What an authentic description of life in Thailand!
I guess, millions of foreigners are coming to here to live "a dog's life".
I am sure, you did your in-depth research on Thai life and got out of the country pretty fast, never to sight it again?

If they are not hiding them, then they are clearly not testing many people. About 1,500 tests since the beginning of January. The <deleted> will hit the fan very soon.

Thailand is expected to be the most at risk country outside China. But you can't report cases if you don't test enough people. Simple.Great piece of work, thanks. But I've never had any doubts about the Thai forthcoming reality as there were still hordes of Chinese tourists flooding in, while the outbreak in Wu Han had been a know fact for weeks.

Actually, there is some historical truth to his assumptions. Google it. However, what happens above the equator may not necessarily happen below the equator.
Yes, but this bright Minister is unaware of the fact that the weather is NEVER cold in Thailand.

Some truth here.. But.. it reads like a "Schadenfreude thread"

I found this website invaluable when I had a house built here
14k to 17k is about right, but this can easily double (or more) once you have settled in with western style standards. Getting clean water that didn't destroy my appliances set me back hundred's of thousands, I am still thinking about a backup generator, getting and keeping green surroundings, etc, etc. Anyway look at a nice condo in Penang before you move to rural xenophobia.

I always keep my boarding pass until I get my checked in luggage back. When you have to make a claim for lost luggage this is the first thing you are asked for. Happened to me half a dozen of times, and I am not what one would call a "frequent traveller".

Australia has had a similar points system for years. Works well.
Australia's immigration policy, is the the model every country in the world should follow: an intelligent balance between humanitarian duties and economic interests.

The government will pay Bt3 million to the relatives of each of the police officers and other military personnel who died in the tragedy.
i.e Army and Police personnel are worth three times "normal" civilians.

These "recreational facilities" include Nataree, The Lord and some others?

Maybe the smart beamer has corona virus sensors on it's roof?
Most certainly, this enligtened government's power of anticipation should now be obvious to most of us. They forced us to buy a health insurance because they saw COVID-19 coming and we should thank them for being well protected and safe.

I would see 250k as a real bargain for anyone who loves his kid and wants to take care of her himself. I'd try to bargain down a bit, but not to the extent where I'd run the risk to lose a golden opportunity.

I like the association of Chinese and Indians in the context of this epidemic. They want make Thailand a "The hub" of the coronavirus spread. Think a minute: 40 Million tourists a year of which a significant share comes from China mixing in a country governed by obnoxiously incompetent bunch. What an amazing potential; it is time for all foreign embassies to declare Thailand to be a "no go" zone.

For my enlightenment could some of the people here come up with a detail of the things to be so proud of? Other than overcoming some outlandish bureaucracy, of course.

I doubt there are many Thai citizens voting in this survey.
Funny that, the OP never restricted the overstay to Thailand. And yes I am a citizen of three countries. But it seems that some people here seem to believe that any westerner is entitled to stay in Thailand, whether they have the required credentials wouldn't matter. Probably due to some deeply entrenched superiority complex.

For me overstaying is a misdemeanor, just as petty theft is, so I guess I'd report it but only if I had reason that it was a deliberate abuse of the Immigration system. As citizens we have duty to contribute to law enforcement wherever we can.

They "have", and they may well have "a very big relationship problem" with themselves.

Strange the haven't arrested the Minister for health, after his tirade on the dirty Farangs.
-
Normal they worried about farangs, since the current epidemic found its origin in a bat to human transmission, another future outbreak, in Thailand, may result from a farang to human transmission.
Normal farangs

I thought I was a bit small, but my wife says I am just, a delightful bit, above the Thai size.
