  1. I got a 2 month extension on a 30 day entry stamp in December and it's nearly finished, will I be able to get another 2 month extension, I live here and am married and have a little boy, I work away and am here now because the job was postponed, I normally get a Non 'O' but wasn't aware the goal posts had changed in the summer so I'll sort that out when I'm back in the UK in the meantime another 2 month extension would solve the problem, not sure if I can get it.

    Anyone??

    Thanks

  2. Through Kasikorn bank we're making headway on doing this but now they are asking for me to get a stamp from my government, I don't understand what they mean and they guy can't explain it to the wife, I've asked him to get me a copy of someone else's so I can see, I assume it's something from the UK Embassy - anyone else know what this is, just to recap, we want to borrow some money against our house and I will obviously pay the monthlies.

    Thanks

  3. Thanks for all the replies, even the stupid ones, basically the red mark is whats left of the bite, it starts off quite prominent then goes down over a few days and then after a week or so there is a little red mark, he hasn't been bitten whilst in out house as we have mosquito doors etc and i'm quite prone to the buggers as well so we're quite cautious but we've recently been in the village for the Buddhist blessing ceremony of the little one and although we were very proactive with repellent, nets, fane etc he still copped a few on his face and again there is the last remnants of it - a little red dot.

  5. Interesting question, but irrelevant, I'm afraid, as, unless the spouse is a resident of one of the Schengen Nations, they have to hold a visa (a 90 day tourist visa or a 90 day spouse visa at the least) whether accompanied or not )

And yes I remover reading that in some cases a spouse had been allowed to cross the border but sincerely, it's hearsay and I have never met anyone with this profile

Thats the reason I asked as a friend of mine in the UK - married and his wife only on a 6 month family visit visa went to Holland via the ferry to France from Dover went through without any problems, they took the wedding certificate - both original and translated and she was admitted without issue.

    It does happen.

  6. I recently did it for our son, he was born in Thailand, I'm British - 37 years old, the wife is Thai, I went to The British Embassy in Bangers with the relevant passport photos of little Ellis, my A4 size original birth certificate and the money, I got a mate to complete the writing on the back of the photo and he also had to fill out his address details on the application form, we hadn't done that and I was made to call him from The Embassy to get those details, we paid a few baht more to get the application sent to our house in Pattaya, it turned up about a month later. We registered the birth at a later date - we should have done it at the time, you don't need to do this but I wanted a UK style birth certificate for him, you have to pay for that as well, it's not a requirement to get the passport though.

    Hope that helps.

  7. Try Laylas out by the Lake, they have a nice pool and BBQ area, with rooms as well if people want to stay over. I am sure Phil would be accommodating to a private party and the setting is great overlooking the lake.

was thinking of writing the same until I saw someone already had.

    Nice place.

  8. We were down Jomtien last week outside The Jomtien Boathouse on the beach and there were 3 young Russian guys who who scammed, normal procedure as soon as they came back to the beach on the jet skis there were 3 Thai guys looking at the jet-ski and shaking their heads etc, I heard a couple sitting behind us ask each other 'how much do you think this time?' so it was obviously an ongoing thing, the white guys ended upi handing over a few thousands. I thought it was only Patts beach, obviously not.
