Major creditors to rescue distressed Italian-Thai Development
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Chiang Mai Night Safari already tried that. Kenyan conservationists reacted with anger yesterday to news that a Thai zoo to which animals are being exported in a controversial deal is planning to serve an exotic game buffet to VIP guests. Guests at the opening of the Chiang Mai night safari zoo in northern Thailand will tuck in to a menu featuring tiger, lion, elephant and giraffe. Plodprasop Suraswadi, director of the zoo project, told reporters that guests will pay 4,500 baht (£64) each for a meal in which dishes range from locally reared dog meat to lion from Africa. Kenya last week agreed to export over 100 wild animals to Thailand, including zebra, flamingoes, buffalo, wildebeest and hyena, despite protests by wildlife experts and Masai elders. None of the animals is from an endangered species. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2005/nov/19/animalwelfare.kenya It should be noted that it was endorsed by the then PM, Thaksin, who visited Kenya to strike the deal for the animals. -
It has always been circling the plughole. They fooled a lot of people over the years, but you always get found out in the end for what you really are.

Anutin tells Swiss man Urs Fehr he should go home
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
By commenting, the Deputy PM is clearly influencing the process. You are clearly letting your own emotions and feelings deny you logic here. -
I have a hard time believing that it really fooled anyone, even the Thais in charge at the time. It had no basis in scientific fact. Similar devices were being sold as novelty golf ball detectors. IMO, it was bought because they knew it was a scam and could cream millions off the top of the purchase price. The fact that many people, including a former PM and the country's leading forensic psychologist backed it, and that it was continued to be used in active service for so long, is a complete disgrace. There should have been many in jail for this debacle, but as far as I know, there has been no-one ever found responsible in Thailand. The guy behind the scam was sentenced to jail in the UK.

Thai doctor offered bribe to drop lawsuit in Swiss scandal
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Indeed, however, it could have all been premeditated to steal his business and assets. I wouldn't put it past the devious locals to have set him up. To clarify, I personally know of similar cases. This is Thailand, nothing is ever what it appears to be. -
