  1. Advocate is the best & easiest treatment for cats - a liquid you apply on skin at back of neck once a month.

Works well - but some cats do not like the ‘feel’ of the product.  One of my cats always moved out of home for a day or 2 after I treated him!  Eventually hunger would get the better of him!

  2. Unlikely to be fake. Just reduced mark up by Lazada sellers.

Bravecto is good product - but I recommend Nexgard .  This must be given monthly rather than quarterly to your dog, but it simply means you are putting less active ingredient into your mate every time you treat him/her. Nexgard spectra (if available in Thailand) has the added benefit of treating for intestinal parasites (& heartworm) as well.

My entry into LOS with Thai Nationals...

Do you know that per the Thai Embassy in the USA that the Thai folks need NOT test before departure, like the rest of us did (within 72 hrs)?

I asked the Airline about this and their inane response was "Well they are Thai returning home so we give them a break"...

As has been said before , Thailand cannot refuse their Thai nationals from returning home - Covid negative or positive - so no point in testing , but they still go through 14 days quarantine like anyone else.

Refusing entry of non-nationals who are Covid positive makes sense because it reduces the risk of introducing more infection into the country, and reduces exposure to other travellers, quarantine staff & other healthcare workers.

    Makes sense to me.

  4. When I first applied for TE Visa, it was intimated that it was a sure fire means of entry.  This gung-ho attitude was somewhat diluted after my Visa approval, but I was only made aware of the MFA position after I received my Visa.

There was a fair bit of bad press regards TE Visa last month - so that seemed to get the ball rolling a bit more.

    Good luck!

  5. To give them credit, Thai elite did organise the “appointment” with the Embassy. I requested this on Sept 1, and the appt was on Sept 25 - it seemed an interminable wait. I posted my PP to Embassy, and they received it on Sept 21, and the visa was affixed on Sept 22 - go figure!   It was back in my hands on Sept 28.

After this my only holdup was getting MFA approval , which once again was organised by TE. They are at the mercy of the MFA, but I felt they were working for me.  I spoke ’regularly’ to TE, and most of their workers were helpful .

  6. If I was in your situation , I would contact the Embassy direct in LA , and ask them if they would affix Visa there.

If they will not - it is a no go.  No CoE , & you definitely cannot go until Visa is in passport.

In ‘normal’ times the Visa is affixed at Suvarnabhumi when you arrive - with a Tourist Visa, or Visa exempt.

The situation is ludicrous,  if you want to spend a few hours bitching about bureaucracy and red tape - I am your man!

  7. I am living proof that the Thai Elite Visa does work - currently in Day 4 of ASQ.

There were issues between Thai Elite management and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but that is less of an issue now.

My story - Visa application late July

Approval mid Aug , payment shortly after

                       Welcome letter Sept 1

Visa affixed in PP Sept 25 - they had to make appointment with Embassy (Australia) to make this happen - border closures prevented me from attending in person - I mailed PP to Embassy

MFA approval Oct 16 - then applied & was granted CoE - after satisfying all other requirements

                         Arrived Bangkok Oct 25

There may be a cap on Thai Elite entries per month, but I think the situation is improving there also. Thailand wants people to come here - but I am sure they are concerned about what is happening regarding Covid in many other countries.

The TEM-Q program was almost irrelevant in my case, as I had to organise ASQ etc , all they did was apply to MFA on my behalf - to get me on ‘the list’ - so that my local Embassy could decide whether to approve me or not.

    Hope this info helps.

  8. I received a letter/email from TE this evening , which attempts to explain the delays being faced by TE members.

This was appreciated, as it shows they are listening to members.

BUT - there is no imminent solution to the problem

As an over 50 , I know what I will be doing ????‍♂️????‍♂️????‍♂️????‍♂️  Just walk away!

  9. Yes - there is currently a major impasse between TE and the MFA , so no TE Visa holders are getting placed on the ‘approved entry list’ - and hence TE holders cannot apply for CoE.

Spoke to TE, and it was suggested that I will need to wait for at least another month before any approvals are given.

Every time I scroll through thai visa forum pages now I am bombarded with banners offering me 3 months extra TE Visa if I apply and pay before Dec 31.   What a joke!!!

Someone needs to grow a set of b@lls here - maybe the MFA needs a bigger brown envelope from TE?

Yes this is the same problem I am having they say that my approve wil be 30 days.  Are you having problem booking ASQ hotel.  I though this was why we paid them 500.000 for hassle free entry

I have not tried to book ASQ as yet - I need to know when I can return first!

With TEM-Q Mk1 , TE were supposedly organising ASQ, but not now. I can understand this, because getting all of your ducks lined up is no mean feat!

I am resigned to the fact that there is no such thing as a hassle free entry, and maybe it was not 500K Baht well spent...

ubonjoe - I will follow up with Embassy prungnii - cheers

  11. I have similar issue.  Thai elite have changed their TEM-Q protocol.

They suggested that I should book my flight, organise ASQ , but that they also needed 30 days notice for Ministry of Foreign Affairs approval.   I pointed out that this was impossible, because we are never given more than 3 weeks notice of scheduled repatriation flights.

Thai Elite have now applied to MFA on my behalf, so when I get approval, I can apply to embassy for CoE and things will progress smoothly(?).

This has not turned out to be the easy return I had hoped for!

  12. I applied for ‘permission’ to leave last 10pm last Tuesday. I stated that I have a residence in Thailand but am stuck in Oz with my Thai partner. I said I don’t want to live here anymore. Got approval by 10am next day!   They can’t wait to get rid of me!  Not that difficult...
