly, so this thread is totally pointless.
And, looking at the shape of the Farangs in the OP's pic, I'd reckon that these guys are better off than me.

I am for Equality, period. So I'd love to see less discrimination and derogatory attitudes against elderly gentlemen. Whether they enjoy the company of younger ladies or not.

The "company" that removed them should be charged under the cruelty to animals law. That'll show them.
Yeah the were too lazy to finish the job and put them down.

Acute HIV infection has Flu like symptoms, hence similar to COVID 19, so nothing to worry about.

But some government wiz kid at the TAT just said the figures were up for January !
This shows that the hotel occupancy rate was down about 5%, there is worse to come of course. If the crisis lasts until the early northern summer as many expect (even though it could be worse) we may well see numbers down by a lot more than the current speculations. Wouldn't even call it speculation as the current government doesn't communicate, they just make noise.

Just read what Anutin had to say about that. I'll call him Dory from now on.

He did a lot more than just say "no" to the ladyboy's advances. He might have deserved it.
Many homophobic males can become extremely offensive and abusive when approached by shemales.
I don't consider myself as homophobic, but I find it unacceptable to get sexual advances from an other man. If a LB keeps pressing after my first polite, good humoured, refusal I feel entitled to get more abrupt. I understand the risk and hence move away from Nana.

That's a bit like the Soi 6 girls taking a shower to protect themselves from HIV.

Yeah, a bit quiet right now. I hope Immigration will raise the financial requirements soon to get a more lively atmosphere.

* Play by the rules - get penalized, put under a microscope, and harassed.
* Pay and agent to bypass the laws - get rewarded with an easy, hassle-free renewal. One point is missing here: one could "play by the rules" AND "pay an agent" to avoid to get "harassed". I'd do that, but I can't as there are no agents where I live. And my wife does all the talking anyway.

Drink Wine, and beer only when you feel hot and dry. Otherwise only eat cute little cats. Yeah, I know I am somewhat off topic, but never discard good advice.

Which VPN do you use?
I use PureVPN & BBC detects I'm not in the UK if I try to access it on my Win10 machine, but doesn't if I use it on my Chromebook (In both cases I'm using Chrome to access the IPlayer site).
Have you tried to clear all your browsing data in Chrome ? I have found out that if I go to Eurosport Player without VPN they leave a cookie(?) storing your actual location. They all have different policies, at the other end of the spectrum the Swiss channel I use for F1 verifies location only when you initiate a stream.

Hypocrites are the worst people and the Thai fake government is full of them.
Thais are not trained to develop structured, coherent and consistent thinking. So people in this government just make noise with their mouths.

How dumb can a minister be? In the meantime in Geneva they have canceled the Motor Show, which is one of the main events of the year. While there are zero cases in Switzerland, but quite an explosion in neighbouring Italy and France.

I would be interesting to know how many Chinese are currently in Thailand there are a few in the villa next to me who came for Chinese New Year I am assuming that due to the virus they cannot get a flight home.
Understanding? Dunno, but we could chose between:
a) Authorities are lying, deliberately, to protect the economy,
b) There is a large proportion of asymptomatic carriers in Thailand,
c) The Thais are ineffective in identifying and tracing the cases.
If you asked me I'd say that all a, b, and c are true.

I trust that Mr. Silpsarnvitch means 'the sudden dearth of foreign tourists'. Otherwise we may have cause for alarm! ????
Yet you couldn't deny that there is something like a tourist sudden death syndrome in Thailand, could you?

It noted that the Bank of Thailand is formulating measures to control household debt, such as setting a debt service ratio to gear loan amounts to the applicant’s earnings, urging financial institutes to adopt more responsible loan criteria, and promoting financial literacy to help the public budget more wisely.
I admire the unbelievably advanced thinking. Obvious candidates for a Nobel prize of economics.
