We got an email from VFS the day after the one from the Embassy saying the papers were ready to be picked up, went and got them the next day.
That was last week, or this week depending on how you count Saturday.
That makes sense, the Mrs will head to Bangers for 10am on Monday, we're assuming it'll get to the VFS sometime on Monday and then we'll then fly Monday night.
Thanks all.

Thanks again chaps, we've no need to worry about the visa being granted or not, this will be Mrs E's 5th UK visa, we've gone for a 5 year visit visa this time, the last visa she had was a 2 year visit visa, I asked the question as we were a bit pushed for time, we didn't (foolishly) pay the extra 3000 baht for the priority service so we haven't got it back in time but thats my own fault, all the other visas the wife has had (including 3 Schengen visas) all came back with in a week but the one time when I was hoping to get it back within the week......it doesn't.
I'm assuming that as we got the e-mail early Friday it should be ready for collection Monday!!

Just had the 'a decision has been made' e-mail from the UK Embassy - collect after 2 working days, is this always the case, has anyone ever been able to collect the passport from VFS the day after this e-mail, I was hoping the wife could collect it tomorrow from Bangers and we fly tomorrow night and not have to wait until Monday?
Thanks

Call Khun Sam. 0814923165. He does my pool (near Lake Maprachan, off SSCC) and those of a few other TV members on the Darkside. He does pool maintenance, but he also can do most repairs or, if he cannot, he will surely know someone that can. He is good, very reliable, and his prices are reaonable -- much cheaper and as good if not better than the companies offering pool maintenance services. And he is a very nice guy.
Sam Sam the pool man, we use him as well.
Best we've had so far.

The Leo Blues Bar in Naklua have jam nights.

Courtyard is also a lovely roast, lovely setting sitting outside, you get a salad or soup, the roast and fruit after, can't remember the price, Beef, Lamb, Pork & Chicken.

I believe the owners are the same but they had to downsize due to overheads and staff problems etc, it's a damn shame as their roasts were lovely.
The Chill Bar in Soi Neun Plueb Wan (spelling) does a mean roast, it seems alot of the Nana regulars (who used to be Chill Bar regulars before) are creeping back to The Chill Bar, advisable to book.

The wrapping machine at the airport - I forgot about that, door 5 you say, jolly good.
We're flying BA, I was told that the buggy would be with the suitcases at the carousel in Heathrow, we'll take a baby carrier strappy over the shoulder thingy just in case.
Thanks for that Forethat!!

Earlier on today I completed wifey's visa application and proceeded on to make the appointment but there weren't any dates for June yet, I called the helpline number and the lady said the dates go online weekly.
Had a little moment there.

Had any luck there? It's 4th June and still no dates for June... I think I might be having one of those 'moments' you mention
The dates showed up a week in advance, I was able to book the wifes appointment for the 3rd June the week before, all done and submitted now.
Thanks

We're flying back to the UK later in the month, this will be the little fellas first time on a plane - he'll be just over 4 months, the ticket says we can take a push-chair and a car seat, I know that you can take them both to the airport door but they then get taken off you and put in with the checked luggage, I think we'll take the push-chair as far as we can go but will check the car seat in with the suitcases, has anyone done this before, whats the best option to cover the car seat - plastic bags, cellophane etc, I don't want to check it as it is as it may come and dirty the other end!!
Thanks

I hope that people submitting applications using the priority service are experiencing long delays!!
