  1. Congratulations! I wish you the very best. It sounds as if you did all the right things a have a way better chance than most people that I have met. I too was introduced to my wife. We have been married for almost 20 years now. I too have retired and moved all my possessions here.

I hope some time we can meet. At any rate have a happy life.

Oh! At my wedding party I arranged to leave the party early with my new wife and take a honeymoon. We left the party going in full swing. That was one of the smarter things I have done as I am sure the party lasted as long as the free food, whiskey and beer lasted.

  2. RENT FIRST!

Thailand is a wonderful and diverse country there is far more to it than just Patteya……

You would be well advised to first rent and have a look around. As mentioned before, once you buy you could find it VERY hard to sell.

  3. We made the move here from California in 2002. We loaded a container and had it shipped to our home here in Thailand direct to our front door. The cost then was about $5000 but we brought absolutely everything. We used a shipping company that specializes in Thailand (Rama Shipping). My only regret was that I should have bought even more stuff to ship.

We made a shipping invintory list of all shipped items put into the container. My wife's things included even "her shop tools"

  4. Here in Thailand people tend to empty all their garbage into a bowl outside for the dogs and chickens. I have found that this practice will draw flies and bugs.

5 years ago I installed a waste disposer. I have a stainless sink with 2 bowls. The larger one has the waste disposer mounted directly under the drain. I am using the TEKA model #TR050-1 and it is made by Insinkerator the U.S. Company. It is .5 horsepower and I bought it at Home Pro at Rangsit. I can’t now remember just how much I paid but it was not a lot. As I have said it has now been 5 years and NEVER a problem. All mounting hardware and hoses came with the disposer.

I take care of about 25 cats and kittens at the Wat near me. Everyday I take 4 large scoops of Whiskas dry cat food and a ½ can of Whiskas.

People who don’t want cats or kittens know that if they go and leave them at the Wat the monks will take care of them.

I go every single day at 3 P.M. and I have a whole pack of cats come racing to great me everyday just as soon a one of them spots me coming. If my wife would let me I would adopt many of them.

  6. You have just discribed my exact set up for my sound. I too have the y split and also run a cable into my next room for sound with the TV and also have some drop out ,which means I have to increase the gain at my TV amp. I have wondered about using a bluetooth for the remote sound. Let me know if you solve the problem.
