Foreign Pilot Approval Raises Concerns for Thai Aviation
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
More to the point, an independent airline (e.g. Amelia) that has its own qualified pilots is not going to allow inexperienced Thai pilots to fly their aircraft. As usual, the Thais have caused this problem themselves by not having enough aircraft available during peak season. -
Foreign Pilot Approval Raises Concerns for Thai Aviation
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They are talking about Bangkok Airways. They have wet-leased two Amelia Airways A320s which will be flown and crewed by some foreigners as they do not have enough planes to service all their routes. Amelia will operate Bangkok Airways routes from 1st December to 29th March 2025. -

Benz Driver’s Drunk-Driving Incident Claims Life of Female Rider
Mr Meeseeks replied to Georgealbert's topic in Bangkok News
The problem with wholly corrupt systems like Thailand, is that only those that are poor and don't have the connections will get the mandatory sentences… The media is too cowed to properly report and follow up on these crimes as well. -
Benz Driver’s Drunk-Driving Incident Claims Life of Female Rider
Mr Meeseeks replied to Georgealbert's topic in Bangkok News
Drink-driving is still culturally acceptable in Thailand. They need to make it unacceptable by completely shaming and destroying the lives of those that continue to flout the law. -
Foreign Motorcyclist killed in Crash on Pattaya Curve
Mr Meeseeks replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
I live on the darkside, so I ride and drive around there regularly. I know that corner well. Coming from the direction in the photograph it's a long 90 degree right hander, smooth concrete (not surfaced) and always loads of sand, so that could be a contributing factor. However, I see irresponsible foreigners riding around there all the time, often with no helmets and at speed, making dangerous and risky manoeuvres, nearly always on these twist and go scooters. Seen the aftermath of many crashes there as well. This is the second one on that road in weeks. -
Finnish Man Arrested for 10-Year Overstay in Thailand
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
Big Joke lied to a lot of people. 😉 There were some dumb enough on here to believe he was the next messiah, a crusader against corruption, and a beacon of morality and ethics amongst the vermin. In reality, he was just another grubby little policeman, with his hands in the till. 🤣 -
I have known many foreign men that have been ripped off by Thai women and Thai men with whom they were romantically involved. Too many stories of knives being used, assaults, police involvement and similar to list here. Over the years, I have had two friends killed by their Thai wives, one was shot, and his body left in his underwear in the jungle, where he was found days later. Another was killed, and his body burned, again in the jungle. In both cases over money and in both cases the Thai spouses were convicted. They were also from Bangkok, so these were no small village crimes. They people that committed these crimes were close family that they had known for many years. So yeh, I do know a little bit about this stuff, and when I hear about farangs going bonkers for no good reason I have a tendency to question it.

Pattaya paid sexual encounter turns to knife attack
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The title of this thread perfectly describes my last serious, long-term relationship in Thailand. -
I was just thinking the same thing. Life savings gambled away, personal possessions stolen, etc. Loads of reasons that would make a man go berserk. We have to realise that many Thais use the words bipolar to describe Westerners that become increasingly hostile and angry with their unreasonable behaviour, often over money. How do I know? Been there myself.

Those 20,000 entered illegally from a safe country therefore they are illegal immigrants. Genuine asylum seekers flee from unsafe countries, like war zones etc, arrive in the first safe country then claim asylum, often using the UDHR article 14. Let me explain. They would be genuine asylum seekers if they came to Britain directly from wherever they originate. They did not, they wilfully and illegally moved through several other countries to illegally enter Britain. This means they have ulterior motives other than just remaining safe, fleeing persecution, or claiming asylum. As they came directly from a safe country, and a country in which they were not persecuted, namely France, their asylum claims are entirely bogus. They will all be going back.

Why Do Thai Girls Love Getting Tattoos?
Mr Meeseeks replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
20 odd years ago not so many of them had tattoos. They were still taboo for Thais even among bar-girls and go-go dancers. There were a few that had sak yant, small designs, baby coverups and a few even had tats on their naughty bits. How times have changed. -

Chinese National’s Car Collides with Motorcycle, Killing Woman

Absolutely correct. Also, those junctions on railway road need working stop lights. So many accidents happen there. -
The Rwanda plan was not a scam, it was a deterrent. Also, it would be much cheaper and more effective than putting up illegals in hotels and giving them handouts. Now the solution will be turning back the boats, with forced deportations and repatriations, which will be a lot messier. They aren't staying, and populations of ethnic minorities that have not integrated into British society will be forcibly repatriated. It is inevitable.

7-Eleven Teams with British Embassy to Boost Thailand Road Safety
Mr Meeseeks replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
That was also true for Brits, Swedes, and a number of other nationalities. At one point, Thailand was well known as the most dangerous tourism destination for Brits. Late 90's, early 00's.
